I haven’t really dove in to listen to tool that much but the only song that I’ve listened to or at least been able to listen to is Right In Two
I like Tool, but I dislike the Aenima riff as well. Simply a LAME riff.

Here in Italy SNA is often associated with football since the 2006 FIFA World Cup, when (I think) the riff became a sort of "football hymn", and lots of people can't stand that song for that very reason
I used to til my school band would play it non stop at pep rallies and u could hear the song in the whole school from practices. Plus the movies and commercials that overplay it

Out of all of these, duuuude. Cherub Rock? Why? Like, is there a REASON? For this one especially, I'm just curious.
Are these things that you hate TO PLAY for whatever reason? Or is it just music/songs that you don't personally enjoy? That's really the question.
Cherub Rock just jumps out to me because I feel like a lot of the others are things that have been overplayed/overexposed over the years, but Cherub Rock sorta flies under the radar in that respect. Like... it was FAR from their biggest (or most annoying) hit.

I thought of it too at first, but then I realized that the more you listen to it the more you like it... at least that was for me... Though still, it's kinda scratching your head from inside a little bit when you listen to it.

No disrespect to anyone here, but I don't get Tool. I think they try to be complex and deep for the sake of it, and it just doesn't click.
Like yeah the time signatures are complex, doesn't mean they are necessarily good.

I like them quite a bit but I totally understand, their fans seem to big them up way more than the band themselves even believe. They're decent, that's about it
Tool fans are as pretentious as Radiohead fans; if you don't love their band they think you're clueless. That said, everyone should see Tool to see Danny Carey at least once. Guitar and bass are kinda boring and you can't decipher the lyrics unless you study at home first.
They are like the only band that doesn't make things complex for the sake of it. That's Dream Theater imo. They just add some spice here and there without losing any time with shredding or sections that go nowhere. That's my opinion though.
