of what i've seen on reddit, there is a huge chunk of people who don't want a stressful or hard experience playing against real players. They just want lobbies where they can chill, complete challenges and win without breaking a sweat. That said, the other side is totally against bots, rightfully so, we all know the reasons. So having an option of turning bot lobbies off and on in settings is the best solution.
i can't believe people were actually begging for bots like it's a BATTLE ROYALE game you are not meant to win every couple games. Winning actually felt so rewarding when it was with only actual people. The whole vibe falls off with bots, it literally dilutes all aspects of the game (kills, wins, anything)

It was rewarding but you failed to grasp that everyone was sweaty as hell before they added bots every time I tried the OG mode. Most people fall into that "middle" range that gets 10-90 bots. It varies for me. Skill Based seems to kick me back and forth. I cycle between getting my rear handed to me, then getting bumped down to a bot heavy lobby, and winning vs 20 or 30 real players. It sucks.

It's not so much feeling entitled to win, it's more feeling entitled to enjoying the game, which I think is fair. It's about being casual, letting off some steam after work or school. If you drop in and there's sweats in every lobby, that feels like shit. It actually turned me off from OG. I agree that winning against bots has less weight than if it's players, but I'd rather a consistent 8/10 game over the occasional 10/10 in a sea of 5/10 games. That being said, I agree it should be separate. I'd say that bots are more for the casual players, so should stay in the casual/public playlist. If you really want to go against 100 players, you probably have a more competitive mindset that ranked is designed for.

Me and my friend queued in to a squad fills game yesterday, but the 2 fills died of spawn and left. Me and my friend lived, we made it to the last squad and won. The feeling of Finally winning after fighting a lobby of real people is a feeling I’ve not had in a long time.
Seriously, Fortnite should add an option whether to play with real players, bots or both. As a casual player, I do struggle against most players I find mainly because I don't play to tryhard, I play to have fun. Getting owned every single time doesn't feel like fun anymore. I want at least a chance. Make in through most of the game, get some kills, if I win good. If I don't at least I had a good game, but if I'm constantly against players who are by far better than me, I can't even make top 50. Playing with bots should be an option. Let players looking for the thrill play against real players and let those who struggle in better lobbies fight easier enemies, it's that simple. Epic's decision to force bots into every game is a bit controversial.

Just thought about that Bot on/off option yesterday. I hate bots. They take away the thrill of getting wins. And also skill based matchmaking is back. Won once and every game after was hell. Unlike launch day and yesterday where I won 5 games in consistent lobbies

Dude, I like the bots but not 90 of them. I’ve been playing since chapter 1 season 5 and I only play casually now. I don’t have time to learn to build fight because I actually have stuff to do, so not everyone feels like that. I think there should be a max of like 20 bots in a lobby.
I honestly like the bots because they simulate actual noobs from CH1 S1. Like how it used to be. It makes it feel more OG. You know a player is a sweat if they don't like seeing the occasional noob or bot.
As someone who came back to Fortnite after multiple months, it can only get so OG. The new movement changes everything, and nobody really knew how to build or edit back then. The people that complain saying that winning against real players is rewarding have a point, but they fail to fathom that not everyone is/has been spending half of their life getting good at the game. Some of us want a chill OG experience without getting beamed upon landing for 4 hours straight
I collect win umbrellas so I try to win. BUT when 99 players are sweating their nuts off and ruining my casual gaming in the gamemode that was my childhood, its not fun
I don't think the people who want bots realize that there will ALWAYS be players at an equal skill level or worse than them no matter how bad you are. Bots are not the answer, an effective skill based matchmaking system would yield the same result for players: an easier time winning in which every player you face isn't a soulless line of code.
I think sbmm is also pretty dumb. Did you really win a match if people better than you were purposefully put in a different match? It's definitely more tolerable than bots tho.

