Vaishno Devi - Srinagar to Jammu via Katra

The final chapter of our Kashmir journey concludes with a spiritual touch. Our departure is scheduled for June 2nd, 2024, from Jammu. We designed our itinerary to include the Mata Vaishno Devi temple, as the trip would be incomplete without it. On May 31st, we set off for Katra in a rented car, arriving by evening to spend the night. Knowing we had only one day, we secured passes to expedite our darshan, which typically takes three days following the standard procedure. Bookings for the shuttle from Adhkumari to the main temple should be made two months in advance. However, due to time constraints, we had to forgo visiting Adhkumari and Bhaironag.
The drive from Srinagar to Katra was delightful, offering scenic views and the thrill of passing through tunnels. The flight from Jammu to Delhi was equally pleasant, with the morning sight of the Pir Panjal range being particularly memorable.
In essence, our trip to Srinagar was a tapestry of memories, experiences, and joy. Although it was my third visit to Kashmir, the desire to return remains strong.
