This is Angelina in Norway, age 11. She is not alone, Egil the guitarist is on her left - even though she uses the backing track - he was making her laugh before she started, somehow she held it together till the end. The other presence her is probably he Grandma, who would have been filming it. My view is that the song resonates with Angelina's understanding of the life that her Grandma has lived - I tell you she is one strong lady, she certainly took all the blows and did it her way - one day I would like to think that Angelina will write a biography of her Grandma - that will be the book to read!

Angelina is somewhat handcuffed by what key the backing tracking is available in, but if she was singing it with a band she could probably choose a higher key if she wanted to show off more of the power in her voice in a higher register. But I am happy that she chose the lower key backing track (probably the key Frank Sinatra sang it in) because she does not need to show of anything as we all know what she is capable of. And she was still able to sing the emotion of the song beautifully and with confidence. Fyi - came to watch this reaction because I just watched your reaction on 7th Heaven and enjoyed both of your views on that soon to be top of the charts hit song!

Angelina took this classic and right off the bat started to sing it very softly suggesting I have a story to tell you about the way I faced life's challenges and I hope you enjoy it. She performed the song beautifully and there is something to say about her persona when she sings to us. Her body language, her facial expressions are very much a part of every song she sings and when she looks at the camera her eyes go straight through to our own eyes. It's like magic! And, her smile challenges the Mona Lisa smile. Yes, I'm all in, hook, line and sinker! There is no escape. And, I choose to stay right where I am. In Angelina's world!

I know you recorded this before your reaction to Angelina's "7th Heaven" but I am listening to it after. I couldn't help but sense Angelina's unmistakable embrace of the spirit of this song not only in '7th Heaven' in particular but generally in how she is step-by-step advancing her career without regret or lack of confidence! We see it in her at age 7! It is an example of how she learns about life from the iconic songs she sings and applies those lessons in a way that seems unfeasible for such a young artist. I recently saw Paul McCartney asked in an interview how he was able to write such amazing songs. He replied that his parents exposed him to many hours of old music when he was small and he felt he drew from them when writing his own songs, then he added (tongue in cheek) that also...he was a genius. I think Angelina, like Mr. McCartney, checks both blocks (familiarity with a vast library of music and an incredible musical IQ). Great reaction again! Thanks.
