My dad sent me this video and told me how much he loved this song, these incredible musicians, and this company - the day before he passed away. We played this song in the car as we drove to his witnessed cremation and the song ended perfectly as we pulled up to the funeral home - he would have loved the timing. He was in a band as a young man with his two best friends and loved to play the drums and had a great singing voice. I often come back to listen to it and appreciate it as he did.
Is it just me or do the rest of you feel the same way? I find myself coming back to this video week after week after week. What an absolutely beautifully performed song with first class talent. My oh my...
This is just beautiful. I've watched it so many times and it still gives me chills. I love the last four bars of the head with all of the horns, and the descending notes that Gerald is playing. It's a great arrangement and it's played spot on. As soon as Gerald starts all the guys are like, "Yeah." You can tell they're totally into it. It's like what you'd want to play when you were a kid, if you were all grown up at the same time. Sniff. Music is beautiful man. lol
The only thing that can top the smooth sound of a tenor saxophone engaging is that of the baritone sax buzzing in the background holding things down. The instrument is a thing of beauty and so much fun to play. 👍🏽
Gerald Albright on tenor, super sweet! I used to think playing tenor was about the same as alto but, as I study The tenor, I realize they are so very different. What he is playing sounds amazing, awesome job.. it´s not easy wearing the two hats of alto and tenor at the level hés doing it. Kind of like Sonny Stitt.. he sounds like a tenor player on tenor.. awesome.
Cool hearing Gerald on a tenor sax…. Even cooler if he had a video playing the baritone. The horn players here are pretty hard to beat. Great arranging.
Já vi metais destruir em suas apresentações. Mais igual a esse grupo. Minha nossa qualidade excepcional. Top top. Qualidade musical excelente, vc se dá conta de som por som cada nota. Parabéns grupo.
That first note hit hard! I too would love to know the mouthpiece and reed set ups all the saxes are using here. It is one thing to have the Cannonball horns listed, but the mouthpiece/reeds used is another. It would help a lot to know especially when looking at these models to buy. On another note, GREAT SOUND, GREAT ARRANGEMENT!!!

One of my absolute favorite saxophone performances I've ever heard and it's a saxophone company promotion haha

Agreed! Nothing like a bari sax holding down! It is the foundation.
@@michaelalexander3927 absolutely!!!👍🏽😁
This rendition should have 20 million views instead of 200,000. Absolutely beautifully done.
