    Fun fact: The speaker mentions "tag" 76 times in the transcript! Thanks, ChatGPT.😄
    Fantastic video by the way - super helpful and informative! Thank you.

    I love nested tags but it does frustrate me that it doesn't treat #tag as separate to #tag/subtag, which means that any time you have a subtag, you can't use the parent tag anymore, unless you use #tag/ which is ugly.

    • @DannyHatcherTech
      @DannyHatcherTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not a big tag users so it doesn't affect me but I can see that being irritating.

    Danny thanks. Even when I think I know all about something you always come up with a few gems. Sometimes this is the result of watching an older video and extra/improved functionality in a new release goes unnoticed. Reading changelogs would be a terrible hobby though.

    • @DannyHatcherTech
      @DannyHatcherTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reading changelogs is what I do 😆
      The community plugins changelog is by far the longest but also the most exciting aha

    i knew about the tag wrangler plugin but i didn't know that it could make tag pages. so if i make my moc to tag pages by adding that alias i could make my moc links togglebar in the graph view by using tags instead of links. that would give me an actual use for tags that isn't doable with just using metadata like MOC:: [[moc subject]]. for dataview it doesn't matter if i search for a field or a tag. now is only the question how i structure the tags so that i don't create 20 tags with 10 subtags each.

    • @DannyHatcherTech
      @DannyHatcherTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The tag page, like I mention is just a normal page with an alias.
      I personally use very few tags and rely on all the implicit information a page has to filter pages. I use DB Folder on top of dataview to help with that - video coming soon 😆

    • @dovos8572
      @dovos8572 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DannyHatcherTech i can't use DB folder because i have nested metadata and it doesn't like how i wrote it. (it changes it to the key0: [{key1: [{key2: value}, {key3: value}]}] syntax or something like that)
      i just read the tag wrangler readme and it mentions that if you ctrl+left click or alt+left click on the tag it will open the tag page like if clicking a link. the only sad thing is that the local graph doesn't show depth over tags so in that way it isn't as usefull as links.

    • @DannyHatcherTech
      @DannyHatcherTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dovos8572 I have let DB folder format my metadata how it wants because the advantages far outweigh the format inconvenience 🤷‍♂️
      Granted not much of my metadat was changed.

    Great and crips video! But what is the point of the tag page?

    • @DannyHatcherTech
      @DannyHatcherTech  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't use tags, but many have various use cases for search.
      I personally prefer to just use search.

      I don't get a tag page either but I have seen some people use it like the Roam Researcher users.

    Stop using tags and find your notes using the search feature. Search doesn't get stale, nor need maintenance, nor up-front organization. I never stare at a document deciding which tags it needs. I already decided which words it needs -- that should do it (and it does if you use search). You can try it now at no cost to you.

    • @DannyHatcherTech
      @DannyHatcherTech  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed which is why I use the quick switcher but some people prefer tags 🤷‍♂️

    dude how do you even have multiple panes on the left side? you start out the tutorial with two panes. I have everything on the right.

    • @DannyHatcherTech
      @DannyHatcherTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are 2 side panels.
      If you have a plugin showing in the right side you can click on the icon in the side panel and drag it up down left or right to replace it.
