    Thank you for sharing this with us. You not only show us craft, nature, etc. … you show us connecting with people which is more and more important in this modern world so obsessed with technology. Making things with our hands is a direct connection to our humanity.

    Zed. I have watched your videos for many years now. This is the first time I have ever made a comment.
    In short … I am so pleased that there are individuals like yourself who have dedicated their time to helping others learn these amazing traditional skills. Not only for a constructive purpose, but for a general life enhancing way to reconnect with our natural world.
    Thank you for everything you and your fellow bush-crafters do for us all. 👍

    Thank you for the video. It might be the coolest thing I have ever seen. In my mind it would have been very difficult to make a spoon. By the demonstration it is way more logistical than imagined. Strange how one must first see it to fully understand the "why" of how things are done. Awsome video. Blessings for South Africa. 😁

    Another great video! I find Harald very good in explaining what he does and for what reason (but of course he is also a professional instructor). The green wood community is SO LUCKY to have you making al this invaluable material, Zed. And lucky that wood workers like Harald fancy to show their processes and thoughts. Thanks to both of you!

    Szia Zed! Én egy magyar nyugdíjas óvónéni vagyok, aki gyerekkorom óta imádom a kézművesség különböző fajtáit. Egy párat már tevőlegesen is kipróbáltam. Egy ideje rátaláltam a videóidra és rákattantam. Faragtam csanakokat is, most már három kanalat is.

:) ~Peace~

      Hi Josh, I sincerely appreciate your kind words and for watching. It's heartening to hear you've found these videos useful, I know the longer formats are not to everyones taste, but I am striving to encapsulate the entire process so that no stone gets left unturned. Zed. I'm very impressed with the quality of Harald's teaching here. I've enjoyed many other spoon carver videos too from you. I have to make one small complaint. A bit of camera work improvement would help many of us a lot. The camera pans thru things way too fast in the beginning. You can't even pause it because it is blurry. Also, while it is very nice to go from far to near, the jiggling of the camera is so pronounced that it really detracts from the experience. I realize that you don't have a professional camera crew, but keeping the camera on a tripod or something would help. Would I prefer a slick video? nope. This is great, as have your other videos. keep them long is fine. But it would help. For those of us that want to take screenshots of sections to compare to our own carving, it would help a lot. thanks.

    • @Zedoutdoors
      @Zedoutdoors  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, Paul, I appreciate you watching and for the kind words regarding Haralds teaching, he's a stellar guy. Reg the feedback reg my filming, yes I have lots to learn and try to improve that bit more every time I film. Reg the jiggling of the camera, until I am able to afford a gimbal, I can only try my best to keep the camera still and it is important that I hold the camera as opposed to being on a tripod so that I can capture the many different angles whilst the subject is doing his/her thing. Reg panning around too fast, yes I will take that on board, but also bear in mind that I don't want to spend too long focused on one thing otherwise the video will end up a lot longer than it currently is. Filming a video tutorial of this nature is actually a very hard thing to do as I am trying to capture so many different things and at a dynamic pace due to keeping up with the craftsperson I am documenting. Also, I try my best with the equipment I have and in a relatively short time frame on the day of filming. That being said, I have lots to learn and improve upon when it comes to filming ~Peace~
