There's a true story of a white guy who became high up, well known, respected and equally feared man in the Yakuza... if I'm not mistaking, the only known white man (American at that) to be in the Yakuza. Can't remember his name, but he had a really brutal childhood and interesting life story
The Daisho is the badge of a Samurai, the Daito (katana) long sword and shoto ( Wakizashi) short sword are both for killing, if committing Seppukku a tanto (dagger) would be used
It was Musashi’s dirty fighting techniques that popularized the use of the Wakizashi in fights, while before hand it was just used as a back up blade that was kind of shameful to draw.
Most feared Yakuza leader? When i watched the movie, the vibe i get from MC is that he is more than a little out of place but nonetheless fully clad in Plot armour.
He's literally an edgy Gary Stu who gets everything handed to him even though the only thing he's good for is punching people. He literally went behind his sworn brother's back and slept with his sister even though he told him not to and the sworn brother was like "sure, that's cool I guess 🤷♂️"
There was less emotional expression in the act of this movie, i think it was not to show how intense japanese people could be in what they do but the reality in that these were people binged into a life that they can not walk out of dead or alive. Walking corpses. Interesting movie honestly.
I think the American actor being more awkward or lifeless at times fits perfectly with the idea of him being an outsider. He is not fully knowing of japanese culture or traditions. So it would make sense that he is more careful and reserved in what happens. Personally think 'critics' just hated the slow pace of the movie. Which I enjoyed as it set the scene and mood well.
The only one who bothered giving us anything with his role is the guy who played Orochi. The scene where the head of the family asks him to return and you can see him welling up was subtle but showed how it pained him to kill the man who practically raised him.
This movie reminds me of this one time when I was sentenced to 10 years in a Japanese prison, and then got recruited into the Yakuza and then became a boss after killing the fella who betrayed my old boss.
This is just movie. Actually the really history is one of a guy from Myanmar flew to Japan and concerned with Yakuza. That guys still alive in Thailand.
Never heard of the 'extremely military' branch before....lmao. What the heck does that even mean? "Is he in the military"? "OH, he's not just in the military, he's extremely military." Is that like soldiers on skateboards or something? Its the military, to the EXTREEEEME.
He was not a secret agent was he? I thought he was a US soldier? EDIT, weird the voice over corrects the title in the first 20 seconds. So why title is so incorrectly? Well I guess it got me to comment so many that is why. Touche.
Okay....... So now I'm really confused, because I know for a fact in Japan, one cannot be a cop, unless you are 100% Japanese. So what about the story of a Chinese becoming a Yakuza leader is also not true?
Lol..... That's right. My Son, who is currently a U.S. MARINE, corrected me on that. I didn't know that at the time, and he let me have it. I will never forget his response because he said exactly what you said, but with some " F- BOMB'S ".
@@RageUnlimitedLTD He is currently stationed in Seattle, Washington. When I asked him what is his job he told me security. But I'm not exactly sure. I'm army and I consider us ALL soldiers from the coast guard to space force. Idk why there has to be a distinction. You're an American soldier regardless of Branch.

While is true, there were times when wakizashi were used while in seppukku. The original porpuse of the sword remains the close-quarters combat.
Then there's the Daiso, weapon of frugal homekeepers.

They were lucky because he didn't appear as Morbius

There is no honor amongst thieves--even for a clan based upon honor.
Honor among thieves as a contradiction. That's why organized crime, or any criminal activity fails.
