Since we don't have ranch in holland, ranch doritos are called "Cool American" flavour
Is ranch dressing referred to as American dressing?
@@jacos.870 if it's the same as the UK then ranch dressing just doesn't exist - the only reason I know what ranch dressing is is from watching GMM. In the UK the Doritos flavour is called "cool original"

That means none of you have had the enjoyment of ranch and pizza. Pain
Episode idea: actually go to Finland and Rhett stays in denial the whole time
Why would they go all the way to sweden just for that?
It’s crazy this hasn’t happened
That would be a good mythical bit somehow.
LMAO
well that's mythical
Watching Rhett run around with a giant bag of Mayo is exactly how I expected this video to conclude.
"I'll see you at the park!" - lmao 🤣
welp, no need to watch the video anymore since I know who wins 2 minutes in
i can't believe it is not butter

@@Silvercanth I watch on mobile, and the top comment is shown regardless. It was just sitting there.
Not mad, I just get 20 minutes back I guess.
I knew the fried rice one bc when my grandma was in Japan she was living with a host family and they served salad with every single meal bc they thought that’s what Americans did and they wanted to make her feel at home 🥺
My aunt in Taiwan, when she came over to America for her niece's wedding, didn't know what was salad. She'd never seen it before.
That'd so cute 🥺
Japanese people eat salad at every meal thing it’s American. They eat salad for breakfast sometimes.
Oh yeah by the way. I’ve lived in Japan for 20 years
That’s so sweet of them!
i absolutely smashed the marshmallow fluff question 😎 it's such a staple of any American food shelf I've ever seen here in Sweden. it's basically how you identify you're at the American section (sometimes the shelf is just titled "food from around the world")
When Patrick asked if mayonnaise is an instrument, he should’ve waited to wait this episode
Except someone did actually make mayonnaise an instrument, look it up on TH-cam. It’s a great video.

I’m glad someone said this I was watching on my tv and had to log into my phone to comment but of coarse like minded people
Is mayonnaise an instrument?
That moment when you want to make is mayonnaise an instrument joke but you double check the comments to see is anyone else did it first
Today we answer the question: Is mayonnaise an instrument? Obviously yes.
No, but the Spanish Inquisition had a miracle whip that made anyone sing like a bird, Patrick.
No this is Patrick!!!!!
happy someone made this joke!
*the age-old question
finland!
Rhett saying the American size mayo is just a normal jar of mayo is exactly why everyone in Europe thinks Americans make everything big. In Poland jars of mayo are half that size.
Same here in Indonesia, we don't typically use THAT much mayo
I lived in Poland for a time and knew that was the right answer because the normal sizes of things, like mayo and other condiments, are the smaller sizes. Or the regular sizes lol
Mayo is used as an ingredient in the us in addition to being a condiment, so people have more at once
what's funny is that we don't even buy that size of mayo. We get the one bigger than that. lol
@@AP-uc7oz Mayo is also used as an ingredient in Polish cuisine

I would like to say that I guessed the marshmallow fluff correctly. That is a staple of American food sections in Manila too.
Same here in Sweden, every american shelf has it
Same here in Finland. It was already obvious from the first picture.
I love fluffernutters
Same! As soon as I saw it next to peanut butter so much I knew what it was. I dont like jelly so I made PB and fluff sandwiches when I was little
German here who has never set a foot into the US and I guessed it too lol
I had a feeling the last one was Marshmallow fluff. Over here in the UK, every "American aisle" has a jar of the stuff.
+1 for those aisles in sweden. thinking of buying a jar just to try someday
Which is crazy because I don't know anyone who eats that stuff.
Bro that marshmallow stuff is very hard to find here because no one eats it so stores rarely have it (at least here it north eastern Kentucky).
I tried it once and it’s just pure sugar it’s gross lol
It's pretty good if you've got the sugar tolerance for it. It is a bunch of sugar ^^; But pair it with peanut butter on a sandwich and it's an amazing little snack. It's called a fluffernutter sandwich. Though, I'd suggest having a glass of milk at the ready. The fluff does nothing to counter the stickiness of the peanut butter.
I've only ever bought it once myself to try, but never used it much other than maybe a spoon of it every now and then. Very sweet but never knew what to put it on. Tried it on toaster pancakes one time but was a little bit tough to spread.
As a Dutch person I was very confused and upset to learn that in an American McDonalds they do not serve their fries with American sauce.
the sauce seems similar to Arby's sauce which is used on fries

I remember those big 10L tubs of Hellman's from my time in the restaurant industry. We used to use them for banquets and, when you're constantly restocking a potato salad that feeds 35 people, that tub of mayo goes pretty fast. Also, I'm Canadian :)
I can just feel josh nodding in approval over that behemoth sized mayo bucket.
I live in South Korea at the moment and as soon as those pizzas were on the table I knew exactly which one was the correct one, even though I wasn't even aware of such a thing. Koreans love to put potatoes in places that look weird to westerners, like pizzas or cakes. They do the same with corn but I'd rather not start on that one because it gets too crazy.
POTATOES ON CAKES?!?!?!?!? What??
I had a best friend who was Korean when I was little. Her mum made me a potato based dish that blew my mind, and I’ve been searching for it ever since. No one does potatoes better than South Korea!

