Millennial Farmer Races an Extreme OFF ROAD Buggy Through the Desert for the FIRST Time!

- Brian, Kelly, and the guys with the #111 Class 1 Desert Theory Off-Road team invited Onyx and I out to experience a 400 mile race through the Nevada desert with the Valley Off-Road Racing Association (VORRA). It was my first time doing this type of racing, and it was a much different experience than I'm used to! For this first video, we got to meet the guys, see the car, run our qualifying lap, and then do a "pre-run" before we take off for the 400 mile race tomorrow. The race video will be out next! We hope to do more of these in the future.

Wow,... that's Dr. Brent Miller's former Class 1-2 race car ! Yes, those are big shocks,... I took the car over to King for a full resizing of shocks and coil carriers , ( cost over $9,000.00 back in 2009 ) ! Car really handled even better with the added by-pass tubes ! Dr. Miller bought the car from McMillin Racing in 2005,... car was driven by Andy McMillin and placed 3rd in the Baja 1000 in 2003 ,.also was featured in the movie, " DUST TO GLORY ". McMillins bought the car from ,... can't remember ,... had Toyota of Escondido on the panels,... was formerly a Class 10 car and Brian Ewald was tasked with puttin a chevy V-6 in it.
Love how excited Brian is to teach and show Zach and Onyx the ropes of Desert racing and the differences of how Zach races.!!!!!!
I had so much fun! It was very cool seeing Zach figure the car out and get faster during the lap. I'm excited for his race day video. If you want a sneak peek, I uploaded my video today.

The true future racer is in the background, I'm sure taking mental notes of everything. Onyx watch and learn because you're going to be one hell of a mob getaway driver or race car driver someday.

From farming to motorsport! Both channels are among my favorites on yt. Onyx taking charge of the camera like a pro! He must also be an actor 🤔
I'm 60 this year and when I was a teenager my father raced these in the Minnesota and five state region. I still have several of his trophies. Back then he was a member of the north star dunn buggy club. He made many of these over the years. Fun times.
This is a sharp looking race car. Those shocks have amazing travel. Not quite like driving on clouds but at least the teeth jarring ditches don't rattle your brains! Of course you are experienced with plowing furrows down the track and planting your tires in perfect position for the next lap.
been waiting for this, kept checking, had a good friend who raced and won his in class ( ATV 4 wheelers) in the Baja 1000 around 12 yrs ago. Tough, tough sport and a hole LOT of fun.

You should come to Australia for the Finke Desert Rally racing around in the Outback its about 230kms(142.9miles) held over 2 days apparently its one of the most difficult off road races ever , Toby Price the bike rider who won the Dakar Rally has also won the Finke rally

I lived in Pahrump, NV from 1988-1991, and the HDRA ran a race each year that started in Las Vegas and went through the desert near Pahrump. I was privileged to be able to attend those rces. Very exciting. Great video Zach.

That is definitely some different kind of racing for sure! Rally racing in the winter has always been interesting to me and looks fun until they wreck into the woods😮

Corky actually ran this car back in the day!
You can actually still see the McMillin sticker on the car. Andy raced this car a couple times and then it was used as a prerunner.
It’s very special for us racing a car owned by the McMillin family. Kelly talked to Mark and Luke gave him a shop tour. They are a very special family and run an incredible racing team.

That Ranger looked to be 4WD. If it is may want to check with Cleetus if that’s okay. May have to pull the front driveshaft plus the center of gravity would be a disadvantage. Cheering you on at the race.
4wd is legal! I wanted a 2wd but couldn't find a decent one, plus they mostly came with small engines

Why not use rear off visor shields
as wet as it was, I think it would have eventually gotten under the tear offs anyway. With being out in the desert, they also don't like the idea of throwing plastic strips out of the cars.

I always brake with my left foot in everything. I was racing cars before I had a license, so it's always been natural to me. On the circle track stuff, we ride the brakes a lot in and through the corners
