Came back here to say aja is fantastic! I would never have given a guy called steely dan a listen... never heard about any of these artists or the genre, but I'll dive deeper. Thanks for the vid, and waiting for more music content!
Tom Scott who played the sax on McDonalds album is the man behind one of the great hiphop samples, his track "today" was sampled on "They Reminice over you" by Pete Rock and CL Smooth.
Also, i love lukather and knew he (and the rest of toto) were prolific studio musicians, but i didnt know steve was on that michael mcdonald album as well! dope..
steve gadd did amazing work with Al Di Meola. Hes a monster. love jaming to egyptian danza on guitar and drums. Had no clue robin ford was on michael mcdonalds classic album.
I really hate the name yacht rock...but I love every album somewhat arbitrarily classed as yacht rock Having now watched the video: I love your list, very solid, including only allowing the last two steely Dan albums to qualify
McDonald didnt actually make much money directly off I Keep forgetting as it was seen as an interpolation of Chuck Johnsons track "I Keep forgetting" from 1962, so he had to relinquish some royalties
Saw the thumbnail and thought Aja better be on this list
Donald Fagen on Steely Dan being categorized as yacht rock: “go f*** yourself!"
Only 30 seconds in and I can tell this is gonna be a banger
I'm so into yacht rock lately and this video pops up. BC is the MAN!! Michael McDonald forever
Never heard of this genre, gonna give it a listen!

Steely Dan is my favorite band, all great bands/artists on the list. Love it BC
Great choices, BC. A personal favorite of mine is the self-titled Dane Donohue record. Solid and smooth record that means a lot to me.

I’m sure everyone remembers when Rafe sang the Pina Colada Song at Manny Pacquiao’s 34th birthday party

Have you listened to French Kiss album by Bob Welch? Not yacht rock, but similar vibes
@@corneliusblacksmith love that record! He was great on Fleetwood Mac’s “Bare Trees” album, as well.
@@TheBrianCampbellExperience good taste man, looking forward to more music videos
Sentimental Lady, one of my all-time favourite songs. That chorus is magical, with those soaring backing vocals from the great Christine McVie.
Bob Welch is good.

Love Al and that album Casino especially. His latest tour where he went back to the electric was unbelievable

Weird to hear adults speak abt music being too "soft". That's something kids and insecure men focus on. Don't apologize for your musical tastes! :D
