When I finally arrived ( by ferry in Calais ), I was NOT disappointed !! I loved everything about France and the French; I adored their haughty arrogance, I loved how proud they were of their country, their history, culture & language. Eating fresh baguettes and pastries for breakfast for the first time,.... Magnifique !! As if it couldn`t get any better........this record was released and France & Europe was in the grip of "Spacer" fever. You couldn`t go ANYWHERE without hearing this Disco masterpiece;..every club, Discotheque and radio station. Magical, fantastic times.
Sheila was very popular in France. She surprised everyone when she decided to sing disco. This hit was the biggest of her whole carreer. At the time I write this comment, she still sings in France.

The collaboration between Sheila & the B Devotion and Bernard Edwards/ Nile Rodgers was the BEST Sheila could do! With this track she got an evergreen! This song after nearly 40 years sounds still so fresh, it seems it was released nowadays. The music went into your head, moves your feet, becomes a drug and you want more of these sounds. By the way, these sounds don't get boring. They are still so interesting, you'll find eberytime something new and there isn't anybody who can make a better cover out of it - the ground elements are needed and fully integraded in the track. Without these elements the song isn't worth anything. Such a job is nearly impossible for todays songs which are styled by computers!

I am an amateur kwyboard player and I play the keys on my instrument the way a bass player would play his guitar. With the right key presses I often get that funky Chic signature sound. They are a great influence and I thank them for being great innovators.
