This is a tribute to Anna-Frid Lyngstad who was 1/4 of the group known as ABBA.
Andante, andante is from the album Super Trouper. Recorded at Polar Music Studios Stockholm, Sweden, and Wembley Arena London, England. Recordings started in February 1980- October 1980.

Don't usually comment. But, as this is my fav band EVER... I have to. Agnetha and Frida have always been amazing singers with their harmonies. They are perfection to a core. I've listened to them sing their comeback song "Dance with me", and was BLOWN AWAY. They are in their 70's and 80's. WHO has a voice and harmony like that in that side of life. They are a true treasure, and I love them from the bottom of my heart. And to imagine, I am from India, and have been following their careers since the 80's. Thank you for the great music. You will always be my greatest band ever.

Loved ABBA ever since I first heard them in 1974 aged 12...with Ring, Ring, then Waterloo and S.O.S. It's 2022 and I'm 60 now and the incredible genius, talent, harmony, music, melodies and the magic that is Frida's & Agnetha's voices will live on eternally. Just saw a recent video of ABBA and Frida with a walking stick it actually hurt me to see the once beautiful vibrant Frida with a stick,she was beautiful in every way,voice, dancer, looks and above all a beautiful personality,I believe she had hip surgery and hope she recovers well from it she was a gem and still is at 76

Agnetha is fine, but she is a standard upper chest voice pop singer. Tons of them.
Frida is also the groups natural front and center performer.
Once you learn a bit more about ABBA and both ABBA girls, you understand why their music peers have such respect for Frida. Have you not noticed it is Frida that pro musicians are drawn too.
The girls history before ABBA:
Listen to all their solo stuff, the LIVE stuff. Nation TV and radio performances. Both girls were known nationally. I'm talking, vocal centric songs, where it is up to the vocalist to carry the song -- No huge band. No wall of sound. No crutches.
There is a reason there is so little of Agnetha in LIVE environments. People as they did into ABBA girls more are learning this.
Agnetha is fine, with lots of cover, references, etc.... Put her ALONE in a vocal recital type environment and see what happens.
Frida's background is vocal centric genre's. She is the real deal and her peers know it. So do listeners that are musically/analytically minded.

Where did it all go??? Looking back at a breathtaking time, which was blessed with the greatest artists this world has ever seen, I am reflecting on my own life of 65 years. Of course, ABBA played a big part during the '70s and '80s, and one cannot forget the feeling of love, passion, and freedom the music gave us back then.
Although the world has changed from bad to worse, it is music from ABBA and other outstanding artists from that era, that makes my life bearable whenever I chose to put my headset on and go down memory lane with TH-cam and Spotify. My greatest wish is to die while being totally submerged in these wonderful tunes.

I think Frida was stunning looking with a beautiful voice. When I was a child, my sister and I used to 'play' at being ABBA we both always wanted to be Frida as we were both brunettes. Not that Agnetha wasn't gorgeous too, they both had amazing presence and beautiful voices.

She got half the leads. A bunch of songs were unison (both girls, same pitch (Hz)).
Frida got the lions share of ABBA's vocal centric leads -- the songs when ABBA cut back on their wall-of-sound, which allows a professional vocalist like Frida to use her talents. Those loud and fast songs are really easy and not challenging. It is the slow and soft one that take lots of technical skills and also promotes emotion.
The reason why Agnetha does not have that full, rich, warm tone of Frida is because Agnetha does not have the technical skills and diaphragmatic breathing that is requires.
Agnetha sounds like a typical pop singer. Frida sounds like a classically trained vocalist. She has refined skills.
Frida was ABBA's only professional vocalist.
Read ABBA's history and how difficult it was to get Frida to commit. Joining a pop group was a comedown for her talent, but pop was more lucrative than her preferred vocal centric genre's.
Frida left the foursome after their cabaret shows winter of 70-71. It took Stig Anderson Polar Music over a year if negotiations to get Frida to commit to the group. Stig may have been Polar Music but Frida had the pull. In 1972, Frida and Stig stuck a deal. The foursome was official and Stig soon named them ABBA.

She is the ABBA girl that has always gotten praise and attention from peers, which started when she was in grade school. At a young age she developed a keen ear. Her teachers identified that she had a vocal talent and a keen ear.
She started singing in front of classmates and church choir. Eventually took to the stage in 1956, winning/elected Children's Day Princess (In 1992, she actually became a real Princess).
Too young to turn pro, she performed in charity events from 1956-1958. In 1958, she turned pro at age 13. Still underaged, but hired anyway and was making her own way in the world and earning the respect of the professional music community.
She was sweeping all the talent hunts.She has won best vocalist talent hunts as a child, pre-teen, teen and adult, too include national level Best Vocalist wins in 1964 & 1967.
1967 proved to be her big break. Nation TV, TV shows, EMI Sweden, modeling, radio...
There is a reason why people, peers and fans praise and gush over Frida's vocal talent/skills. So do her ABBA team members. Read how ABBA became a group. And what it took Stig Anderson Polar Music to secure Anni-Frid Lyngstad. It was not easy. It took Stig Anderson over a year to get Frida to commit to the group. In 1972, Stig & Frida struck a deal and Frida signed a solo Polar Music contract and also agreed to commit to the group.

ABBA had a good and loyal team. They all worked well together and knew their jobs. All talented. And most important is that worked well together.
ABBA's unsung hero that all ABBA fans should know about is Gorel Johnsen-Hanser. She was Stig's and the foursomes savoir. Gorel was ABBA/Polar Music's VP of Ops, personal manager to the core four.
Everything went through Gorel from an administration to PR. When the world called Polar Music offices, it was Gorel, that took the calls.
