OMG you are so lucky to come down to Australia for this experience. It's gotta be the best fireworks show in the world, on the best harbour in the world, in the best looking city in the world.
The pedestrian crossing light "clicker" sound is for the disabled (blind, etc). They can hear it and know it's safe to cross. I enjoyed your vlog. Happy New Year!
G'day it's Steven from Down Under again ( Sydney ) We Sydney siders tend to take all this for granted, which is unfortunate, we should certainly be more thankful. Welcome to all our international friends, especially from the US, you're all more than welcome to visit us, we've always loved America and it's people. Happy New year everyone!
My bucket list is to visit Australia. I should say dream. Probably just that, but Tony, your videos are amazing. I love seeing it through your camera lens.
Notice the sign on the door asking customers to wear a mask. No one in the store was wearing one. I wonder 30 years from now how many signs will be left up?
Yeah, I gotta say - everything in the states looked a bit shabby compared to Sydney - but I really only flew into LA, out of San Fran, saw around Orange county & La Jolla - but was mostly in San Diego & Fashion valley
I am an Aussie living in South Australia, lived all over our beautiful country, but have to say NO ONE does NYE like Sydney.beyond glorious..Thanks for the awesome video you guys.
Thanks Don. I live in Sydney. On NYE 2021, my son flew me around the Sydney fireworks in a Cessna. Flight plan was "Harbour Scenic One". Sydney Harbour Bridge - I have sailed under it; flown over it; walked across it (pedestrian footpath); walked over it (BridgeClimb). Regrettably, I have not flown or swum under it. Happy New Year to you all.
Glad you enjoyed our Sydney New Year Eve fireworks. I hope you felt as safe as we Aussies do walking around this night. No guns to worry about at least. Enjoy every moment.
I’ve been to Australia twice. The only thing on my bucket list is doing what Tony just did. Seeing the New Years fireworks from the harbor bridge. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Congratulations and well done, a great advert for our country and in particular the fireworks display. I live in South Australia and only ever seen the event on the TV.
I made sure to watch it live on TV this morning and thought about what an awesome time you and Don must be having. An experience of a lifetime!🎉. Happy New Year! 🍾🎊🥂
The pay 'phones in Australia are free because it cost more money to collect the coins, than the money they made. The same with taxes. There is a tax threshold were, below a certain amount, it becomes more of a burden than an asset. Currently all the government aged pension and disability pension are not taxed, along with low wage jobs. About 1/3 of Australians pay no tax at all.
My home town!! There is NOTHING like New Years Eve on Sydney Harbour. The harbour is the perfect backdrop for the fireworks display. I am glad you have enjoyed your time there!!
I see you enjoy Pepsi Max. Not sure if you drink Coke, but I have many friends from America and they have all said that Coca-Cola tastes so much better in Australia. This is because we make ours with Sugar Cane and in the USA it is made with Corn Syrup. My friend who lives in Sacremento regularly orders Coke from here and has it shipped to her!
Honestly, this year's fireworks were absolutely amazing, the consistency of colors and shapes just dazzled the eyes. Those in charge seemed to have a high level of experience in selecting and arranging fireworks.👍🌹🎊🎉
The rainbow waterfall off the bridge was amazing! I think that's the first time they've done a fireworks waterfall in a color other than yellow/gold. Super pretty! Sydney's NYE fireworks have new surprises every year. ❤
@@Erizedd I had a friend with a yacht - it really does change every year according to the theme - I actually started getting too lazy to go out because we'd be out from the morning until past 1am. There wasn't as much projections, lasers & music as previous years either
You probably already know this, but the early session is mainly for families with young kids and the later session heralds New Year. Lots of people watch both on TV, each year, in Sydney and worldwide, Well done both of you.
It made me cry, I’m from Sydney and currently in Seattle ☃️ isn’t it a wonderful city and the new years fireworks definitely a big bucket list. Have been extremely fortunate to have done it lots of times form our boat on the harbour. Your description of filling your heart ♥️ is so true. Happiest of new years to you Jenny and Don . Love my city I’m on my way to explore your neck of the woods. 🎉🎉🎉have a awesome sail away from Sydney Harbour 🇦🇺🦘
I am a Sydney girl too, born and bred. I now live in Brisbane, so not as far from 'home' as you are, but I miss Sydney a lot. I would never move back though, it is way too expensive! Cheers
Ah Sydney. Lived there for six or seven years and never made it to the New Years Eve fireworks. I don't like crowds. Looks spectacular though. Glad you got to enjoy it. 😀
@@xDRAGONSTARx you get what you pay for 🤣 I cruised up to Brisbane at the new International Cruise Terminal in November and I wouldn't get off the ship. It was terrible! Now I've got 4 months of consecutively cruising P&O, & Princess, NZ twice, Great Barrier Reef twice, Conflict Islands & Fiji...I've really taken to Sydney as my Home Port, & every day I go out & enjoy the City, the Harbour, Bondi junction or Oxford Street & all our great Parks, Art Galleries & Museums
Emmy C Tony, that was so outstanding and meaningful! Thank you so much! I will never experience that, so I did through your beautiful camera lens. A very Happy New Year to you and your wonderful family! 🎉
That was an amazing video. I can’t believe what a beautiful production they put on. And you did it the cool way….out on a boat. Thank you for sharing. Happy 2023. 🎉
Oh my gosh. So weird that you are celebrating the new year and I am watching this at 3 pm in Arizona. What an amazing experience. Beyond bucket list, right? So happy for you guys. Love those fireworks. I would be crying. And wow, the opera house too. Love it. Thanks for keeping us up on your travels this week. 👍❤
Happy New Year--it was fun to see how "Down Under" celebrates. It was also WILD to see them all walking around in summer clothes (it's 33 degrees here where I am today). Thanks for sharing!!!
Absolutely fantastic vlog! Really quite envious of your amazing trip. ‘Paul & Carole love to travel’ were on Azamara quest in Sydney too! Definitely adding this to my ‘to do’ list!
What's also a novelty is spending NYE at Tweed Heads, then walking across into Queensland where it's still an hour behind and watching the fireworks all the way up the Gold Coast beaches.
I always said that this is what I wanted to. It never happened, but thanks to you Tony, I felt like I was on that journey with you guys. Thank you for going the distance for all of us. Happy New Year to you, Don,and your families.
You absolutely should try to still see it live sometime in future - no fireworks like it in the world! Plus every year it's different with new fireworks and surprises that they haven't had before. One family takes care of the entire fireworks and has for years, and they spend the whole year designing it and coming up with new ideas. 🙂
That was so exciting to see the fireworks over the bridge! Australia is one of my Triple A's that I want to see in my life, another 1 is Alaska which I've been to and we are going back this summer on another cruise. The other A is for Austria for the castles. The triple A Countries they had been on my bucket list since I was 16.
Fireworks don’t impress me, usually because nobody can do them as well as Disney. THESE BLEW ME AWAY!! There is no comparison!! I teared up for you, I was so happy you were able to see that in person! Thank you for taking me along. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I live in Sydney, and have been to both Disneyland & Disneyworld. Hands down Australia, Sydney in particular, has firework displays nailed. Glad Tony and Don got to also enjoy the show.
Sydney has higher average rainfall than London. And 2022 was a record-breaking year for rain. Horrified Sydneysiders have been complaining about the appearance of mould.
YESSS SYDNEY FIREWORK APPRECIATION
Staying at the Sydney Harbour Marriott? Wow right next door to the quay. Best view of the fireworks.BTW please take Dr Pepper back home.

