in my opinion Karaikudi Mani is the only Legend who dedicated his entire Life only for Mridangam. He is a gift of God tothis world. How NADA is emanating from his Mridangam is a wonder to watch. I forget my Worries once I start hearing HIS. Kudos to Karaikudi Sir. Long LIve Mani Sir.

I am a beginner in Mirudhangham, Guru Ayya is always an inspiration to me. The alphabets which Ayya put is always sync but at the time they transpire in to all Solkattu ... Guru Vanakkam ❤

Words fail to describe the naada that is emanating.
Whatever way one may address such vidwans, they r in truth divine birth blessed by Goddess Saraswati. Their fingers just move as per divine tunes. Learning, practising or talent is not sufficient, it's destined by Goddess Saraswati bestowed with this gift

Just flawless. A real maestro. I wanted to learn playing Mridangam but fate had something else in mind for me.
Remember it’s never too late. Nothing stops you purchasing a mridangam and learning it. Pursue it!
It's never too late
I had learned mridangam during 1995-1997 time, couldnt continue mridngam afterwards, now I am touching 40, now I have again started learning, learning doesn't have any age
I am not indian but this music and especially the mridangam touch me. I would also like to learn this marvelous instrument. Maybe a good resolution for 2023

What is he chanting?
Récitation of rhythmic syllables. Konnakkol or solkattu. Basically he sings what he plays right after. Each syllables corresponding to a stroke on the Mridangam.
