Deerclops is a pre-Hardmode boss, encountered in the Snow biome at midnight during a Blizzard if at least one player in the world has either at least 9 defense or 200 health, or by summoning it using a Deer Thing in the Snow biome. It will not spawn naturally if there are NPCs too close to the player. Fighting the Deerclops is not required for game progression, but defeating it rewards the player with coins and other useful items.

Hey Adam. I know you pride yourself in your accuracy, but I notice at 4:41 you called deerclops’s pointy head appendages “horns”. I believe deerclops in fact has antlers. It’s a common mistake, but horns are permanent, continue to grow throughout life, and are almost identical to “head toenails”. Antlers on the other hands are essentially protruding bone, but most importantly, fall off in Spring to be regrown again in time for Autumn/Winter. You’re welcome
Good sculpture as always! I do have to mention one thing though. You're likely unaware but the Native Algonquian speaking tribes for whom the w*ndigo is part of their closed cultural beliefs have asked that people don't use them. Specifically using the word is believed, like in many cultures across the globe, to lend power to those evil entities. It is an issue of cultural appropriation (which is using a culture you don't understand or respect, often for monetary gain) and disrespect (not taking someone else's beliefs seriously because you can't see the problem from your end). Again I am sure you did not do this on purpose or maliciously, but that doesn't mean it isn't appropriation to label your otherwise delightful deerclops as this specific indigenous entity.
@@fortnitesexman You not valuing a culture, belief, or people does not mean that they have no value and cannot take offense or ask that people stop using certain things
@@Murrfle however, i do not believe it's a good idea to respect a culture for the sake of respecting a culture if they take offense to me making fun of the idea of a wendigo, that's on them for not only having such a ridiculous belief, but getting offended when said belief is challenged
@@fortnitesexman Everyone is allowed to have boundaries. You choosing to knowingly push or break someone's boundary is a choice you make, not "their fault" for having boundaries you find inconvenient. The reason I made my original comment was to inform Adam of this specific boundary he likely was not aware of, and explain why this boundary is there so that he can make more informed choices as a person and a content creator
@@Murrfle what bothers me is this modern obsession with respecting peoples boundaries to an extreme degree i choose to push or break those boundaries because i don't see any reason as to why i should purposefully restrain myself to please people with an absurd belief how come when a child believes in santa it's considered cute, but when an entire culture believes in a spooky snow person thing it's something you should respect and adhere to and what about schizophrenics? why don't we all respect what they see and believe? the answer is obvious, cause they're crazy and while believing in the wendigo isn't gonna land you in the psychward, it's still a ridiculous belief that doesn't *deserve* respect just because a lot of people think the same thing doesn't make that thing more worthy of respect so respecting the boundaries of silly goobers who genuinly believe in the wendigo isn't an informed choice, it's a stupid one
Hey just something to think about going forward, using the word "wendigo" is considered taboo, and might be seen as disrespectful. I am not Algonquin, or even native/first nations, so you can take it with a grain of salt or ignore me if you want. I've done some reading on the subject and I personally would ere on the side of caution or sensitivity. It's a legend that means something to people, something serious that they probably wouldn't want trivialized. And for what it's worth, I don't think any description I've read of them has them as deer. Like, I know you're not going for historical accuracy here, but that's something to think about for the future too if you wanted.
@@cameoflage"They were strongly associated with winter, the north, coldness, famine, and starvation." That is from the wiki for w*ndigo in the folklore section, and I think it describes deerclops quite well although it's not mentioned it probably was based on the modern depiction of a w*ndigo wich is a deer like creature although not accurate to the actual culture from what I've read. Also I know he changed his title and its not relevant anymore but I saw your reply and thought I'd share my opinion.
heads up, in the future, i'd avoid using the term/name "w*ndigo" and stick with 'deer monster' or 'deerclops' for this or whatever- a w*ndigo is specifically a spirit from native american folklore that has a lot of cultural significance to certain tribes. more info is very easy to read up on if you head to the wikipedia page for this thing
You shouldn't even be saying the name of that creature, especially not if you aren't familiar with the cultures it's present in. Even the elders don't speak it's name.
Hey! I know it's not intentional, but the creature w****go is very significant and important to certain native American tribes, and in these cultures it's nature is that you're not supposed to call it by it's name. It's been appropriated, but it's actually very insensitive to call it a w****go. I know it's not intentional, and may have been called such in an inspiration source, but it's still something worth fixing. I know my explanation isn't the best, so I'd recommend researching it if you have the time.
Adam I can pretty confidently say you didn’t mean to but w*ndigos are a closed culture thing from indigenous Americans, like there’s been decades of Native Americans begging people to not use the name or depiction of them. No harm if you didn’t know, obviously, especially since afaik you’re not American where most of the debate about it happened. Deerclops itself seems to be chill as the creators, again afaik, have deliberately put distance between it and Native American w*ndigos, especially in terms of how it behaves, but even so, calling it by that name is disrespectful of both Native American pleas and their culture regarding them.
Hey! im not sure if you're aware, but a w****** is part of native american culture, and there is a major taboo on saying its name, especially for those not part of the culture.
3:52 my whole body jolted upright at the mention of salad fingers. every time i watch a youtube video where they mention salad fingers i get so excited (as you can probably tell by my pfp i have an obsession.)
hey so,, this is super cool, but i request you at least change the title. this creature is a native creature, not a free-to-use-in-projects cryptid, and they've requested we don't say the name either. thanks,, on an unrelated note, my sibling made a clay thing and i saw your influences in the sculpture lol
As far as I know, the Deerclops itself as it appears in Don't Starve and Terraria doesn't even have anything to do with the legend, since the other thing doesn't look like a deer in the legend (I think that was made up for a movie? I'm not completely sure where the deer association came from).
@@cameoflagei understand that; reading back my comment has made it look like i went "unmake this creature" when that wasn't my intention lol. i just meant this isn't the name to use for it, as a that thing isn't related to the game, if that makes sense