I’m happy that you enjoyed our city.😎
Don, a seasoned traveler, leaving his tickets makes me feel better for stupid things we’ve done while on our travels
We're all humans who make mistakes, it happens to us all!
Exactly! One of the things I always appreciate about this community is the relatability ❤️
Happy New Year Mate.
That has to be the cleanest, most organized convenience store I’ve ever seen!
They are all like that in Sydney! Lol coincidentally I went to that exact one 3 months ago when I stayed at the same hotel as Tony and Don.
They aren't like this elsewhere?
Notice the sign on the door asking customers to wear a mask. No one in the store was wearing one. I wonder 30 years from now how many signs will be left up?
@@swisstroll3 Yeah, it's a old sign. There is no indoor mask requirement unless it's a hospital or retirement home.

You walked straight past Danny Lim. Danny is an absolute Sydney icon.
I noticed him too, he's a special person.
I am an Aussie living in South Australia, lived all over our beautiful country, but have to say NO ONE does NYE like Sydney.beyond glorious..Thanks for the awesome video you guys.
That was about the same distance of our walk from our hotel to Pikes Place in Seattle. I'll take the Sydney inclines over Seattle though. Zoinks.

Sydney always does the really underwhelming 9pm display to set low expectations for the midnight display - which then completely overwhelms you!
It's the scale of the Sydney fireworks the impresses me. That is quite a large area compared to say the London display.
