      @@juliehawkins3816 As for those who are criticising the film for not being 100 percent accurate. .as long as it gets people to ask serious questions like for example how on earth do you supposedly steal a body from under the noses of Roman soldiers. .then the film has done its job!

      @@budekins542 1st = how could the guards (both Roman and Temple) declare that Christ's followers took his body if they were after all SLEEPING...
      2nd = we (me too up until a year and a half ago) never read the KJV Bible, if we did we would never be deceived after reading the Holy Scriptures. We have to remember that Satan is very subtle, and he is a liar. There is always a little truth mixed in with his lies, if there weren't people wouldn't entertain his ways in the first place.
      When I said this is "Satanic" In was quoting Christ when He said "he that is not with me is against Me" in (Matthew 12;30)

    A nice touch at the end of the scene as Pontius Pilate washes his hands in the pool as he washed his hands earlier when handing down the guilty verdict against Christ.

    A lot of research went into this scene. Pilatus clearly mentions that the Sanhedrin decided to put him down, and that things were escalating so much he had to step in and crucify him.
    This shows perfectly that daily administration of regions and cities in the Roman Empire fell to the cities themselves with local rulers maintaining their say even after Roman conquest. Only when things got rough and became a threat to security the limited bureaucracy of Rome would be called into action. This is also why Kayafas wanted a Roman seal on the tomb; they were the impartial party in local politics. The political intrigue between Pilatus and the Sanhedrin is also very interesting in this film, with the latter never wasting an opportunity to increase their influence on the people.
    It’s nice to see a movie where Rome is not some godlike state everyone fears in awe of mighty legions. There was a lot of nuance in Roman rule, and actually a lot we can still learn from it.
    Anyway, this must be one of my favourite films ever. Thanks for uploading this scene!

    This is by far one of the best scenes in this movie. I liked how Clav met them in the room with disbelief and he had to go out and come back in just to see if he can believe. I would've been so freaked out and just not come back. Great scene. What would you have done?

    The year was 30AD the sixteenth year of Tiberius, the three hour long darkness was from a sandstorm from Egypt or a Volcano erupted a earthquake followed. Scientists found a landslide in Qumran and used Carbon 14 to date the time of an earthquake the results gave a reading of 29 to 31AD so it fits . Some time ago Caiaphas tomb was found in it two crucifixion nails there's more to the story one Josephus and Philo mentions him in their works .

    Great acting/scrpt and very original way of exploring the significance of the historical and controversial character Yeshua. Its interesting how the account of the life of a simple Jewish carpenter who lived 2000 yrs ago can create such powerful feelings and emotional reactions of both love and hatred. You only have to look in the comments section here to confirm this. Nevertheless, people should have the right to choose what ever belief system they feel gives them comfort, joy and a sense of meaning and purpose. History shows us that evil political regimes have caused great human suffering in the name of both science and religion. Its always oridinary people who seem to pay the price. The fact is the story of Jesus is either one of the most influencial, poetic and beautiful pieces of literature and fiction ever written by man or it is actually true. I am coming from a rational scientific and social science view point here as i am a nurse specialist. However, whilst i have witnessed a lot of human suffering, i have equally witnessed bravery, altruism and a sense of hope that i can not explain from the most ill patients. In my experiance when it comes to effective palliative care the scientific world view of nihilism is irrelevant, meaningless with no relation to many peoples sense of reality, especially when they are dying. .All i know is that i was really moved by the hope portrayed in some of the scenes in this movie and struggle to put into words why.. Wether we want to label this as a supernatural experience or not is irrelevant because it is actually the universal sense of justice, hope, peace and truth about human reality that is conveyed in the story of Yeshua that is most striking and is still shocking 2000 yrs later.

      Research The Bible Codes and there's all the evidence you need. Yeshua is the son of God. There are one of two places you will go when your body dies and you go be with Yeshua or you go to hell (Bill Wiese 23 minutes in hell)

      @georgedoyle7971 as you said "...people should have the right to choose what ever belief system they feel gives them comfort, joy and a sense of meaning and purpose." Unfortunately, those "belief systems" have too often been used to enslave and cause massive suffering, terror, and destruction to others. Power and control in the guise of "godliness".

    Pilot had intended to give Jesus mercy, because he considered him just some insane guy. They portray him as a horrible guy who cast his life aside like expired food, not someone who intended to have him spared.

      +Alex M By that reasoning, the disciple who offered to save Jesus from being captured by the Romans would have been wrong to not fight back, and any person whos inaction led to murder is the cause of it. Pilate was one of the many people telling the Jews "Wtf are you doing" yet it was ultimately them that led to his demise.

    Should we expect a more historical account of the story in this movie? Or is this just another battle between fiction and history?

    • @littlemissgemreads
      @littlemissgemreads 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Creative North I suppose it depends on whether or not you believe the Bible to be works or fact or fiction.

    • @Jonnyvonwallstrom
      @Jonnyvonwallstrom 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +LittleMissGem There have been so many versions of this story that were all based on biblical accounts, like for example the Passion of the Christ by Mel Gibson, wherein lots of illogical things appear just like for example the exaggeration of the fall of jesus face down while hanging on the cross. That incindent, if it really happened in history, would be enough to break his skull, so no last 7 words will follow. When I said historical, whether the bible is true or not, the story should stick to the original context, and should not be exaggerated by some promoters of their faith, just to make the story more believable.
