What beautiful Christmas quilts! That’s a lovely tradition, even if it’s every couple of years that you make one. Our tornado sirens sound like yours. They’re only tested during tornado season, though. They always catch me by surprise, too. I’m very glad we have them!
The tornado warning siren sounds like our Fire Whistle ....every call....used to be right across from house. New “horn” now down the street near new firehouse. Still hear it loud and clear - just a little less jarring.... thank goodness for them, yet, you’re right you hear it and it rocks you. We also have the nuclear plant siren monthly/semi monthly/ whenever testing, that they don’t always warn us about. 😂 took me awhile to get used to both. Thanks for the ears up ....earbuds out quick! 😉 Your quilts are beautiful, what treasured pieces for your family. ♥️

In the villages of Austria they do the sirenes of the fire departments EVERY saturday right after the church bells chimed at 12 o'clock. E V E R Y saturday. Benni was totally freaking out every time :D
