The nomai as a whole feel different than the hearthians or stranger inhabitants. They are like a noble race that watches over other species and fosters life. They are like the hearthians older brothers and represent the hatchling's curiousity throughout the game. They do what they do in the pursuit of knowledge while the stranger inhabitants just do what they do to survive. In the end the hatchling learns to let go and take a leap of faith only because of the help of the nomai, which held our hand throughout the journey and taught us how to be curious.
That is a very nice description ::) The idea for the song was basically that solanum has her own instrument, but what if a bunch of other nomai had their own instruments as well? So this is basically that - instead of solanum joining the other travelers, its solanum and the whole nomai race :)
@@Greenpixel16 after reading this description, i couldn't help but smile while shedding some tears, imagining what it would feel for a Nomai to navigate the deep and vast space through the hearthians' system of playing music instead of just distress beacons and other radio signals. this is really amazing, i think you should release various versions, with every instrument being played by a single nomai, just like with the hearthians!
Solanum's piano means so much to me even in the midst of every other instrument. Even with the Prisoner. Something about the last person of a whole species, someone who's not even really alive anymore and hasn't been for eons, someone who saw and knew things we could never understand, someone so above us in almost every way, being so honored to join us humble little Hearthians in the song at the end of time. On top of all that, it's just heart-wrenchingly beautiful.
The tune itself has a wonderful meaning. We've spent the entire game hearing sad piano music as we find one Nomai ruin/corpse after another, and their whole story seems like one big tragedy... and then Solanum's theme comes in, and the skeletons stack on top of each other to reach the stars, and then you also remember their hope and stubbornness and insatiable curiosity about the universe around them. Their final sendoff isn't about how they died, it's about how they _lived._
An absolutely stunning piece. I’m honestly getting a little emotional. The Nomai’s fates were so cruel, they suffered so much tragedy, but it was through their tragedy that we, the player, are even born. God I adore this game and the community around it
