Stunning winter scene. The details enhance it beautifully with the addition of the Silver birch, fence posts and Robin and the shadow work 😊 Would look stunning on a Xmas card. Great stuff Master D Temple 👍🏻
Nice new palette Dan, was it a Christmas present? Mind you you’ll be in trouble getting paint over the new top 😂😂 You mentioned the shadow affect many times in this painting, so that means Lancs beat Yorkshire as per usual 😂 Don’t be stingy with paint? That’s not a Yorkshireman’s world😂It’s so tricky to paint snow on a white canvas but you pulled it off with the Lancastrian shadows😉 A glorious painting Dan, with the beautiful Robin Redbreast the cherry on top
Hahaha yes I bought the top just for painting so wasn't overly concerned.... just a waste of paint. Nope Yorkshire is always lit up by gods own golden glow 😆 though next weeks painting shadows may please you Ian. Happy days 👍🎨
Absolutely painting is an individual thing and if you want more birds, paint them in. I show you how I paint, what you paint is up to you happy days 👍🎨
with that much snow on the ground i just don't think a robin red breast is going to be hanging out there on the fence. There is nothing there for him/her. No melted water. No worms. Yes, a few Robins might over-winter in places where there is a water source and exposed ground, but the bird of spring?
Hi there, thank you for your observations much appreciated. Here in England the Robin is traditionally a winter bird, though it stays all year round. The male Robin is very territorial too, so if this is his patch .... he's staying put. Let's use our imagination too on this painting, the back yard of the cottage could have a bird table with fresh water, seeds and meal worms. May have a few bird boxes for shelter. Who knows. But that's what art does, sparks questions for the imagination. Happy days 🎨👍
