I did this same thing to some grape plants I bought last year. I only put the cable up in the middle of the fence, hoping I can train the vines to just grow across the top without the cable. Anyways half my plants are only 2yrs old others are only one, but no grapes this year. Trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong. Keep us posted would love to see how it looks all grown out!!
You may have to wait up to the 3rd year before a grape vines will fruit. I had my concord grape, the one on the right in the video, fruit this year. I have a 2nd year Muscadine grape fruiting right now. I'd say give it another season and see how they do. Thanks for watching the video!!
Is the wire 100% stainless steel with a coating or is it coated with stainless steel. I asking because we HAD what we were told was stainless steel & it rusted completely out. Hope you got the real deal. We did replace it

Keep at it, you're plants are still young. They will moslty fruit from year 3-4. Give them a good feed (like a tomato feed) and shade the roots. I mulch them thoroughly with organic matter, works really well with water retainment and keeping weeds down, cooling/shading the roots and feeding them at the same time. I add extra (said) feed AND mulch twice a year, mostly after pruning. I prune 2-3 times a year to keep it on check. Also I put an old soda bottle or piece of drainage pipe near the plant to be able to water downwards, so the water really reaches the roots and they are motivated to stay growing down too. Works in pots too! Happy growing!

Thanks!!
Thankyou
You’re so very welcome!!! 😊 Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment!!
The way you crimped they will fail as soon as tension is applied when weight of grapes cause cable to drop
Good idea, it never hurts to add a little insurance. Thanks for the suggestion!!
Add a cable clamp as backup.
Again, good idea, thank!

It's supposed to be stainless steel wire inside of a plastic sleeve. I guess we will see how fast it will last!
How are they now?
Doing pretty well. I have 6 or 7 sets of grapes coming in. I show them in the video I'm putting out tonight!
Sasquatch hahaha