I don't know why, but I think it would be cool if you made a sculpture inside a cave with monsters from Stardew Valley
Id love to see some more Dont Starve bosses! Awesome work as always :)
Ah, playing to two crowds at once, an astute business decision as I've come to expect them from this channel. Well done sir
Please make a creepy realistic Pac-man with a long tongue chasing a ghost i think that would look sooooo good
“Hi Folks

Will never get old ❤️
You are amazing at what you do… keep up the amazing work! Also, you should make a diorama of something Rain World related, I feel as though you would be so good at it!🫶💖✨
Edit: you could make something like the Slugcats or one of the creatures like any of the lizards or scavengers… would be pretty awesome if you did Adam!
He is absolutely en-Deer-ing. Very Cool. 👍👍👍
While this sculpture is absolutely amazing!!!! I would suggest a different name for the creature, people of the Algonquin tribe have asked that people stop using the term wend*go
Seconding this
Should have stuck to calling it a Deerclops, imo. Or just... a deer monster.
Why are you censoring wendigo?
@@adamlolbonus4977 how did you manage to somehow not read my comment at all but still notice it was censored?
you changed the course of history
Wonderful job! I made the stuffed Bear (Berney) from Don't Starve as a mini plush! Had a pattern all made as well! Good to see ppl are making fan sculptures of this games creatures and characters
Ever since Terraria did a crossover with Don't Starve.. I think both games got boosted from the update and QoLs
It is also apart of a colab with the game "don't starve together"
@@thepeelyfam4038 correct
@@thepeelyfam4038 actually deerclops originated in DST, not terraria, it was put in terraria with the crossover
@@emeraldsdumbchannel it comes from Dont Starve Together silly boy
@@-nathopolis-7024 He said it's part of a Collab, I already knew it was from don't starve
wasn't originally gonna watch this video due to the title but it came back across my feed today with an updated name. Not sure if a bunch of people or just a few let you know about the W word, but well done getting that fixed quickly, hope you have a great day and looking forward to watching
Wendigo
oh dang i bet youre so cool and impressive because you say a word other people dont say, dang especially after 8 months that's real impressive man
@@reebeesstorycornerit’s just a word buddy anyone can say wendigo it’s quite popular and has many fan games
@@PirateKingLuffy60 yes i love ignoring the people the culture this originated from and their repeated requests to not do that
Thank you for changing the title/description, I completely avoided the video because of it. I feel much more comfortable watching now!
Thank you for taking the words straight from my mouth.
STOP I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO TODAY. Thank you for helping me procrastinate, North of the Border, I appreciate it
Great as always.Btw,you should definitely sculpt Cthulhu.
Do you mean moon lord
@@theperplexedcat they could still mean Cthulhlu because it is in the terraria lore (or yk, we could just leave terraria for a bit.)

yk it would be cool if you made every boss and at the end make a video showcasing every single terraria boss you’ve made
As a terraria enthusiast i am really enjoying this terraria series and hyped for the next bosses to come!!
He isn't a terraria boss...
@@FluffyPumpy hes part of a crossover with dont starve ik, but technically makes him one 🙂

Great learning experience! Whatever you used for the bushes bleeds it's color.

