The game includes both encounters with smaller groups of enemies who have more hp and allow to do longer combos on them, and encounters with large crowds consisting of enemies with less hp. Some of the weapons in ninja gaiden 2 really shine against a big crowd. Like landing the scythe UT on a crowd just feels special. Huge missed opportunity by Tecmo. Also can't forget the fact that tonfas and lunar just don't produce enough blood in the remake, in the original game you could summon a rain of blood with those weapons.
@@bigsherpa It is a budget Ninja Gaiden, but it is absolutely worth playing for fans of the series. The game gets very chaotic on the final difficulty, similar to NGII, even if it doesn't quite reach the same levels of insanity. But it shows that it was made by the same team.

I love these stairs in the OG, just looking up at the army running down towards you, scythe in hand ready to wipe em out in one big swing. Unfortunately since they reduced the number of enemies in general, enemy health, damage, & aggression was increased to compensate so having the same amount of enemies would’ve been very difficult. I wish they had at least made it so all the enemies run down the stairs like in the OG & in bigger numbers instead of spawning in the air.
I just got passed this part earlier in this new Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and I can tell you from experience this doesn't hold up to the original Ninja Gaiden 2 and is more akin to Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Funny thing before this remaster even got announced like a couple weeks before I had literally just completed a play through of the original Xbox 360 version of Ninja Gaiden 2 simultaneously with Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on the Xbox Series X using the backwards compatibility featureand quick resume. So the original Ninja Gaiden 2 runs at a flawless 4K 60FPS on the Xbox Series X and retains it's insane number of enemies so you can actually play this staircase in the way it was originally intended with absolutely no slow down. I then played the Sigma 2 version which cut down the number of enemies on screen significantly so it could run on the PS3 originally back in the day. This new version Ninja Gaiden 2 Black unfortunately plays more like Sigma 2 then the original Ninja Gaiden 2 and to make it worse they added this thicc fog effect that effectively looks like a solid ceiling completely obscuring your view of the upper part of the staircase until you pass through it but if you Angle your camera in a certain way the fog effect completely disappears. Overall this portion of the game is severely lack luster in comparison to the original.
Xenia emulation is almost perfect with correct configuration of Canary. The unique problem is the sound stopping each 50 minutes (no solution for now).
so many people mad about "the staircase." Any other game and gamers would review bomb it because the frame rate drops... shouldn't be hard to patch it to add more enemies... just saying.. ( and what's the reaction gonna be when the fps drops to 12?) also.. NG2 is running slow-mo.. similar to how old SNES games would run when too much was going on for the CPU to handle. A modern game engine probably wouldn't run slow-mo like that. (basically the fps is still there the game is just slowing down to compensate.)
That stairwell is amazing if you want to see how long of a combo you can keep going I think I got up to like 600, it’s great for farming if you hadn’t upgraded all the weapons yet

I think they changed it because of the DOA girls. They only have one weapon each, example Rachel would get overwhelmed by all those ninjas because her hammer is kinda slow.
1:25 Whatever happened to have original game spawn all the enemies at once on the staircase isn't supposed to happen. It seems to be a rare case, as I've seen it another video, but almost all other times, it spawns enemies in increments. Looking into it, this seems to be an issue where the game doesn't spawn the enemies in increments and just dumps the whole load out, it's supposed to slow the spawns down to save the frame rate, possibly an issue on the un patched version!
On xbox 360 I had the old nes music playing my first playthrough and i was here at the stairs and everyone came and I ran at them and fought till i was the last one standing. I thought the slowdown was from the music playing, and it will stay in my mind forever. I will recreate it in black when i get there
I loved using maxed out lunar staff here with the full circle y fully charged so he did the spin ultimate move instead of the regular fully charged. He knocks all the enemies up and hits them a bunch of times and finishes with an izuna drop.
People tend to forget that this is Ninja Gaiden 2 SIGMA remaster, they did the same on the master collection, yes they are accountable for advertising as the definitive version of Ninja gaiden 2 while it's just Sigma with a Re-Skin
Thanks for making this. NG2B is criminally anemic. I don't care what the frame rate was. Yes the frame rate barely being playable added to the epicness.
Even though I enjoyed NG2B I was soooooooo disappointed in the staircase. I was looking forward to it for the whole game. I hope someone finds a way to fix it with mods. Edit: btw my first playthrough was on Very Hard and the amount of enemies looked the same as what you saw on Normal.
Yes, it's true that there are so many ninjas on the death ladder in the original version and in the remake version it seems like there are only a few ninjas left🤨
You would think with a modern engine like UE5, pushing modern day hardware they could easily have the same enemy ai count if not more, there are games like serious sam 4 thgat pushes a higher enemy counter with zero frames issues. So it's not a optimization thing, I think its just a design choice in the remaster, not sure why though.
@@DonYoGi8331 It's the long gauntlet of ninjas outside the castle when returning to the village. In sigma 2 it's empty apart from a few dogs near the end, I looked up a black 2 playthrough to check and it looked the same.

