Twenty years of almost daily listening. I have never been bored, i am always inspired and amazed! Elliott is the most important and long-standing teacher I have ever had. Thank you, Elliott, for allowing me to learn from watching, and listening to you, even though you may never have intended to be a teacher to anyone. With all my love.

I agree. I listen to alot of the same music over and over, but few I listen to this much without getting sick of it for a while. Happy or depressed or angry or sad or grey or confused or belligerent or crying out to the heavens with joy, whatever mood I'm in he's there for me, but most especially when I'm down. I've never gotten sick of him somehow.
Elliott, I miss you so much man. Discovered you around the time you died, just before or just after I'm not sure. But you've helped me so much. I keep you in my prayers for what it's worth. You help alot of people brother. I dearly wish I could have seen you live, but I have your music regardless. Hope to meet you on the other side one day. This is not hero worship, just one person being glad for the life of another. God bless, you wonderful person.

Outros artistas também me fascinam (Judee Sill, Yoñlu, Nick Drake, Alex Chilton,Brian Wilson, Harry Nilsson, The Beatles, The Zombies, Christopher Owens, Margo Guryan), mas Elliott Smith será sempre "separate from the rest", alguma coisa nele ainda é muito diferente.

no. Elliot wrote some good songs with interesting changes. not the most amazing vocalist - I know you are kidding but someone might read that. Just a great tortured artist that left us to soon.

His vocals were very good. Heard his cover of “Because”? He could sing beautifully but he was a mix of a lot of things, and he had some punk rawness in there. He could easily have his it with studio trickery or trying to just he more polished all the time. Instead we got the real deal, including his flaws. His vocals on XO are thoroughly great. A polished studio environment can do that and his voice was about as good as John’s in it’s own way. Paul has more range but stylistically and especially his octaves, but they never hit me with as much realness and emotion as John’s and Elliott is def a John type. I would consider him as talented at songwriting as any individual Beatle, but he is of course the one who in indebted to them and shamelessly admitted they were his favorite band and that he was highly influenced by them. Still he had his own thing going and was a great, unique guitarist, pianist, and singer. I see no issues with his voice unless you’re expecting some American Idol type of deal.

Actually towards the end it sounds like there's a delay, unintentional, probably coming from the sound desk. Actually really hard to perform through that... and with the heckling, elliott does such an amazing job ❤

Y'know, I always forget how much I like Rose Parade until I hear it live.
The album recording's kinda forgettable to me and I admittedly get bored playing it myself, yet when I hear the unique passion of his live recordings it really strikes a chord.