I agree that there should a bots on/ off feature, but saying bots are bad I personally disagree because it helps people like me that that just get on the game when they can and play games or level up.
The thing is that the community did this to itself. Epic added bots to OG because on every piece of social media advertising OG there were hundreds of comments complaining that the game was “too sweaty.” The only logical solution to that complaint is to add SBMM and consequently bots. The community has to realize that Epic can’t realistically satisfy both those who hate the sweats and those who hate the bots. I agree though that the game should be hard and players these days feel too entitled to wins.
Bots make the game boring, and I am a bad player. It is so demoralizing to have to kill bots instead of having the satisfaction of real players. OG Fortnite should have a ranked mode. NO SBMM FOR OG FORTNITE!!
The "On/Off" solution might sound weird; literally saying in people's faces if they want an easy win or not. But i really doubt anyone thinks these fortnite AIs are real players to begin with. Fr, SBMM is a great change because it lets old players come back and play against people who aren't very good either. if I came back after 7 years to OG without SBMM the way it was a day ago I would probably give up after dying within 2 minutes 10 times. Bots on the other hand are just dumb.
Yes definitely SBMM was introduced in season 10 but bots weren’t introduced until chapter 2 so there was a period in fortnite where there was SBMM but no bots

As someone who can only play on Switch Lite this is actually helpful. I always have to go against a few real players to win a match anyways. But its so much harder to get even close to winning when the lobby is full of people with at least twice the frame rate on any other console, but mostly PC players with over 5x the fps. Not to mention the vastly superior view distanxe they have, and the bigger screen. Meanwhile im stuck on the equivalent of Performance Mode on PC, but capped at 30 fps, on controller, on a screen smaller than my phone. Having entire lobbies full of PC players means I either won a fight against an objectively bad player, or got deleted instantly by someone who could see me before its even possible for me to see them. the only way I would ever be able to win is if I got good loot off spawn, hid all match, then got lucky enough so that the last player wasnt a sweaty PC player with 300 fps. But considering they're the last person alive, odds arent exactly in my favor. And that's just not fun. My point, bots probably shouldnt be enabled in OG for everyone, but Switch players with an objective disadvantage should be able to turn off cross platform lobbies. Or they could just sinply have an option to turn bot lobbies on/off. Being in a lobby full of PC players with 300 fps and better performance in general makes it pretty much impossible for me to win unless I get very lucky.
I dont care if its “more fun to kill real players” (its not it doesnt feel ANY DIFFERENT) there is ZERO reason why im constantly stuck in Unreal rank lobbies when im not even in ranked OR am that good.

Hi, HJDoogan. I think you should also talk about turbo building. It used to be a lot harder to build and was only really present in the form of ramp pushing and forts, now people are cranking and it's not fun to play against. Yes I can sweat and crank, and after a fight I just feel exhausted rather than rewarded. They did nerf it in S10 but that was just bad timing in my opinion, with mechs and the minigun. But hear me out, when that turbo building nerf came out, all the remains of build fights I saw around the map looked like they came from early season 3.
the most stupid thing is that i want to be in bot lobbies and i even have an secondary account on level 0 to (if everything is alright) get bot lobbies, yet i get lobbies full of players that want to qualify for tourdaments
People forget winning is the end goal of this game. And while a challenge is great, losing for 8 whole hours due to no kind of sorting or bots will demotivate the majority of players. Bots are less frequent if you are more skilled at the game, and if you really want it to be hard, then just play ranked, where there are no bots. Fortnite is a business and as such they want to maximize profits by ensuring they maintain a steady player count

