  • an unbeaten ‪@CoventryCityFC‬ side welcomed top of the table ‪@LeedsUnited‬ to the ‪@CoventryBuildingSocietyArena‬ for a game where #franklampard was hoping to maintain his unbeaten home record.
‪@LeedsUnited‬ who have ben outstanding at home, but have slipped up away from hope came into this game on a massive lift after winning their previous game 7-0 against ‪@CardiffCityFC‬.
the #skyblues kept the same team that had won fir the first time ‪@SwanseaCity‬ at the weekend, with the new signing Matt Grimes on the bench.
The game started with ‪@LeedsUnited‬ playing some sensational attacking football, probably to good for the ‪@theEFL‬ Championship, where they were looking a threat from minute 1.
The #skyblues however were dealing with this early pressure, untill a short coal kick from Dovin, left Simms struggerling, who played a strange ball back towards his goal where Solomonfound the infomred #Piroe who slotted home to make it 1-0 after 17 minutes.
Less than 10 minutes later ‪@LeedsUnited‬ made it 2-0 when right back #Bogle ran a good 40-50 yards with the ball into the area where a mix up between Lati and Dovin caused the ball to become free and the full back took full advantage to score.
Rudoni had a good effort on goal for the #skyblues but really nothing else was offered.
At Half time BTA was brought off for Sakamoto, who made a difference to the way ‪@CoventryCityFC‬ played from an attacking perspective, however it would leave them a little open at the back as a result.
Matt Grimes made his Debut on the hour mark and actually looked the part and the type of midfielder ‪@CoventryCityFC‬ have been crying out for all season. He will make the difference as the season goes on.
The #skyblues did come close twice to scoring in the second half, First from #Simms, who i thought had a really good day minus the strange ball in the first half, were he met a headed cross from Bidwell only for the leeds keeper to make a fantastic Save to stop any advanatage ‪@LeedsUnited‬ had swining back into the #skyblues hands.
Liam Kitching also came close with a fanastic header from a Grimes Corner, he would have loved to score against his former club, and he wont come any closer.
Leeds did have the ball in the net just before the end of the game, replys show, maybe the offside flag was an incorrect decision and maybe the #skyblues were lucky not to go 3-0 behind.
all in all the game ended as a victory to ‪@LeedsUnited‬ who will win the league they are the best team in the championship this season, ‪@CoventryCityFC‬ however arent out the play off mix and maybe could still have a chance of joining them if they can carry on the good form they have had under their new manager #franklampard

FL showing how daft he is...playing such a high line vs the Leeds attacking front 5. Only terrible finishing on the day and a terrible 2 decisions(penalty and onside goal) saved an absolute monster battering.

You need a better option on the right Dan James isn’t the answer long term…
We weren’t at it really a game to far in terms of the run we’ve been on, but simms header goes in the game could have changed… we didn’t deserve it too mind.
Thought you were the best team Iv seen this season and that includes spurs… when you go up got to grab the bull by its horns and make sure you stay up unlike others…

I think both goal keepers had a say in that rather than terrible finishing

@@BDL1984 Yes gifting Leeds 2 goals early on set the stakes too high otherwise it may have been different. Did well to keep it at 2 .

The gulf in class was evident was neevous about this game as cov do pretty well against us .that seriously was the biggest 2 nil thrashing ive seen .if you take into account 2 deffo pens denied a goal that wasnt offside and the clear cut chances leeds had this could quite easily of been double figures .im shocked lampard played the high game against us that the teams we love to play asbyou saw many times we cut through you like a knife .you got some good quality players but i dont think you got the right man for the job .gd luck though for rest of the season .

The gulf was big I agree in terms of the quality, better last year maybe but when your best player Haji Wrights out along with mason clarke and sheaf and you also have grimes on the bench, I don’t think franks got the best team out…
We respected you to much in the first half, when we have been on it form the off in recent games..
Saying that simms scores his header, the game may have changed… not that we deserved it to btw…
You’ve won the league imo, though we won’t be far off the play offs….
