Ni-ki has always had a small appetite and I think he gets indigestion easily. I recall a few times when he's said that while they're eating or when he decides not to eat a certain dish. He also prefers sleep over food so if there's free time, he'll choose to sleep more instead of waking up to eat. Also, there's a cultural difference in food. Japanese food is usually lightly seasoned to accentuate the taste of the ingredients while Korean food is usually more strongly seasoned or spicy, which Japanese people find difficult to eat. Plus, Ni-ki has said during his radio show that he personally likes very simple food and food that is good for his health, so he gravitates toward steak, veggies, and fruit. Since he's been dancing since he was 3 years old, he's very conscious about how food and his weight affects his ability to dance and perform. Throughout the years he's tried various things, from eating the catering food to not eating before performing, and now he eats toast with peanut butter before a concert. He also mentioned if he bulks up too much, it affects his dancing so he's adjusting his diet/exercise to fit his ideal weight. Lastly, he's always been a member who strictly manages his weight as an idol. Idols are required to maintain a certain weight/image so the company often manages their weight since their trainee period, with regular weigh-in sessions. Since Ni-ki started so young he's been mentally affected by it the most. I remember in their early days, after eating dinner he said he needs to diet starting tomorrow since he ate a lot that meal and the members told him, 'it's ok, just work hard during the practice and it will be ok,' or when 15 year old Ni-ki said he's been working out to broaden his shoulders and the members started scolding him because he wasn't eating and telling him eating is also a part of working out and he responded by saying he eats smoked chicken breast, and the rest of them telling him that he's still growing so he should be eating everything without worrying.
