I think most SCP's would be better contained by launching them into space/toward the sun than continuously spending resources on containment staff and equipment.
That's the G.O.C's modus operandi for dealing with Keter-class subjects... but heavy-handed actions like that often create more horrific consequences. Just read SCP-1730 or SCP-1609 how that mindset even in the SCP-verse just breeds a far worse substitute.

I think the notion is that Able is dead, frustrated and enraged at his murder he basically takes it out on everyone while Cain is not dead, having lived for so long he has found his calm but Able is always alone with his rage and pain so he comes out and kills everyone he can. That's just my theory

But it is clear that the author was inspired by the biblical tale. Oftentimes, SCP authors make deities and mythological beings real, adding their little twist so we do not read the same story as the original mythology and make us keep guessing. You write it up as a being that could have inspired the real life mythology. Making a mythological creature an SCP is extremely hard for this reason.

It actually used to be a lot worse. There was a long period where "Able as Foundation-controlled supersoldier" was used unironically by the fanbase; after a few years, however, people came to the collective realization that it was a decidedly edgelord concept that didn't in any way fit with the tone of the series as a whole. So they added the story about Able getting bored and slaughtering all his allies/guards for fun, leading to the project getting shut down and Able locked up again, permanently this time.
Quite simply? They're a 'multinational' secret organisation, _everyone_ pays them and likely aren't even aware they're doing it. Or at least I'm pretty sure that's how it works. That, or they don't pay anyone for work like that and they just abuse amnestics so that the building never " actually happened" and no one can say otherwise. With the SCP foundation, it can literally be anything.

Well think of it like this: OG edgeboi 049 can be reasoned with. 173 can be worked around. 862 is "easily" contained. 106 is relatively calm. But 076 neither tires nor dies permanently nor has a weakness. He quite literally is the protagonist in a video game.
Flying Scott yeah, but compare him to 682 and he seems super tame. Is he edgy and murder happy? Yes, but in terms of durability and destructive power of Keter class scp’s he isn’t actually all that impressive. I mean, sure he get’s out all the time, but that *is* what makes him Keter.
@arnold jayeola I know that, but generally Keter class SCPs are the most powerful (disregarding Apollyon) and most dangerous, hence why they are so difficult to contain. You do have some exceptions but for the most part, Keter means that something is a greater threat than something that is Euclid.

You might hold that opinion, however it's quite unsubstantiated. 076 is a phenomenal, top tier SCP entry. Is he a bit edgy and metal death like? Sure, but it's mitigated by the fact that his lore is extremely interesting and he's a total badass with an incredibly cool character design and amazing anomalous abilities. His writing and potential applications and subsequent SCP tales and stories are peak SCP material. Also, calling him "Fanfictionish" is incredibly stupid, since all of the SCP universe and wiki, is entirely fanfiction, since it's all fiction written by thousands of fans, lol. Anyways, the fact of the matter remains that at the end of the day, he's one of the most popular and beloved SCP's in the entire community. Not to mention, he's an absolute fucking beast and a killer badass. If you're going to hate or criticize an entry, at least use common sense, logic, and have a proper understanding of what it is that you are talking about.

Archer didn't have "tiny dimensional pockets", they just appeared. Gilgamesh is the one with tiny dimensional pockets, and also has tattoos (shown in Fate/Extra CCC), and the entire story of the epic of gilgamesh has him being extremely strong without even the need for weapons to the point that only Enkidu was a match for him (and in Fate, fighting with Enkidu is what caused him to think up just throwing his weapons). Not to mention the guy liked challenging fights, a lot. So yeah, more like Not-Gilgamesh than Not-Archer. (Yes I know Gil was an Archer too but im not gonna be that guy and spoil identities for a series that hides them on purpose).

Did people or person who wrote this SCP deliberately switch the roles of Cain and Able in order to distinguish this SCP from the biblical version of Cain and Able. I ask this because there is also an SCP 073 who goes by the name of Cain. In the bible, Cain murders Able out of jealousy. The way that Able's SCP is described, it seems his abilities and temperament would be more in line with Cain from the Bible and Cain's SCP description would be more in line with Able from the Bible.
RVL480 Van SCP 073 is described to reflect any violence towards itself onto the attacker. I've seen theories that 073 has always had this "ability", and when attacked by Able the damage done to him was simply reflected back, making Cain appear to be a murderer.

I say this because while what you say about Cain and Able makes perfect sense, the Bible says that God condemned Cain and exiled Cain for murdering Able even though God did place a mark on Cain to protect him from being murdered by others. Maybe this "mark" that God placed on Cain to protect him from being killed by others is this ability that reflects any damage done to Cain back on the person who inflicted the damage. I am confused as to who attacked who first. Did Cain attack Able first or did Able attack Cain first. The Bible says that Cain attacked Able only. Maybe Cain acquired this "mark" of protection from God after murdering Able or at least that's the way the bible depicts it. But if Cain had this "mark" before Able was murdered, then Able, based on his description in this SCP, may have attacked Cain first and was then destroyed by his own actions due to Cain's "mark" of protection or his ability to reflect the violence done to him back on his attackers. That would also mean that Cain may not necessarily be responsible for Able's death and that God was wrong to condemn and exile him. Then again, it's just a story and may not require all of this overthinking.

It's probably done to reflect how the entities have changed over the millennia, if in fact they are the biblical Cain and Able; one became a bloodthirsty psychopath after his death and subsequent resurrection while the other has become a pacifist as a way of atonement.