@cartoonvideos5 Thanks for sharing, most compelling thing I've heard so far.
On xbox 360 I had the old nes music playing my first playthrough and i was here at the stairs and everyone came and I ran at them and fought till i was the last one standing. I thought the slowdown was from the music playing, and it will stay in my mind forever. I will recreate it in black when i get there
This the footage i been looking for the battle on the staircase is legendary
Thats got nothing on the original xbox 360 is goated
I loved using maxed out lunar staff here with the full circle y fully charged so he did the spin ultimate move instead of the regular fully charged. He knocks all the enemies up and hits them a bunch of times and finishes with an izuna drop.
Definitely toned down in Black remake. The original is still peak.
I never played the original game, so maybe I don't have much say in it but it's honestly disappointing how dumbed down the staircase feels in NG2B
so basically its has all same stages, just more enemies on previsous version?
Same here they should add that like Ninja Gaiden 2 from Xbox 360 hopefully more enemies when playing hard and up like you said
hopefully mods will make it possible
Come on Koei/Tecmo - just give us an update with OG2 spawns as an option. Crazy they couldn't do this, so we have to wait for someone to mod it
The Snyder staircase
This was my favorite part on the 360 as well as when those pink demons xome at you one by one in the underworld
Meh, I'll take the new one... Sorry but the Graphics and Gore sells it for me. My thumbs are tired just watching the OG game...
imagine paying 41$ for this lmao
Which difficulty is this?
Acolyte on the original
From what I've seen the next chapter is also missing a major fight, same as Sigma 2.
What major fight??
What fight?
@@DonYoGi8331 It's the long gauntlet of ninjas outside the castle when returning to the village. In sigma 2 it's empty apart from a few dogs near the end, I looked up a black 2 playthrough to check and it looked the same.
@@Chimwizlet either way, this version slaps in my opinion 🤷♂️
Exactly. People need to realize that this is a remaster of sigma 2 with the added Gore and dismemberment from 2. They didn’t take the 360 version and remaster/add in content to that
I think, Koei Tecmo need create a special, lower polygons models of ninja, and increase amount of enemies atleast x2. Like, cost of visual, but save FPS and amount.
And i think while fight noone notice that enemy models less polygons.
This game is so freaking amazing and then they boost the graphics this is a beautiful game that they made
play on the xbox series x 60fps loool
Why did they take out the projectile weapons?
The company doesn’t live ninja gaiden and you can tell. For 50$ I mean the game should have some content.
"Side by Side Comparison". Video contains no side by side comparison. =P
I hope they will patch the game, more enemies would be better
Does he not know that hero mode is easy mode?
yeah that is certainly a reduction in wow factor. You can play Gaiden 2 xbox series bc 360 version at 100% locked 60 at this part
I'm holding out hope if the community voices it maybe somebody might hear it and drop a patch that makes it so there are way more enemies probably just copium but it would be cool
The ninja gaiden 2 black is based on ninja gaiden sigma 2 not 360 version
The babies are never satisfied
bro you’re playing on normal
Well, yeah man. In the old version of the game, everything was much cooler. Except for graphics, of course.
Ninja Gaiden 2 original plays in 4k resolution on Xbox Series X as well as perfect 60fps
The need to find something negative and everything. It just said if the new one came out and the framework dropped with that many enemies on the stairway you would have complained. It's a lose-lose situation. They're both good games in their own way
Nothin works here better than a SCYTHE. Trust me i shit stones finishing the OG on MNM.
I think since we are in the modern day in age they could get more enemys and the lost bosses via a Update a Con would be of course that it could go to about 90 to 100 gb worth so i would call it worth it. But i must say the price is still a No for me I have the sigma 2 plus for vita and have everything from ninja gaiden 2 there why didn't they choose that version???
So dissapointing. I loved the slow down in the OG. It was epic, IMO.
I am Yulaw Hayabusa, I am no one's b!+@#. I will be the One.
Idc bout no damage frame rate
what a shame, just not worthy. thanks for the video
Compare the Tests of Valor.
Not available in black 2.
where’s the kunai or the wind shuriken this kinda sucks ass i was way too excited sigma is trash why would they remake that one
I have gamepads but I'm actually thinking about just buying Ninja gaiden 4 I'm not going to buy Ninja gaiden two black I'm just going to play it on game pass but I'm thinking about buying the newest one that's coming out I'm going to pre-order it
even on very hard it's the same :(
Uuuugh NGB2 runs like shit on my laptop, I really feel like a 3060 should be enough, I don't get it, didn't even get past the first area because it looked god awful
W also everyone reply to this saying bruh
im looking into an xbox series x i wanna play black opa 2 🤗🤗🤗🤗❤❤😊
Damn
Glad Sigma version toned it down… Glad TN kicked Itagaki out for this issue. :)
They kicked him out because he would drink at work, and didn't fit with "Japanese business culture"
Why would you be glad they toned it down? It lacks being exilerating. Now it's just boring.
