Yeah it's not the easiest to carry around, particularly up and down stairs. Gotta put your back into it, so prob not suitable for the elderly or infirm.
So my far better hoover smartwash broke (my fault, I left it out in the rain). So I ordered this one which was $300 cheaper. I find the brushes much, much softer and they don't gets deep in the carpet. That being said, the smartwash definitely isn't worth $300 more, even if the front sucker part pops off for easy cleaning. The XL is far better value for money
Thanks! I'm not sure if they're supposed to be used on hard surfaces? I've had a lot of difficulty cleaning grout, even having to scrub it manually with a brush.
@ thx, will go to a store and check.. we replaced our standard grout with epoxy grout, it is truely truely amazing all I need is a nail brush and morning fresh… bit expensive but no matter what liquid drops on it or dirt/grime cleans in 2 seconds… and 25 year guarantee 👏👏
I just brought on of these Hoover models from one of our major appliances store in Australia - GG. CASH buy brought the price way down 👏 Anyway I put this appliance together and off we go. I only did 1 large rug on the quick was mode, in my family room, and felt so sick with the colour of the dirty water 😵 I vacuum daily anyway, however the Hoover Power scrub XL is a power horse carpet shampooer. A question as I have some Bissell cleaning products, ( Pre-wash spray, Pet shampooer and Oxy booster), can I use these in my new Hoover? Thank you
I found that dirty water oddly satisfying 😅 I would ASSUME they would work (I mean if it cleans, it cleans), however I'm sure Hoover would prefer you use their products. As long as they don't damage your carpets or the machine, they should be fine?
I bought it a week ago at goodguys for 299. Same thing, I thought it was faulty because it the clean tank way it sat..lol . It IS very good. I replaced the older Hoover turbo scrub with two upper tanks that my movers stole. That was way more sturdier but I think the tech has moved on a bit as it dries quicker. Carpet came up beautiful. The wheels are so flimsy on it though. Just a tip, I vacuumed with my shark navigator so no hair at all, I found the shark is way better than my old plug in Dyson. I hold the cordon this Hoover carpet cleaner as I clean because yeah that’s annoying as well.
@@TheRovingReviewer I have two dogs and after I vacuumed with the shark first. Not a hair in the Hoover brushes. I’m super impressed by the Hoover though, it’s not as sturdy as my last Hoover turbo exxy one but it definitely cleans better and that’s the main thing.
@@jordynbenson2620 it would work on a wooden floor, but im not sure if you'd want to be using liquid on it. Also, it doesn't replace your vacuum cleaner. It's specifically for washing your carpets.
@@sabrinaalonzo7832 it would certainly be able to, but I'd be very cautious about using any sort of fluids or chemicals on wooden floors. Not sure how they'd react!
Im glad you started with the negatives. Because if thats it, im convinced im gonna go buy it 😅
Thanks for spending the time for the review- I’m going out to buy one
I've loved mine. Super effective getting the dirt out of those worn carpets and rugs. Also tried out the attachments on the car carpets last week!
I'm wondering how this one compares to the other Hoover model, the Hoover Smartwash which is more expensive?
Sorry I'm not familiar with that model. I've been very happy with the model I got, save the flaws I pointed out in the video.
the verticle part of my hoover no longer stands up. 2 screws came loose. How can it be put back together?
Have you tried reaching out to Hoover support?
I just bought a power scrub xl (Canada) it has a separate smaller tank for the solution now, I do wish it had a front carry handle as well.

Interesting to hear! Do you vacuum before using the XL? I found that made it a lot easier for the brushes to bring up a lot of that ingrained dirt.
Do you think the scrubbers are moderately strong enough to do tiles/grout? Great review btw 👏👏

@@felicityrisk5948 wow that sounds amazing. I can't tell you how much time I've wasted trying to clean the grout between the shower tiles.
@ years of back breaking scrubbing I know 😟😟 and we have 2 dogs so you can imagine how white grout went with that …

Yes I'd definitely recommend vacuuming first if you have a pet or two given how much fur got tangled up in the brush heads!

So good guys had it for 299.
@@Guitarbarella well I certainly hope it lasts I only just got mine 😂
Just run water through it backwards and it works fine. Let it dry and I use a shop vac and it's come clean easily
@@davesteelss3454 tried that and it helped. Definitely still needed manual labour though to get all the matted fur out.
Does it vacuum on wood floor also

I would say no. Its a carpet shampooer. If you have a vacuum, use that prior to revving up this power horse poo-er.
