I'd say both are good but smell is subjective. But go for the one that matches your own personality and style better. This will give you more confidence rather than going for what's "hot" at the moment.

Yes, this is correct. They reformulated it between November 2021 and February 2022. Dior sales associate said they wanted to make it more likeable. For me, it lost its magic and character without that pepper and metallic aspect. The pepper is still there, but far less and mostly noticeable in the later drydown.
@@murija2 thought as much but wasn't sure if i was imagining it, gave half of my old 2017 bottle away to a work colleague and it is nuclear compared to what's out now in terms of projection and longevity, prayed a few sprays on my arm and about 3-4 hours later i could hardly smell it.
Man, everyone knows Sauvage was reformulated... But it doesn't matter its bad ;) Of course, it was definitely much more long lasting few years ago but still its iconic scent and women just love it.
the thing I just can't quite get into the sauvage fragrances...it's the licorice. It's in the EDT, it's in the EDP and it's extremely potent in the elixir. Except they just don't list it as a note on fragrantica but it's 100% in all of the fragrances that's kinda the sauvage DNA ...it's ambroxan, citrus, licorice & black pepper. You combine those and you have sauvage
I personally prefer the dior sauvage my mom and sister loves it but i wear 1million most of the time bc i only have a little 1 use dior sauvage test spray thing and my brother LOVES 1million honestly id say both are amazing dior,rabanne,jean paul and armani is definetly the best fragrance makers in my opinion i really advice you to buy a fragrance from one of these companies,one i also really like is valentino its amazing
I think you should just invest in some tester strips but also bring the bottle with you so they can have the option to smell on paper or spray it on their own skin, because it's a bit creepy to ask a stranger to sniff your hands haha. Good video though, I would choose 1 million over sauvage too. It's just more unique there's nothing out there that smells like 1 million but there's plenty of citrus fragrances and stuff that smells like sauvage.
I like one million better but the packaging set me off a bit though...dior sauvage is just so simple straight freshie and smells a little bit suede on my skin and I don't like it that much. While one million got its aromatic spice in it and a sweet vanilla makes it hard not to love the scent alone...
@@eaudeskimmy191 I have a bottle of 1 million lucky but the atomizer kinda sprays bad so I have to decant it into a different bottle just so I don't get soaked and stained by the bad atomizer haha. Actually worth it to just buy a travel spray bottle, plus it's convenient to take with you places as well

I genuinely don't understand why Sauvage is as popular as it is. I'm not saying that to run against the grain or anything. I really just don't understand why so many people like it. It's not that it's bad. In my opinion, very few fragrances are truly BAD. Butnit also doesn't have a vibe that I would call, "Mass appealing". One Million smells pretty juvenile, but that fragrance has definite mass appeal vibes. Also, I partly think women who like it are thinking of it the way they think of their boyfriend's hoodie. They like it because they wanna steal it for themselves 😂
Quite simply because it has a very generic albeit pleasant (and in that order) scent profile with a slightly harder edge. I cannot stand 'blue' fragrances myself as they are quite literally shower gel-ly (and I think that's the appeal) - they make someone smell clean like they've just gotten out the shower. A masterstroke by Dior was the ad campaign with Johnny Depp in the desert. It absolutely screams Sauvage and I cannot think of a more apt ad vision for any fragrance in recent memory. As for PR 1M smelling juvenile (which I agree with) - I find that to be as a result of the sweet fruit notes. The only designer that got this style right (from what I've smelt) is Carolina Herrera with CH Men. But in general, designer fragrance has been in an incredibly dire state for the last 15 years or so. I wish the designers would can the blues and go back to the woody greens!
The overwhelming majority of people (men AND women) simply have no interest in the nuances of fragrances. It simply comes down to what "smells nice" Don't put too much stock in these things - and wear the perfume you want to wear for yourself, not someone else.
1 Million is hugely underrated. It deserves much more credit then it gets on TH-cam from experts. Paco Rabanne is on the same level as Jean Paul Gautier so I was very disappointed when you got a list from SEPHORA, but didn't have Paco Rabanne on the list. I got bored.with Dior Sauvage and as the results show 1 Million is a great alternative to Sauvage. Dior Sauvage may sell every 3 seconds, but a bottle of 1 Million still sells every 5 seconds. The result ended on a tie, so really one more vote was needed.

I agree it was a little bizarre and uncomfortable, but you can't get the full scent off of paper.
