Can't wait for this bike to come out. It is a great upgrade from the 660 and in yellow wow. I think they went with the old TFT because it is fast with zero delay. They are still struggling with the user experience of the new TFT display on the Tiger 900 and 1200 models. They will probably upgrade the TFT in the 800 model in two years or so. I could care less. I like the older display. easy to read and also better than the first Tiger 900 display. I'll be one of the first buyers if I can get a hold of one.. in yellow of course.
I don’t know why people complain about the screen, is not an expensive bike, it has everything I need on a bike, I could care less about the screen! I love the price, to me, that’s what counts! 😊
People hating on the display are nuts dude. I put a downpayment to get one already. Should arrive at my dealer in March. I own an MT09 with a tft display and honestly the only things I need on the display is rev counter, fuel gauge and speed. Having the gear indicator is nice too. This bike has all of that information, I don't know what the fuzz is about, if having that display will keep the bike at a lower cost, then please keep the display. Adding a fancy tft display will probably bump the price up to Trace 9 prices, I rather have a lower quality display to keep the price lower.
@soloq_bunchofnumbers I get it but if you want a modern junk tft so bad go get one. Looks like you prefer a worse preforming bike with a pretty dash instead of a nicer bike with one bad dash
@@radicalkonrad765 No I prefer a good bike with a good dash Im just saying Triumph saving money on this dash is a terrible idea. Like just use the one from the Stripple rs.
Excellent overall package. I will happily upgrade from my 2012 tiger 800. Adjustable suspension, 17” front wheel and more power at the same weight sounds perfect.
The display is fine. I've got it on my Striple R and I much prefer it to the overly busy RS one. I think they'd have to really change the seat, I hate the one on the 660.
Exactly. I don't see the issue, especially since with motorcycles, you need to be even more road focused than riding in a car. It's uncluttered and inobtrusive and clearly shows you the data you need (your speed and fuel) and get your eyes back on the road. If you're riding a motorcycle, you shouldn't be looking at the dash for long.
Everything about this bike is perfect!!……except the display. They need something like what’s on the Honda’s CB1000R. Small TFT. Do that Triumph, and you’ve nailed it! Maybe offer optional color matched hand guards to, for those colder rides. Love that yellow!
Great bike in my opinion which makes a lot of sense due to its versability. I hope they will even bring a 1200ccm version with a slightly downtuned speed triple engine.
Looks great! I would have preferred a slightly more aggressive front end (think harder lines on the headlights) but overall its a very nice looking bike!
BMW F800GT was masterpiece by rotax, 213kg , 86Nm at 5800rpm + amazaing belt drive, Triumph 800 Sport 214kg, 84Nm at 8500 rpm, just less power 90 vs 115hp power - 800-900cc class is the the best power/weight ratio for daily. New Triump Yellow Cosmic beautiful bike..., just dash looks cheap. Should be new Bmw F900GT with quickshiter, cruise control, belt and 110-115hp would be absolutely ideal bike.
While I admit the display is not the best I have seen. Overall the bike looks fabulous and the display would not put me off buying this bike. I currently own a 2014 1050 sport and its a great bike.
It somehow looks a bit bigger than Sport 660 i.e. longer. Is that the case for the overall length or wheelbase..?

The dash is awful not because it lacks colors or even being low res... it includes all the necessary information (haven't seen any turn by turn, but it should be ok, as I am used to a beeline)... What I am gripping about are those white lines... it looks something the car manufacturers from the 80 would paint over the car dash to make it more Racy... awful just awful... unfortunately It is a place you are constantly looking to. maybe some clean replacement will be made available from 3rd party vendor... even if just as a sticker.
I did a test ride on a 660 adventure and liked it, but the engine felt lacking compared to my rs. The new 800 is a shut up and take my money bike, even with the ugly display
Cutting costs on features to be competitive price is false economy. The dash is primitive and ugly. Cruise control should be standard. And, 835mm for shorter riders? You’re joking. Shame they spoiled potentially a perfect bike. And, some regular shape panniers please.
Because the specifications of the Tiger 850 Sport and Tiger Sport 800 are too close, it seems like the division between the intended buyers has become unclear.
I don't know about that. Cruise control, six-axis IMU, quick-shifter and adjustable suspension as standard on the 800. The 850 wins out on size and presence I think though.
Hmm, is it different enough from its smaller sibling? I would be much more interested if it had the 1200 engine returned for midrange. Maybe I'm out of the loop, and smaller capacity is the future!
Virtually the same specs as my 2020 Tracer GT. Would it be worth the swap I wonder? Does it come with heated grips? That display is just awful! If they fitted a descent TFT like on their other models, then they'd have a definite winner here.
Triumph should just stop all this nonsense and give it Apple car play. Would rather they charge a bit more to complete the bike for what people actually need.
Not impressed: Triumph discontinued the original Tiger Sport 1050 and now are trying hard to make of the new 800cc a big deal, when it has less 11hp and 25nm of torque. And i don't see a top box on the 800cc as well, something very handy for every day use and touring... Will Triumph ever make a true comeback of the Tiger Sport?
You're right, i checked their online configurator and actually there's s top box available and also with capacity for 2 helmets! I'm still disapointed especially with the engine and i don't know what to think about some more details... (Fuel tank capacity, handguards not standard, no option for electronic suspension...)

The dispay is a deal breaker for me. It looks like it belongs on a Chinese 50cc scooter
That's a you problem. What matters is the bike and how it feels not a display
I agree. Could be a hard pass
@@radicalkonrad765 If i'm spending my money the whole package matters. If CF moto can put a normal TFT on their 6000€ bike why can't Triumph.

Overall... except that terrible, terrible dash.
For real but I think the rest is good enough to deal with the dash
@@radicalkonrad765 It probably is and it surely does what is has to do, it's just disappointing, like not belonging there :/
Yes it does not really belong, this bike should have been a 1200cc triple not an 800 when there's already the 660, barely makes any sense.
@@fs5866 it's an in-between class just like every other class
This is really the type of motorcycle that I want. Current 1290 super adventure owner, could definitely see owning this

I have only 3 words to say: I want one!
Looks great. Very smart move from Triumph. Will sell extremely well.

The display is actually quite functional.
Sounds near on perfect aside from that dash. It wouldn't put me off completely but it's a real wart on an otherwise attractive bike
While I admit the display is not the best I have seen. Overall the bike looks fabulous and the display would not put me off buying this bike.

What are valve adjustment intervals like? Premium or regular gas? Gas consumption?
I wait 2 years then ill see how dash improves
I have seen confirmation from Triumph that this is a 120degree crank like the 660, not a T plane like the Tiger 850/900/1200
I love it, but the dash is dated! Really bad!

where's the RS version ?
Will be in the Daytona 800 all ready for World Supersport
Awesome bike but they should have addressed that screen. It looks too 90's and kind of mediocre.
the display looks soo cheap :(
My 10 year old honda 800VFR has a better screen!
