    Romans 10:9-10 Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
    1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

    This movie needs a director's cut with all deleted scenes in

      This scene was cut because by this point in the story they want you thinking of Titanic as its own little world from the moment it leaves Ireland, to cut away to other ships breaks that illusion.

    How was this not included? One of the most important parts of the whole voyage.

      It makes sense to be left out for a couple of reasons...
      James Cameron wanted to maintain the sense of doom of the Titanic sinking in the middle of a dark ocean with seemingly no other ship in sight. The Carpathia made for an exceptional mention, but it was going to be seen anyway since it was that which rescued the survivors.
      Plus, with this being the only instance of the Californian being present in the film, including the scene would just be pointless without having the rest; additional scenes shot of the crew reacting as they did to what they saw that night, along with their inaction in the end. And the inaction of the Californian would've been too big of an additional subject to include here when the main characters and historical figures on board already had more than enough story and focus to fill the film's runtime.

      @mrutty1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@ryanodonovan9497 Understand your points, however wasn't there another deleted scene where Smith is on the deck and sees a light and suggests that it is a ship, then he says why isn't it coming towards them? So there could have been both of those scenes to provide more background.

    • @ryanodonovan9497
      @ryanodonovan9497 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mrutty1 Again, you'd have to have more than just that scene (which I haven't heard of let alone watched yet) and the scene of the Californian reacting to getting rebuffed. But it'd add too much to the film when it was already really long. And the main focus of the film is that of Jack and Rose with their fictionalised tragedy taking place during a historical event, rather than the event itself. The involvement, or lack thereof, of the Californian is a completely different subject.

    • @mrutty1
      @mrutty1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ryanodonovan9497 the Smith deleted scene is another good one so I think those 2 scenes would then be enough. I agree that it wasn't meant to be a word for word historical retelling but there is still a lot in the film that is nothing to do with Jack/Rose - around an hour or so? It might not have made much sense to those watching purely for the love story but because they were watching it for that rather than the historical parts it wouldn't have mattered too much, but for the more factual watchers it would have been a nice touch.

      I find the scene a bit gimmickly and clichéic tbh. Also as Ryan says it removes the sense of isolation

  • @impagain

    The reason he told them to shut up is because their transmissions were coming in super loud and it deafened him while he was trying to work. Unfortunate miscommunication.

    Wow. All of that ice that the Californian is stopped near looks clear, dark, glassy and smooth just like the iceberg that the Titanic collided with.

  • @danwat1234

    James Cameron Commentary;
    So this whole scene was taken out. It shows the Marconi room in operation. You can see messages coming in thru the Marconi tube, which the operators woudl open and then transmit. They are completely back-logged. This is historically accurate. This was stepping stones leading to the disaster that we felt was necessary but turns out it wasn't.
    But here Jonathan Phillips the senior operator was in touch with the Californian who was near ice and stopped. But instead of heeding the warning, he sent back a message to shut up. The CA operator gave up for the night and so they never heard the Titanic even though it was closest to it. A lot of people feel this was a contributing-factor in the # of deaths.
    So here these guys are stopped right in the ice-field the Titanic is about to run into and were unable to warn her. Meanwhile, Titanic is still going 22.5 knots.

    I'm sorry but this scene being cut was a good choice. It doesnt feel like Titanic. It feels like I'm watching some kind of british comedy and doesnt fit the vibe of the film. Even if it is adding a bit more insight into what happens its not really relevant to the film and not needed to be able to understand whats going on.

    • @sodaroni_enthusiast
      @sodaroni_enthusiast 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Except it makes the titanics tale even sadder knowing that a ship only ten miles away could have come to the ships aid and saved more people if only the wireless operator hadn't snapped at them. You fucking non titanic enthusiasts really piss me off.

      @Becksnnc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@sodaroni_enthusiast I'm not a "non titanic enthusiast" whatever that means lol. I'm thinking solely filmwise. This scene doesn't really match the vibe for the rest of the film. And clearly James Cameron thought so to which is why it was cut. Don't need to get so pissy it's just an opinion.

      @MrLeermeister Yea I know the movie's inaccurate and all, but it did get me interested enough to search for the truth. Hollywood always lies. They say it's "artistic license" when they exaggerate the stories or add something that never happened. So I'm not surprised that it lied.

      Well, they missed the message, but they were able to see the Titanic from where they had stopped for the night and saw all of the distress rockets they fired, but ignored all of them and didn’t even bother to check for any messages until sometime after sunrise that morning when the SS Frankfurt was informing ships about the Titanic disaster.