I went on average 1 solo win per season back in chapter one but it was still the most fun I have had in fortnite you don’t need to win to have fun bots just make lobbies lifeless every since they added bots lobbies go down a lot quicker than they use to ruining mid game
I played ten OG games before the change (where there were not bots and people of all ranks were in there) and decided to never touch it again. Virtually all the players were pros so it was no fun and I noticed the vast majority of comments last weekend agreed with this.
They added bots not only because of those reasons in the video but because of the massive player count that will go down in the future once Fortnite OG is a normal thing for people. People will get bored and there will be games with less than 100 people in every match!
i play on a potato laptop thats sold for around 50 bucks and with the lags i am loosing against bots so this helped me to get a win after hours of gameplay
This hasn’t been my experience at all lol im getting got by real players and have only seen like 3 bots out of maybe 7-10 matches but I also don’t look at the killfeed as much as I used to and that’s the easiest way to tell if it’s a bot. Im not even good. Overall, from season 2 til now I have like a 1.2KD and a 3% win rate lol
I think there's a good argument to be made for bots on the game, especially for the newer players that want to have that OG experience everyone talks about but felt let down when getting sent back to the lobby in 5 seconds. As well as the sweats being very annoying to fight against, because in the OG times every players was kind of new, all the player base was learning how to get better at the same time, but now with a mix of very new players and very old players there's really a big gap in the skill for the game, so adding a SBMM is an optimal solution. That being said, all of this argument would be valid if we didn't already have another battle Royale mode that already had SBMM called Chapter 6 Season 1, if the newer players want to have a calm experience with no sweats they can just go normal battle Royale and stay there while the people who truly waited for the OG map to happen again can enjoy Chapter 1 once again
But since people are complaining about bots, they should add a new SBMM system where they put the noobs in noob lobbies, the decent players in decent lobbies, and the sweats in sweaty lobbies, so it would be a way more fun and fair experience instead of having bots to balance out the lobbies.
I've had more fun getting beamed these past 2 days by sweats in ZB (in fact, I even got a W and the umbrella which was what I was after so after that, I started playimg more casually) than having to deal with the bots bs again.
I honestly agree with how the community feels I only had gotten 1 win when og dropped and although I lost so many games, when I finally got that win after so many hours it felt satisfying and made me feel like i was good because I got a win, now that bots are in og I get maybe 3-4 bots a game that I eliminate it doesn’t feel rewarding at all because I don’t wanna fight bots I wanna fight real players, that’s what made chapter 1 feel so rewarding to win in

I honestly like the bots because they simulate actual noobs from CH1 S1. Like how it used to be. It makes it feel more OG. You know a player is a sweat if they don't like seeing the occasional noob or bot.
As someone who came back to Fortnite after multiple months, it can only get so OG. The new movement changes everything, and nobody really knew how to build or edit back then. The people that complain saying that winning against real players is rewarding have a point, but they fail to fathom that not everyone is/has been spending half of their life getting good at the game. Some of us want a chill OG experience without getting beamed upon landing for 4 hours straight

I don't think the people who want bots realize that there will ALWAYS be players at an equal skill level or worse than them no matter how bad you are. Bots are not the answer, an effective skill based matchmaking system would yield the same result for players: an easier time winning in which every player you face isn't a soulless line of code.
I think sbmm is also pretty dumb. Did you really win a match if people better than you were purposefully put in a different match?
It's definitely more tolerable than bots tho.

The thing is that the community did this to itself. Epic added bots to OG because on every piece of social media advertising OG there were hundreds of comments complaining that the game was “too sweaty.” The only logical solution to that complaint is to add SBMM and consequently bots. The community has to realize that Epic can’t realistically satisfy both those who hate the sweats and those who hate the bots. I agree though that the game should be hard and players these days feel too entitled to wins.
Bots make the game boring, and I am a bad player. It is so demoralizing to have to kill bots instead of having the satisfaction of real players. OG Fortnite should have a ranked mode. NO SBMM FOR OG FORTNITE!!

No they haven't! If your sweaty enough to complain about bots you will be in a lobby with only about 10. That's part of the SBMM system. Fr, SBMM is a great change because it lets old players come back and play against people who aren't very good either. if I came back after 7 years to OG without SBMM the way it was a day ago I would probably give up after dying within 2 minutes 10 times. Bots on the other hand are just dumb.
Yes definitely SBMM was introduced in season 10 but bots weren’t introduced until chapter 2 so there was a period in fortnite where there was SBMM but no bots

