Usually banana leaves are used traditionally in Bangladesh. But I guess the owner of this channel lives in some western country, hence the easier option for the western viewers:
Yes it’s compulsory if you want the original taste of morich khola. However, if you absolutely don’t want to or can not find mustard oil abroad then you can use any oil like flavourless oil like soyabean or canola oil but it will reduce the taste.
