    Bose really hit it out of the park with the S1Pro! In some ways it bests all their other products. Super small, 15 pounds, battery operated, Bluetooth, excellent fidelity/output for its size, pole mountable.Pairing two wirelessly in stereo brings it to the next level. Now with the matching Sub1 it becomes a true full range system at its volume limitations. Bose if you are listening we need: S1Pro App needs full 10 band EQ. Sub1 should have full Bluetooth control of volume/mute. Oh yeah Sub1 needs to be battery operated!

    Since I'm getting a lot of views on the S1Pro combinations, I've decided to do a more thorough comparison of dB levels with one S1Pro, 2xS1Pros, 1Sub1, 21xSub2s. Should be done in one to two weeks. Keep heads up looking for it.

    Forgot to mention, If you push the subs less than 2 feet from a wall will boost SPL by +3dB. Also want to emphasize the great Bose Connect App which runs the two S1Pros in true L/R stereo, wirelessly.

    Hello! I am interested in the Pro s1 but the Bose website says it is not compatible with an external subwoofer. In the Q&A it says "Can I connect an external subwoofer, such as the Bose B1 bass module, to the S1 Pro multi-position PA system?" Answer from Bose: "No. The system does not support adding bass modules. However, the S1 Pro does provide a reasonable amount of bass from its integrated high excursion woofer." Can someone explain?

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you hook up ANY stand alone subwoofer you will realize how lacking the bass is on the S1Pro! You can not hook up a B1/B2 module without adding an external amp which gets expensive. Don't do it. Any powered subwoofer works great with S1Pro. Bose new Sub1 is the best match. If you want to know other options let me know.

    I have requested on a Bose forum that the S1 Pro has a High Pass Filter (HPF) on the phone app to match the Low Pass Filter button ( LPF) button on the Sub 1. This way the Sub 1 can take the low end power demands off the S1 pro, batteries will last longer, and sound is clearer in the low to mid range. This would make the S1 Pro / Sub 1 combo even more amazing in flexibility and sound quality.

    I have 2 "S1 Pro's" that I want to have in my living room. We love super loud music in our household. The music we listen to has alot of bass. So I was thinking of getting 2 "Sub 2s" to place my "S1 Pro's" on them using the Bose speaker pole. I want 2 uniform sets for left and right. I figure it would look weird to have just one "S1 Pro" sitting on a "Sub 2" and the other one on some tripod pole like the setup in your video. I also noticed you mentioned that the "Sub 1's" work best when next to eachother and that having 2 apart defeats the purpose. Will you recommend 2 "Sub 1's" over 2 "Sub 2's" using the "S1 Pro's" ? Will 2 "Sub 2's" really be an overkill?

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have similar taste in home music listening, loud with heavy bass! If you don't mind the size or price 2 Sub2s would be the ultimate set up. Remember the Sub2 is a live sound subwoofer. It is tuned differently than a home Hi-fi subwoofer. One Sub2 will shake your walls! Two Sub2s in a home would probably be a waste of money - overkill. 2 Sub2s cost $2,400. For $1,500 you can get a single QSC KS118 which would be in a different league than the Bose Sub2. QSC is heavy at 100+lbs and now you would need speaker stands that look funny in the home. 2 Sub1s = the output of 1 Sub2. But you lose that super low end 37Hz extension. If you are planning on also playing movies you want that low end extension. Since you would be separating the subs you will lose the +3dB coupling affect. Even separated 2 Sub1s should be plenty for a music system only. Also depends on size of the room. In my large bedroom 1 Sub1 at 11:00 is as high as I can go. In large living room Sub2 is needed to shake walls. Better sub pole than Bose pole www.guitarcenter.com/On-Stage/Speaker-Sub-Pole-With-M20-Thread.gc?rNtt=sub%20pole%2020mm&index=1

    Hello there, I recently purchased 2 S1pro and 1 Sub1. One day I used bluetooth on one speaker and wired the second speaker from the first one with bluetooth because I don't want to depend on the Bose app to use both speakers. I noticed the wired speaker was producing louder and better sound than the one via bluetooth. Any idea why this was happening? Also is it better to go through bass fist then speaker or vice versa? And last any suggestions for a power station to juice up the Sub1? Thank you.

      Not sure why one is louder than the other, but I do find the same thing when both are using the App. To get the best sound/headroom Bose recommends going through the sub first but you will lose Bluetooth. I run the Sub1 on a 400 watt power station - Expert Power 400. On two occasions playing heavy bass tracks at max volume the Sub1 shut down. If I had to do it again I would look for 500+ watts.

      If you want a Bluetooth setup like I am demonstrating it is a simple one cable setup. From the Line Out of S1pro use a 1/4" TRS cable to 1/4" TRS into Line In 1 on the Sub2. For a more secure connection you can use 1/4" TRS from S1Pro Line Out to Male XLR into Line1 Sub2. These are balanced cables- DO NOT USE standard guitar cable which has only one black hash mark. You will lose 6dB of output from the S1. www.amazon.com/dp/B07SQ2KSR3?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details or www.amazon.com/dp/B07L8BM15Z/ref=syn_sd_onsite_desktop_192?uh_it=6e9e4a0e0fd2e3d563fa5ed7d050bf84_CT&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExNUFOUjYxS1IyM05QJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTIyNDEwMUlXSEI2QzVNRlkwTSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTU4MTM1M1JQQzVaTjRMVDJEWSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNkX29uc2l0ZV9kZXNrdG9wJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1 I like 15 feet cables for other uses but you can use much shorter.

    I don’t get these reviews. Why are you testing these in a house to demonstrate how they will work in a real life setting. Perfect if you want to go deaf for use in your house. The purpose of these videos is for one reason: I am speaking to the new buyer of PA's who are facing endless choices to spend their limited money. I have a lot of gear and I wish I had someone who gave me advice which gear to skip. Maybe you haven't seen all the videos but I have tested outside. I agree testing in the house is not ideal but it is evident how one speaker compared to another distorts at volume. I am an audiophile and a musician. For keyboards when comparing two speakers it is very evident in a home situation at low to medium volume which speaker has better signal quality. In the case of the Bose S1 Pro in the home I was able to see its max output before clipping compared to another speaker with greater headroom. I play live music and backing tracks. My application for these micro systems is mainly playing backing tracks for small situations. In that situation playing for 50 people or so, the throw of a speaker doesn't really come into play. When playing live drums to larger audiences I would not use any of the systems I have demoed. I have a large RCF system with multiple subwoofers. Thanks for your feedback.

      @@WWeiss-nv5vz Interesting, I was curious since you posted about the L1 Pro 32 and stated, correct me if I’m wrong you won’t be moving out the house again.
      As for tracks, unless your playing live with a partial pre recorded track mono does not cut it with L1 systems. Your tracks will sound muddy and the high frequency detail is canceled out.
      Stereo is the only way for that application. I thought about adding these to my S1 Pros. Not worth it for me. Might as well invest in the F1 812 and be done. Less gear not much more weight to lug and lower setup time.

Of course if it was an outside gig I would definitely bring it. Since that video I bought a Sub1 that is a super portable rig with the Pro32.
      As far as backing tracks I couldn't agree with you more, stereo is the way to go! I am not a DJ. Buying a second Pro32 is too expensive. Instead what I do is, I line out from the Pro32 to an EV30. I'm running Bluetooth so no mixer is involved. I realize they are both playing the same mono signal but I like being immersed in sound coming from the left and right. It sounds great! The EV at a much lower price actually adds some crisp high end missing from the Pro32.
