I happen to own the Eversolo DMP-A6 and the Pontus II DAC, and I can attest to the fact that both sound great together. To use a DAC further up the line, and to realize the benefits, will depend on the acuteness of your hearing and if the other components in your system can take advantage of a more resolving signal. I'm 65 now, so my hearing isn't as acute as it once was, so I'm happy with the streamer/dac combination I have.
There are lots of fanboys and it's human nature not to admit you made a mistake, the hype is quite lame and boring. It's a nice box, it's cheap but meh

I don't have this Eversolo yet but am considering it over the new Denafrips Arce mainly because the Arce has no bluetooth app for tablet control as it requires Wifi and I like to turn my router off at night when listening; even my nice much cheaper SMSL SD-9 player has bluetooth app control thru Hiby; I'm talking about bluetooth control of app for track access from ext ssd hdd and not bluetooth streaming of music. The Arce also doesn't have internal SSD like the Eversolo which is supposed to sound better than using ext SSD.
Hi Michael, it’s an interesting requirement. Indeed, Arce doesn’t have the BT app capability. I can’t be sure eversolo can be controlled via BT without a Network connection or not, though.
Alvin, I just watched the unboxing of Eversolo DMP A6 Master Edition and I am looking forward to your completed review as always since i have the Pontus II with an upgraded board.. My questions are, since i have a "Denafrips Iris DDC" will the Master Edition with an upgraded clock still be a noteworthy upgrade and 2) it appears i would be able to connect an eversolo via USB to the DDC which is in turn connected to the Pontus II I2S
It’s a great question! I will study it and dig more information about it - whether the Master Edition makes a difference if you use it as a Transport via USB Audio output.
Is it true that if you plug via usb an external hd you can only play it using the internal Dac? The system doesn’t permit using an external Dac in this configuration. Thks for your answer…