I've always LOVED Root Beer and it wasn't until I started watching these foreign countries trying American foods that it really hit me. If I were to go back and try root beer for the very first time again, I 100% could understand the people saying it tastes like medicine. It's so weird but I'm just so used to it.
Yeah, I knew that had to be it as I was already aware that a lot of folk don't like it! Ever had Horehound candy? It' kinda like that, an acquired taste. I can't imagine not having a Root-Beer float now and again! 😁✌
I'm from Germany and I really like root beer. We don't have a variety of brands here so I was only able to try the A&E root beer but the unique taste is what gets me.
I always thought Root Beer was the healthy soda, hahaha. 😆 It tastes like sassafras tea, except for bubbly and more chemical. 😂
It really tastes like Listerine to me 🥲
It tastes like mint and I love it
"I'll see ya at the park" 🤣 😂 runs away with mayo over shoulder like Santa. Love Rhetts humor!!
Today we ask the age old question: “Is Mayonnaise an Instrument?”
Let’s talk about that!
@@gabriellaberman no
I love it when Stevie does her impression of Link's dad
Ahhh yes, the Dutch American sauce. Love that with fries, never tried it with a hamburger or with chicken. It actually started as McDonalds sauce, because they had that as an option to get with your fries :) The sauce is made from mustard, unionpowder, dille or parsley
I have it with my mcnuggets al the time! It's great
I love how they look so confused about fries and chicken with mayo, in Europe we use mayo for absolutely everything! I'm italian and sometimes I dip my pizza too in it loool
I’m legit DYING laughing at the Mayo bit at the end. From them sliding Rhett a bucket of Mayo to him running around with a bag of it slung over his shoulder 😂
Ah a South Korean native, can confirm that we never really think this is what American’s eat. It’s all marketing, but sausage in pizza tastes good. We’ll also often have sweet corn, and sweet potato instead of mashed potato. Glad to see it on the thumbnail!
Nope, you have to live with the stereotype just like we do
That's cool! Where in south korea are you from? I'd love to visit there sometime :)
Sweet corn on pizza? Interesting, that probably isn't too bad actually, fresh maize has a nice "crunch" factor. Speaking of crunch factor, you South Koreans know how to fry chicken, haha. But beyond the food, I can't wait to visit your country!

FINALLY, SOMETHING FROM THE NETHERLANDS.
they use mad sauce at mcdonalds here and, I kid you not, I would eat the remnants of it with just my finger and, if I had a extra cup of mad sauce, I'd eat the entire thing even if I had no fries left. That stuff is absolute fire.
I was really hoping they would feature the dutch american fries sauce on the show sometimes and now they did!!
Can't say I'm a fan. I'd rather have regular mayo.
AGREED! I'm from Luxembourg and we got Frites Sauce in McDonald's as well. 11/10
Absolutely.
The irony is dill sauce/dill mayo is also served with fries in the USA, and here in Canada. So the Netherlands was the one actually using an American item, and they were still unsure about it. Feels weird they have never been to an Original Joe's or local pub and not seen dill sauce for fries.
The Frito pie is called a walking taco in the Midwest or at least in Wisconsin. I learned something today. That’s why I love being a mythical beast!
In Canada (at least the areas of Canada I have lived in) its Taco in a Bag- its done with fritos, doritos, ariba chips, and some places will even do it with takis or the hard cheetos....depends on the arena venue
in illinois we call it both, but a frito pie will typically be dumped onto a plate or bowl and the walking taco stays in the bag.
Usually frito pie uses chili. Walking talking is ground beef and taco ingredients.
@@raemorefield4677 A frito pie only uses Fritos and chili. They are not the same as a Walking Taco.
@@JustMamba No, a frito pie always uses chili. That and the Frito chips are what makes it a frito pie. Anyone calling a Walking Taco a "frito pie" is incorrect.

The international themed food content on GMM is my favorite. It always makes my day (and lunch break) when these episodes are posted.
4:58 Today, we ask the age old question: Is mayonnaise an instrument? YES
NO because Rhett and Link wouldn't let it make the noises they made the noises instead.
The Mythical kitchen crew are amazing. If there was a mythical restaurant I'd go.
Davin's hearty laughter at the end. LOL! 😂
The census never asked if we prefer more episodes like "The Human Chocolate Fountain" because that was pure gold. All time favorite.
Who else knew immediately after the first picture, that it was gonna be marshmallow fluff under there?
I did lool. It was the one thing I wasn't seeing, that's commonly in the American imports sections of other countries' grocery stores.
Yes! Especially with it being next to the peanut butter hahah.
at first, i was thinking syrup, but it showed up on other pictures, then i went into thinking cake icing, then to mashmallow fluff after thinking about smores.
I did! I've seen a couple of those pics the showed, and remembered it was marshmallow fluff.
any non-american I guess, I have never eaten that stuff before hahaha, its not used as an ingredient in anything that I can think of either.
I thought the cloche item was going to be that Goober stuff from Smuckers where the pb and jelly are swirled together in one jar. 😂
Fritos pie. Love that better than walking taco.
Patrick: Is mayonnaise an instrument?
Rhett and Link: YESS!
I KNEW The mystery item had to be marshmallow fluff!!! I was yelling it at my screen over and over. Lol. It’s with baking items, it was next to peanut butter and jelly sandwich ingredients, it was the only logical answer. I’ve seen sandwiches where they put peanut butter and marshmallow fluff together, isn’t that called fluffernutter? And there are fudge recipes with marshmallow fluff and chocolate chips in them. It’s the only thing that made sense.
Same here, I always had it on peanut butter sandwiches growing up. It is indeed called a Fluffernutter, pretty much everyone from New England grew up eating it.

As an Australian I’ve never understood how Americans love root beer, it tastes almost savoury to me
It’s actually very common in America to not like root beer, it does have a very herbal taste. Very few people just drink it, it’s much more common as a float (I think you would call them spiders?) with ice cream, which makes it sweeter and milder.