As someone who can only play on Switch Lite this is actually helpful. I always have to go against a few real players to win a match anyways. But its so much harder to get even close to winning when the lobby is full of people with at least twice the frame rate on any other console, but mostly PC players with over 5x the fps. Not to mention the vastly superior view distanxe they have, and the bigger screen.
Meanwhile im stuck on the equivalent of Performance Mode on PC, but capped at 30 fps, on controller, on a screen smaller than my phone. Having entire lobbies full of PC players means I either won a fight against an objectively bad player, or got deleted instantly by someone who could see me before its even possible for me to see them. the only way I would ever be able to win is if I got good loot off spawn, hid all match, then got lucky enough so that the last player wasnt a sweaty PC player with 300 fps. But considering they're the last person alive, odds arent exactly in my favor. And that's just not fun.
My point, bots probably shouldnt be enabled in OG for everyone, but Switch players with an objective disadvantage should be able to turn off cross platform lobbies. Or they could just sinply have an option to turn bot lobbies on/off. Being in a lobby full of PC players with 300 fps and better performance in general makes it pretty much impossible for me to win unless I get very lucky.

Bots are just a way of lying to players. I'd be fine if they were honest about only having 60 players in a match with SBMM, but instead they pretend its a full lobby by faking the rest of the players

Hi, HJDoogan. I think you should also talk about turbo building. It used to be a lot harder to build and was only really present in the form of ramp pushing and forts, now people are cranking and it's not fun to play against. Yes I can sweat and crank, and after a fight I just feel exhausted rather than rewarded.
They did nerf it in S10 but that was just bad timing in my opinion, with mechs and the minigun.
But hear me out, when that turbo building nerf came out, all the remains of build fights I saw around the map looked like they came from early season 3.

People forget winning is the end goal of this game. And while a challenge is great, losing for 8 whole hours due to no kind of sorting or bots will demotivate the majority of players. Bots are less frequent if you are more skilled at the game, and if you really want it to be hard, then just play ranked, where there are no bots. Fortnite is a business and as such they want to maximize profits by ensuring they maintain a steady player count

I went on average 1 solo win per season back in chapter one but it was still the most fun I have had in fortnite you don’t need to win to have fun bots just make lobbies lifeless every since they added bots lobbies go down a lot quicker than they use to ruining mid game
I played ten OG games before the change (where there were not bots and people of all ranks were in there) and decided to never touch it again. Virtually all the players were pros so it was no fun and I noticed the vast majority of comments last weekend agreed with this.

They added bots not only because of those reasons in the video but because of the massive player count that will go down in the future once Fortnite OG is a normal thing for people. People will get bored and there will be games with less than 100 people in every match!
i play on a potato laptop thats sold for around 50 bucks and with the lags i am loosing against bots so this helped me to get a win after hours of gameplay

This hasn’t been my experience at all lol im getting got by real players and have only seen like 3 bots out of maybe 7-10 matches but I also don’t look at the killfeed as much as I used to and that’s the easiest way to tell if it’s a bot. Im not even good. Overall, from season 2 til now I have like a 1.2KD and a 3% win rate lol
I think there's a good argument to be made for bots on the game, especially for the newer players that want to have that OG experience everyone talks about but felt let down when getting sent back to the lobby in 5 seconds. As well as the sweats being very annoying to fight against, because in the OG times every players was kind of new, all the player base was learning how to get better at the same time, but now with a mix of very new players and very old players there's really a big gap in the skill for the game, so adding a SBMM is an optimal solution. That being said, all of this argument would be valid if we didn't already have another battle Royale mode that already had SBMM called Chapter 6 Season 1, if the newer players want to have a calm experience with no sweats they can just go normal battle Royale and stay there while the people who truly waited for the OG map to happen again can enjoy Chapter 1 once again

I think it's good that they added skill-based matchmaking back to OG, but the bots are just completely uncalled for.

I've had more fun getting beamed these past 2 days by sweats in ZB (in fact, I even got a W and the umbrella which was what I was after so after that, I started playimg more casually) than having to deal with the bots bs again.
I honestly agree with how the community feels I only had gotten 1 win when og dropped and although I lost so many games, when I finally got that win after so many hours it felt satisfying and made me feel like i was good because I got a win, now that bots are in og I get maybe 3-4 bots a game that I eliminate it doesn’t feel rewarding at all because I don’t wanna fight bots I wanna fight real players, that’s what made chapter 1 feel so rewarding to win in
