We should be aiming to plant native plants and stay away from exotic imports that our native insects aren't adapted to. In my area of south-central Ontario periwinkle can be really invasive and crowd out our native trilliums and other desirable plants.
Planting native plants is important as exotic imports can become invasive and outcompete native plants, which negatively impacts the local ecosystem. Choose native species whenever possible.
Didn't know that creeping Jenny also bloom yellow ,I have two kinds of Sedum the maroon looking one that I have for years never bloom, but the green one I have for two years bloom yellow,