omg i freakin love terraria and i LOVE UR TERRARUA SERIES!! they're just so cool and i always watch ur videos while eating lol-
it’s not Terraria.
Deerclops is from DST
Hello! I love your content and I was wondering if you could make something from Rain World, it's a great game that needs some more appreciation and I think it would be very cool to see you make something from the game. Maybe The Saint? Anyway, love your content, have an amazing day, goodbye!
I love how you put the finished product on the thumbnail so we know what were getting into
Definitely the best terraria model so far and it’s great since deerclops doesn’t get a lot of love great video
would probably remove the W-word from the title
Oh deer, you’ve overlooked the slobbery gleam for his grinning chompers.
dollightful fans having war flashbacks rn
Please do the moon lord. I would love to see you make him.❤
Isn't using the W term a closed practice for the Native American community to use alone?
Wendigo
WOW that fur look on the clay looks so good
Good sculpture as always! Again I am sure you did not do this on purpose or maliciously, but that doesn't mean it isn't appropriation to label your otherwise delightful deerclops as this specific indigenous entity.
bro, the wendigo is no more real than deerclops herself 💀
@@fortnitesexman You not valuing a culture, belief, or people does not mean that they have no value and cannot take offense or ask that people stop using certain things
@@Murrfle however, i do not believe it's a good idea to respect a culture for the sake of respecting a culture
if they take offense to me making fun of the idea of a wendigo, that's on them for not only having such a ridiculous belief, but getting offended when said belief is challenged
@@Murrfle what bothers me is this modern obsession with respecting peoples boundaries to an extreme degree
i choose to push or break those boundaries because i don't see any reason as to why i should purposefully restrain myself to please people with an absurd belief
how come when a child believes in santa it's considered cute, but when an entire culture believes in a spooky snow person thing it's something you should respect and adhere to
and what about schizophrenics? why don't we all respect what they see and believe? the answer is obvious, cause they're crazy
and while believing in the wendigo isn't gonna land you in the psychward, it's still a ridiculous belief that doesn't *deserve* respect
just because a lot of people think the same thing doesn't make that thing more worthy of respect
so respecting the boundaries of silly goobers who genuinly believe in the wendigo isn't an informed choice, it's a stupid one
Your voiceovers are excellent. And you have a very relaxing voice. I like these videos a lot.
It seems that any scary bipedal deer creature gets immediately tagged as a wendigo, frustrating to see
@@neight8077 yeah, as far as I know the Don't Starve monster wasn't based on it and it's not called one in-game.
@@cameoflage"They were strongly associated with winter, the north, coldness, famine, and starvation."
That is from the wiki for w*ndigo in the folklore section, and I think it describes deerclops quite well although it's not mentioned it probably was based on the modern depiction of a w*ndigo wich is a deer like creature although not accurate to the actual culture from what I've read.
Also I know he changed his title and its not relevant anymore but I saw your reply and thought I'd share my opinion.
Grow a backbone. People have been doing that to Jesus, the Buddha, Greek and Norse gods, etc and you never hear any complaints about that.
I looooved the Terraria series ❤❤❤ And now Don’t starve, awesome
heads up, in the future, i'd avoid using the term/name "w*ndigo" and stick with 'deer monster' or 'deerclops' for this or whatever- a w*ndigo is specifically a spirit from native american folklore that has a lot of cultural significance to certain tribes. more info is very easy to read up on if you head to the wikipedia page for this thing
You shouldn't even be saying the name of that creature, especially not if you aren't familiar with the cultures it's present in. Even the elders don't speak it's name.
th-cam.com/video/TfE93xON8jk/w-d-xo.html
This os wonderful, hope to see more Don't Starve work from you soon, like the Quackem from shipwrecked would look amazing in your style!
Wendigo
Super excited for the lunar pillars, moon lord, and other such things! You always make these soooo well, plus the entertaining commentary!!
Deerclops itself seems to be chill as the creators, again afaik, have deliberately put distance between it and Native American w*ndigos, especially in terms of how it behaves, but even so, calling it by that name is disrespectful of both Native American pleas and their culture regarding them.
bro pls grow a pair its a cryptid
Wendigo
1:50 i love the little arm holding 🥺😍
Thanks for removing the w word from the title man 👍
Wendigo
For fur I always use a little metal brush when sculpting
Hey! im not sure if you're aware, but a w****** is part of native american culture, and there is a major taboo on saying its name, especially for those not part of the culture.
Wendigo
3:52 my whole body jolted upright at the mention of salad fingers. every time i watch a youtube video where they mention salad fingers i get so excited (as you can probably tell by my pfp i have an obsession.)
hey so,, this is super cool, but i request you at least change the title. this creature is a native creature, not a free-to-use-in-projects cryptid, and they've requested we don't say the name either. thanks,,
on an unrelated note, my sibling made a clay thing and i saw your influences in the sculpture lol
@@whispyr_ Yeah using the name here is really pointless and misinformed. I guess people will call anything that if it's spooky and has antlers these days.
Wendigo
You created a dear-cyclops yet somehow managed to keep the same facial expression that I remember from the old stop motion movies on a Saturday morning (Ray Harryhausen's work?). Great job 😃
