I have two thoughts: 1. Yunho is one of the best dancers of the 2nd gen. 2. Seungchul's history lesson was really informative. K-pop idols (and their fans) today think they have it tough, but the old school artists really went through a lot.
2nd gen went through the most shit. The industry was struggling. They also had to risk a lot to expand to different countries. Social media became popular late 2000s. TH-cam wasnt that large yet so connecting with fans was harder.. having a solid fanbase was difficult. SM Ent wasn't the SM ent we know now. SNSD experienced black ocean more than once. The sasaeng fans werent a lot but were extremely crazy.
Exactly!! Now them saying that 3rd gen idols paved the way to be internationally known is just too much for me to handle. They dont even know the struggles of the 2nd gen idols as they were the experimental generation to be marketed internationally.
It's not easy for them to entered Japanese market in the past. I think it bcoz Japanese people character was not open to new culture, tvxq even had to stayed some years to learnt about their culture, their language & joined in many japanese programs. They're formed not as korean group but as Japanese group called Tohoshinki who sang in japanese language & jpop (the songs are composed by Japanese composers too). In the early years even there was member wanted to go back to korea (they got succeed in korea but they started from zero in Japan), almost hopeless. They first sang for 100 audience in university hall, then they could held concert in budokan. That's why in budokan some of members cried. Then they could held some arena and then domes tours (include Tokyo dome. Not every artist can held concert in Tokyo dome, it's presticious. But not now... it's easy for kpop idols do it). Then tohoshinki could held concert in Nissan stadium which is the biggest stadium in Japan. So, for cassie or bigeast everytime we saw yunho & changmin go to Japan, we called them "go home" 😊
It's the truth tho. They've been in industry for almost 20 years and still managed to hold into their fanbase. Changmin knew they have die hard market who didnt get swayed by new groups.

Changmin is really sassy while Yunho is serious and passionate. Something they have in common is that they're very real and they don't try to make them sound very generic. They say their opinions , also because they're legends , they don't need to care that much. Changmin would say he wanted to join SJ and they'd even talk about the new generation freely without caring. "I don't see them as a competitor" , "the new generation is not necessarily better. We will show them what seasoned-veterans are" , this was nothing but the truth!

Well they did, they have come a long way from being called traitors and cursed at and be put on 2 years of hiatus for something they didn't even do. They are veterans and so respected in Korea. They held each other and came all the way to here. I'm happy for them.
I think since 3 members already left the band, even though Changmin is joking Yunho just can't help but have that certain fear that it might happen. Therefor, he takes it at heart with how sensitive the group is about this topic of leaving (even if it's not said seriously)

and that Changmin is a more introverted, logical, and patient foil. When there were 5 of them I feel as though Yunho called the shots a lot more but now he's really stopped to make sure that the two of them work as a duo both on and offstage.

I have nothing but respect and love for every single one of TVXQ. Let it be 5, 3 or 2. They are rare breed of artists. Each one of their craft and artistry can stand the test of time. The Red Ocean is always beautiful ㅠㅠ I remember in 5th grade I wrote that my biggest dream was to go to a TVXQ concert XD now i'm graduating high school (and sadly I still haven't gone) but this happy together episode showed me TVXQ's teamwork, their love for each other, and reaffirmed for me that they're still legends who have a long and beautiful path ahead of them in the entertainment industry so HOPEFULLY I can get tickets one day to a concert!!!!

The Red Ocean is always beautiful ㅠㅠ I remember in 5th grade I wrote that my biggest dream was to go to a TVXQ concert XD now i'm graduating high school (and sadly I still haven't gone) but this happy together episode showed me TVXQ's teamwork, their love for each other, and reaffirmed for me that they're still legends who have a long and beautiful path ahead of them in the entertainment industry so HOPEFULLY I can get tickets one day to a concert!!!!

Sometimes, I just come back to their variety show appearances cause it’s hilarious. Changmin has always been the maknae that got his hyungs into trouble. That mouth of his haha, so quick to reply too. Yunho is always so open and he doesn’t care if others laugh at what he says or feels. I really love these two, it’s always nice seeing celebs be real instead of dance around subject matters
