If I remember correct, partner drills are also good for practising slow and controlled kicking technique. You can stand opposite someone, grab their right hand and practice slowly extending your chamber, alternating
Great drills man. I think a lot of tightness in the hips is just weakness or muscle imbalance. ⬆️ External rotation and adductor strength is helping me and I'm sure adding these drills will too.
Great video... I'm 40 y o, and is to hard to me get the stretching and the ability to do the high kick. However I will try until and get it. Big hug from Argentina 👉👊👍🇦🇷🙋♂️
@@NeroMMA thank you, you're doing a great job! Do you ever use ankle weights with slowed down kicks to work on explosiveness? Or do you think it is a bad idea? Also please when you get time. look into the pendulum kick, I need help with fitting it in combos for mma..
@@abenshoof100 Ankle weights are awesome for building control and strength into your kicks! im gonna look up the pendulum kick, dont know for sure which one that is!
@@NeroMMA it's Bruce's Lee's kick to cover distance very very quickly.. and glad you think so I had some "normal people " thinking I'm crazy for using ankle weights..
NeroMMA oh I see the importance of the hip strength now. I have the strength, but sometimes lack the hip flexibility to do some techniques (like a crescent kick, etc)
Hi Nero! Thanks for your videos! Would be glad for your advice here. Is it expected first time, that when I'm extending my leg from the chambered position (and the knee starts in pretty high position) the whole leg starts fall down under the weight of the hip muscles?
Same with me. When I'm in the high chambered position I can't even extend my leg because it's so tight, I don't know which muscle it is even tho I'm very close to middle splits(few inches away). But I can extend my leg from chambered position to rib level height. But doing these holding exercises is definitely helping me, I think it's because my muscles are weak af.
What do you guys think? Have you tried it out yet? Feel any burn😎?
excellent tips oss

But Nero, how is not about stretching???!!! 🤣 I love your advice, thanks! I remember hip stability and strength is key 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻
No no, you should stretch ALSO. But some people are flexible, stretch, but lack the hip strength to throw high kicks!
