Mushrooms did wonders in my life. I got diagnosed with ADHD since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting ADHD. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

This interview is a good example of why I can only take this channel in small doses. Mark seems very judgmental whilst knowing absolutely nothing about psilocybin. Mark seemed determined to get this guy to say that shrooms were fucking up his life.

    • @Andrew-fb4vn
      @Andrew-fb4vn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +120

Mark is a shit interviewer. He platforms a lot of people who would otherwise be voiceless, but the leading questions and obvious biases are ridiculous. It’s really not that hard to interview someone without inserting your own perspective, but somehow Mark can’t put aside his ego long enough to do so. Super frustrating to watch.

I've watched a lot of Marks videos, most of the time he is fair and genuinely asks good questions. This interview came across as Mark is trying to get this man to say something through a series of leading questions where Mark already has a predetermined answer that he want the interviewee to say.
This is where I draw the line and unsubscribe. Unsubscribe, unfollow and could care less. Sooner or later others will see it too. Pretty sickening really, we as an audience think we're getting a pure interview, yet this is the furthest from the truth. The more Mark can sensationalize these interviews, the more views he'll get, and the more money he makes. He doesn't care about these people, he uses them for his photos and interviews and parades these folks around for the masses to see. Here's and idea, if any of the people in this audience care about the homeless, the abused, the addicts, the alcoholics, how about go out and meet someone like that and have a conversation with them, get to know them, help them if you can, but to come here a gawk at these people is sickening.
This is coming from someone who was a serious opiate addict/alcoholic/couch surfer for a decade, and have been 100% clean for 7years, so my perspective may be different than most of the audience.

Mark is not a psychologist, he is a world renowned photographer. This is a very organic channel. He doesn’t really do a scripted type thing it just flows as the interviewee’s takes it. All these people that he meets and speaks with leave lighter after talking about ‘THEIR PAIN, THEIR STORY’ to someone who truly listens with interest. He may not as questions the way some may prefer but he gets the results. He also helps these people get into treatment or an apartment or a hot meal etc……more then judgement ever helps.

I suffer from Cluster Headaches. Apparently they are more severe than Migrages. Another name for them is Suicide Headaches and I definitely understand the term. For 40 year the doctors fed me prescription after prescription trying to find something that worked. Nothing did. The only thing they did was dull the pain and it really shouldn't have been driving. One day I heard a show about LSD and Magic Mushrooms and they mentioned Cluster Headaches. I Googled it and it was all there. I got some mushrooms, followed the instructions and the next morning the headache was gone. I now take mushrooms typically every 6 months. Sometimes even 12 or 18 months. You can feel the headache trying to push their way back in and this is when you medicate.
Magic Mushrooms was a game changer for me. I hope this helps someone.

@Chris Woods For me it would always be a severe pain beside either the left eye or right eye. They call them "cluster" because when they started I would continue getting them for months. Two or three times in a 24hour period.
It would be best to google it "cluster headache magic mushrooms". The explanation given will explain lots.

Although my dealer friend did talk me into taking a hit of blue microdot at a Grateful Dead concert in San Francisco. Then as I was blazing, she says to me she's going to go deal some of it so I was just sitting staring at the stage watching all the colors and hearing the music come to life around me. Psilocybin mushrooms are the best highs I've ever had. The best was taking them and then floating down a gentle river and looking up at the trees dancing in the wind. Very spiritual experience that makes me want to be an indigenous person who has rituals involving an entire tribe with people taking them.

I just love how people can watch a 20 minute video and feel that they are in the position to make these declarative statements about someone they don't know the first thing about, and likely not taking into consideration that that person will almost surely read them. Have you stopped to think about the fact that he is only telling us what he wants us to know? There are so many things going on with every single person, so much they would never say out loud. Obviously the comments section is meant for people to express their opinions, but it's amazing to me how many of these people don't realize how ridiculous they sound judging another person's entire existence based on what they see in a short video. Would we be able to sum up everything about you, give the best advice, tell you what is wrong with YOU after hearing you talk for 20 minutes? No, so feel free to give your personal impressions but spare us all the self righteousness! Which will never happen. But if you do read this Doug, remember how easy it is for people to pass uninformed judgements and do whatever feels good to YOU in life. You seem like a wonderful person, I know I probably couldn't put myself out there to be judged and commented on, so good for you.
Also so lame that he couldn't plug anything at the end...I think many people notice how different certain people are treated on here.