He's _Able._ Specifically - there's another SPC that is unquestionably Cain - he has a mark on his hand, can't die, can't be contained because he's cursed to wander forever, and has sworn off of violence as penance for some horrible misdeed. One of the supplementary files on his page has him asked about -076, and he replies they have a past, and it would be a very bad idea for them to meet. I also believe that -343, who claims to be God, has a supplementary file where he indicates that he knows the two of them and further alludes to their story.

There was a long period where "Able as Foundation-controlled supersoldier" was used unironically by the fanbase; after a few years, however, people came to the collective realization that it was a decidedly edgelord concept that didn't in any way fit with the tone of the series as a whole. So they added the story about Able getting bored and slaughtering all his allies/guards for fun, leading to the project getting shut down and Able locked up again, permanently this time.

@arnold jayeola I know that, but generally Keter class SCPs are the most powerful (disregarding Apollyon) and most dangerous, hence why they are so difficult to contain. You do have some exceptions but for the most part, Keter means that something is a greater threat than something that is Euclid.

You might hold that opinion, however it's quite unsubstantiated. 076 is a phenomenal, top tier SCP entry. Is he a bit edgy and metal death like? Sure, but it's mitigated by the fact that his lore is extremely interesting and he's a total badass with an incredibly cool character design and amazing anomalous abilities. His writing and potential applications and subsequent SCP tales and stories are peak SCP material. Also, calling him "Fanfictionish" is incredibly stupid, since all of the SCP universe and wiki, is entirely fanfiction, since it's all fiction written by thousands of fans, lol. Anyways, the fact of the matter remains that at the end of the day, he's one of the most popular and beloved SCP's in the entire community. Not to mention, he's an absolute fucking beast and a killer badass. If you're going to hate or criticize an entry, at least use common sense, logic, and have a proper understanding of what it is that you are talking about.
I also find it funny that you subject SCP-076 to criticism, when your profile picture is "The Scarlet King". One of the most corny, boring, and overhyped SCP entries on the site. He's legit like the SCP version of Thanos or Satan. He's so overdone and overused and incredibly basic. Archer didn't have "tiny dimensional pockets", they just appeared. Gilgamesh is the one with tiny dimensional pockets, and also has tattoos (shown in Fate/Extra CCC), and the entire story of the epic of gilgamesh has him being extremely strong without even the need for weapons to the point that only Enkidu was a match for him (and in Fate, fighting with Enkidu is what caused him to think up just throwing his weapons). Not to mention the guy liked challenging fights, a lot. So yeah, more like Not-Gilgamesh than Not-Archer. (Yes I know Gil was an Archer too but im not gonna be that guy and spoil identities for a series that hides them on purpose).

I'm pretty sure they fought it one of those SCP stories in their site where Cain was trying to stop Abel from going somewhere. Abel kept trash-talking and broke his own back after trying to do the same to Cain. Then he hit Cain in the neck knocking both of them unconscious but Abel recovered more quickly so he made it through.

The Volgun: "Able" is one of my favorite SCP's. I had a question though. Did people or person who wrote this SCP deliberately switch the roles of Cain and Able in order to distinguish this SCP from the biblical version of Cain and Able. I ask this because there is also an SCP 073 who goes by the name of Cain. In the bible, Cain murders Able out of jealousy. The way that Able's SCP is described, it seems his abilities and temperament would be more in line with Cain from the Bible and Cain's SCP description would be more in line with Able from the Bible.
RVL480 Van SCP 073 is described to reflect any violence towards itself onto the attacker. I've seen theories that 073 has always had this "ability", and when attacked by Able the damage done to him was simply reflected back, making Cain appear to be a murderer.

I say this because while what you say about Cain and Able makes perfect sense, the Bible says that God condemned Cain and exiled Cain for murdering Able even though God did place a mark on Cain to protect him from being murdered by others. Maybe this "mark" that God placed on Cain to protect him from being killed by others is this ability that reflects any damage done to Cain back on the person who inflicted the damage. I am confused as to who attacked who first. Did Cain attack Able first or did Able attack Cain first. The Bible says that Cain attacked Able only. Maybe Cain acquired this "mark" of protection from God after murdering Able or at least that's the way the bible depicts it. But if Cain had this "mark" before Able was murdered, then Able, based on his description in this SCP, may have attacked Cain first and was then destroyed by his own actions due to Cain's "mark" of protection or his ability to reflect the violence done to him back on his attackers. That would also mean that Cain may not necessarily be responsible for Able's death and that God was wrong to condemn and exile him. Then again, it's just a story and may not require all of this overthinking.

@Yato The story of Cain and Able is directly correlated with this SCP. Someone being an atheist may affect their comprehension and understanding of the prior SCP's backstories (That being the story of Cain and Able.). Someone's religious inclination is therefore relevant in this situation.
It's probably done to reflect how the entities have changed over the millennia, if in fact they are the biblical Cain and Able; one became a bloodthirsty psychopath after his death and subsequent resurrection while the other has become a pacifist as a way of atonement.

I just checked, and you're right, he's not Cain. He's _Able._ Specifically - there's another SPC that is unquestionably Cain - he has a mark on his hand, can't die, can't be contained because he's cursed to wander forever, and has sworn off of violence as penance for some horrible misdeed. One of the supplementary files on his page has him asked about -076, and he replies they have a past, and it would be a very bad idea for them to meet. I also believe that -343, who claims to be God, has a supplementary file where he indicates that he knows the two of them and further alludes to their story.
