    I was thinking about changing my degree to Environmental Studies. Right now it's Wildlife Conservation, BS, which is aimed at students who want to become field wildlife biologists, but I don't want to be a scientist. I'm interested in science, ecology, evolution, natural history, etc., but when I think about what I want to do for a career, I think more along the lines of wildlife conservation policy, or where science and policy meet. Sue Lieberman. I look up to where she is, going to the international conventions like CITES and CMS. I would like to learn more about what people like that actually do. I know it's something you have to work your way up to.

    Nicely put together video Kristina! What are your thoughts on paying for volunteer projects abroad? Do you think they carry a good experience? Since anyone can just buy and go? Or is it what you make out of it?

    Hi i am sorry to bother but i wanted to ask
    Although I’m still in high school i have to start searching for the right universities ... because there isn’t any kind of wildlife biology studies in my country
    I have to go to Europe and i don’t think there is a wildlife biology bachelor expect in the United kingdom
    And the possibilities in Switzerland are probably a bachelor in biology and then a master degree in ecology or a master in behavior economics and evolution
    Wich is the best option to become a wildlife biologist?

    • @kristina_lynn
      @kristina_lynn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Is there anything like ecology or environmental science? You can do that. In the UK it might be called zoology but there are definitely zoology programs in the UK.

      I have just completed my BSc in Zoology in UCC Cork, Ireland. Also options of ecology, environmental science, geology etc. There is a Wildlife Biology BSc in Tralee IT that is very good apparently. Also Marine Biology in Galway IT. So many options in every country I'm sure, just a matter of looking. Good luck!

    Can you be an environmental scientist with a wildlife biology degree?

    • @lutherevans968
      @lutherevans968 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, there are also degrees in Environmental Science, though, which is a bit more broad. I think of soil, water and air quality or or things like geology under Environmental Science. Wildlife biologists are a type of environmental scientist. The descriptions of the programs will say what jobs you can expect to get with them.

    • @sharks2571
      @sharks2571 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not neccesary needing a wildlife biology degree, but the large majority of environmental science/ conservation /wildlife jobs require at least a bachelors degree, and those jobs are very competitive. I am in marine biology specifically, and it is quite common to need a masters degree for jobs, but there still are jobs available with bachelors only (eg fisheries observer) .