This poor guy is stunted in his development and trying to grow by taking psychedelics. He's in the same trap as much of the "healing community" -- they tend to think the experience fixes things or causes their thinking to move forward in their lives, but they aren't willing to do the introspective and collaborative work after the experience that it takes to get effective growth from psychedelics. A lot of times it's because they don't know how. A century of repressive drug policies have made it difficult to get plugged in with solid mentoring that's amenable to integrating psychedelics into a mentor-mentee relationship.

About 2 months ago tried psilocybin. It was awesome. Would actually recommend to pretty much anyone. Will try again during Christmas. just the bigger dose.

I knew the comments would correct this mushroom hate in this video. Every single time I trip on a larger dose of mushrooms I get rid of my depression for MONTHS at a time. Mushrooms gave me back my life. Mushrooms reminded me I was an artist and gave me the confidence to step out and be myself. Mushrooms made me want to go back to school to better myself which I did and graduated with honors. It is criminal how our Government as poisoned so many minds to think psychedelics are “bad no matter what.” I feel pity for every single person who has not had the experience of a mushroom trip.

Mushrooms helped me kick my cigarette habit. After a strong ass trip, I realized how damaging tobacco truly is. Don't regret taking the fungus at all.

I love this series. Thank you Mark. I am Commenting on gigalo guy here since comments are turned off over there: this dude seems to be a total con artist who gets money out of middle aged and older women and I bet he is planning to open a cult at those “healing centers” he discussed.

This guy reminds me of myself, if I had gone wrong at a younger age and never got treatment or went to school. He has zero self knowledge. The worst thing about mushrooms is the taste, while he lives on Skid Row. But then I think, don't I do the same thing, differently? Funny stuff.

I burned about 20% of my body with 3rd degree burns when I was 15. Lots of scars and skin grafts. I mention this because I was fit for and given pressure garments (they look similar to a wetsuit but it’s like a silky material) that greatly reduce the scarring bands and the thickness. Maybe the director of the channel or someone near your area that works in that field can donate a set to you. It helps and they may have made great advancements since I was burned (early 90’s). Best of luck to you

If you have something that you really want in your life, spend lots of time thinking about it. The more you think the more ideas will pop up the more creative your gonna start to get. Your subconscious mind doesn't care if your vision is crazy. It doesnt care if you dont know how to do it.
When you see a thing clearly in your mind, your creative "success mechanism" within you takes over and does the job much better than you could do it by conscious effort or willpower.
A different psychedelic from a different planet every nanosecond.
All sorts of dreams are possible.
The human nervous system cannot tell the difference between an "actual" experience and an experience imagined vividly and in detail.
Synthesize "experience," to literally create experience, and control it, in the laboratory of our minds.
A vision is a very emotional image, the most powerful image that you can come up with for yourself at this time. This vision will become like a hallucination in other peoples mind and this could be the cause of them creating extraordinary things.

Mushrooms are so useful that it is a shame that people waste them by trying to get high with them. Can you approach it that way and enjoy yourself? Yes, but you are really wasting them for a use so base. 12 step program was originally designed to use lsd in the process. The key is that psychedelics give you the courage to face your faults if you want to and are ready. As well as helping you connect with the inspiration within yourself to do great things. If you are not ready to hear the message than you will miss it. Also kids, the things you see or think should not be thought of as true on their own. They should be thought out and tested when you are sober again to complete the process of integrating the new thought paths that are worth keeping.

I don't think the psilocybin is the issue in Doug's case. He may have some other drug habits, even alcohol or meth, but it's his naivety and denial of what affects him that is coming through in this interview. He reminds me of two people I have been close with, both of them FULL of ideas and passion, but in denial of addictions that cause them harm. One couldn't wait to be done with court-ordered sobriety check-ins so he could start drinking again after a DWI, in which he still blames the person that called the cops for him hitting a parked car. The other one having good ideas, but thinking ideation alone deserves financial reward, and gets upset that people won't give him money for his ideas. Doug doesn't seem like a bad guy, just stuck in a childlike mind.

This guy is clearly delusional. He wants to work and be creative but instead he is homeless on shrooms and pretending that drugs are going to lift him out of his situation by producing some epiphany. Mark was clearly in the right in his attempt to try to dig further into the negatives but this guy is not there mentally yet. Perhaps in ten years we can see a follow-up video that will reveal the down sides.
