Greer makes some sick shit! I lived in Athens Georgia for a while, I went into their shop a few times and everybody there is a huge tone freak. They will talk to you all day about gear and tone. I always wanted them to make an octave up fuzz, my prayers have been answered. Definately gettin' this one.
Why do all BYOC and builders/modders come off like they're part of some mysterious elite faction that others can't comprehend? like anyone can't just google parts and only your secret cult knows where and how to aquire them, and only the chosen few are privy to prices... Sorry, that's just how it reads and anyone who throws around parts lingo comes off, in my experience.
Unclear if you're in reference to my post or the vid. The vid made reference to a discrete component. I wasn't sure if it was to be funny (spoofing all the specs that mention tubes) or serious. If serious why for a piece that costs four bits. Anything else and you're reading far too much into it. Some people like to discuss what is under the hood and others just like to enjoy the ride. This video engaged both I'd say. Have a good day.
it's not like they made four of these. if you're making them in the thousands, 0.50 * 4 = 2.00 per pedal as opposed to 8 cents. multiply that by the production number, and that's a significant increase in value.
I wondered how that part made a difference for the "mojo". I'm not sure what you're writing about at all. Justification of the price of the pedal? That wasn't discussed at all. Let me ask you: How do you know how many transistors they use in this? What do you suggest as the alternate that costs eight cents? And how does that relate to Mojo which was my original comment? All the best.
are you high? you're the one who brought up cost, not me. were you just casually pointing that out? of course not. don't be silly, we're not children. that said, i don't know, how about any NPN silicon transistor still in production, like a 2n5088? point is, it wasn't some random choice, perhaps they sound better than an off the shelf part in this circuit.
I have one and have to honestly say it's incredible and extremely versatile when it comes to tone shaping/stacking with other pedals...Just buy it!

Did you see cheese head there Hank?
On a roll with the Wilco riffs lately :D
The tones used for this and "Spiders" are DEAD ON.
I put my fuse fuzz in to my whammy ii, and sounds amazing, but this sounds great too
Love how this thing looks!
great sound
Never play with fuzz but this one calls the Elec Chicago Blues & i like it!
there wouldn't happen to be a poster of this man for me to put up in my room would there?
Haha
That last demo has the sound of When Does Fly intro guitar. Sweet pedal - love everything about it: graphics, stinger, tone !
When Doves Cry ?
good review I love this effect!
Wilco, nice
Love me some wilco!
Multicomp BC107B transistors cost about $0.50 each. I don't know about the mojo there in that part but maybe others use ICs in their designs.
