I wish that you could actually uncorrupt a harpy back to a siren and it would be like an npc, and like the shroom npc it would inhabit a sky island house if it had a form of light, of course.
Just saying it now, official terraria lore confirms Wyverns are extremely intelligent, proven on a trading card that comes with Collectors Edition. The card has a quote on it saying “few mortals know I can speak their language”. It also says they contain the essence of terraria, and were kind creatures until they were corrupted. But great video:)
Often times they are depicted with great knowledge and in some cultures ancient river spirits physical manifestation takes a wyvern form but for terraria that smug smile says it all
My theory for why the Enchanted Swords are lodged so deeply underground is that they were actually extremely heavy due to the magic used to make them. The only reason the Sirens could use them was due to their powerful souls of flight. So when it's wielder was corrupted its lightening magic was as well and they would fall to the earth at great speed, drilling deep through the rock till they lodged. Then, as time passed, the magic which made them so powerful slowly leached into the earth around it, forming the "shrines" that they are found in. The Arkhalis is actually the same as a normal enchanted sword, just a younger one that hasn't lost the same amount of magic.
Huh neat but if you find a Sword shrine have you noticed that it can be found only through one block gaps and that they only are down the hole if there's dirt and forest blocks not jungle blocks

hmm just one problem... how did the corruption "retreat"? in the game we see nothing of the "retreating" of the corruption OR the crimson. the only things that would work against those would be to either remove large chunks of blocks, use purification powder or green solution with a clentaminator, or to let the hallow "override" the corruption/crimson.

Well, now I gotta criticize some more, 1) Why use souls of flight when you just just use Terrarias broken physics by making a giant dirt tower then place whatever blocks you wanted then destroy the dirt tower, 0 souls of flight required, 2) You make them "capturing the stars themselves" seem so impressive, but it is entirely possible to get like a dozen a night, as long as you get them before morning, 3) What about the Jungle? I mean surely they could have tried to check on the Dryads and the Jungle, which are unaffected by the corruption, 4) If the Corruption got up to the Sky level and infected the Sirens/Harpies, then why are the floating Islands unaffected by the corruption if it was "so virulent", I mean it's painfully obvious that it affects plants, so what makes the Sky Islands any different? 5) Also wouldn't their downfall have been guaranteed anyways? I mean if they did go to fight the corruption earlier, they would have been infected all the same wouldn't they?
