ILIA TUPORIA KNOCKED OUT not 1 but 2 all times greats and the FW Goat!!!! Plus he KO'd Max that have never been KO'd and even KO'd VOLK with punches When that has never happened for Volk was headkicked like Usman was and many before in past. Those 2 KOs were the most impactful and devastating KOs this year of 2024! The man of the year is Ilia Tuporia. He beat 2 ex champs. 1 He took the belt from. He beat 2 living HALL OF FAMERS AND CHAMPIONS by KNOCKOUT! Alex ia cool. But none of the 3 ppl he fought were on the level of Volk and Max nor had their resume and success. Its all love cause it Alex and he fought 3 times. But lets be honest, Hill nor Jiri NOR Roundtree are anywhere near all time greats or LHW goat talk to even be compared to the Goat Volk and Max 'Blessed' Hollaway
I’ve been leaning towards Alex as FOTY but now that I think of it he was favored to win all 3 of those fights and Ilia has way more valuable wins so yea I’d agree Ilia is the fighter of the year
My Humble Picks: Fighter of the YEAR = Poatan Most Improved Fighter = Buckley + Volkov Prospect = Prates Rise = Prates Win = Topuria KO = Max Sub = Khamzat Fight = Poatan vs Hill + Poatan vs Prochazka 2 Performance = Khamzat Comeback = Moicano Team = Nerds Card = UFC 300
Just think about how great Tom is, man. You have arguably the goat in Jon Jones vs the greatest heavyweight of all time in Miochic, and no matter who won that fight, Tom’s belt doesn’t move an inch. How does he do it?
Agree with most of the picks, I'd go with Khamzat for submission of the year though. I was from bell ring start to finish just such a relentless brutal steamroll to the submission. That was a textbook example of when you want to show how superior grappling makes inferior grapplers drown like a non-swimmer in the ocean during a thunderstorm. Win of the Year, I'd probably rather go with Topuria vs Volk as it signified the passing of an era into a new era which just got cemented by the Holloway win. Fighter of the year, I'd just give it to both Alex and Ilia. Both are deserving for the different mentioned reasons. Alex for carrying the UFC and risking everything without hesitation in short notice title fights, and Ilia for the quality of wins. Kind of like questioning what is a better win, a KO or a submission. Different achievements, both great.
Topuria’s last two wins dwarf Pereira’s entire combat sports career. It’s scary how anyone can think Fighter of the Year is up for debate, let alone the majority of fans.
Definitely not. Pereira is a 2 weight champ with 5 title wins and 5 wins against champions. Including Izzy a top 15 fighter ever and top 2 middleweight ever
@ A two-weight champion fighting mostly tin cans. “5 champions” 3/4 of whom are awful. Izzy isn’t top 20 all time. Pereira would get humiliated below middleweight/welterweight.
10:00 to go from 13 to 3 to title shot in one fight is wild lol. Merab had a legit argument. The Sandhagen fight should have never been made. That's how Umar leapfrogged the entire division.
"FoY" could stand for Fight or Fighter of the Year, bud. A bit more specificity would be appreciated. Also, it'd be cool if you could offer a short explanation as to why you don't agree, otherwise this comment is essentially just hot air, my friend. 👍
That super lame fight with Strickland dropped his stock hard. People fell asleep during that fight. No one is even talking about DDP. You shouldn’t put people to sleep in a title fight.
Alex is definately the fighter of the year. He beat top competition without even being healthy and they were short notice fights. Plus he is older, this should not happen and yet it is what it is
You forget Alex steeped up as a champion in short notice .who does that?huge fan of both guys but I don’t see ilia doing that .stepping up as a contender is one thing and defending belt as a champion is on whole another level .let that sink in
At first I didn’t think I was going to like Alex Pieria ( I’m sure I misspelled it) he’s turned into one of my favorite fighters. Even though he only has two emotions he shows on his face, I bet he’s a really funny guy.
4:53 this whole video is invalid. Ilia is great and had a crazy year no doubt, but Alex literally carried the UfC on his back in 2024. Bro did SO much and this ain’t even glaze. I just think he’s FOTY unequivocally
Most improved should’ve been volkov imo, buckleys good but he went from good unranked to decent ranked, volkov went from fringe contender to no.1 contender, just better imo
Shara Magomedov not even in contention for biggest rise of the year?! He easily claims the title in my book. First fight in the UFC was October 2023 and he's dominated in his 3 fights this year. All of his fights this year got performance or fight of the night lmao.

Performance of the year for Money Moicano vs BSD
I’ve been leaning towards Alex as FOTY but now that I think of it he was favored to win all 3 of those fights and Ilia has way more valuable wins so yea I’d agree Ilia is the fighter of the year
My Humble Picks:
Fighter of the YEAR = Poatan
Most Improved Fighter = Buckley + Volkov
Prospect = Prates
Rise = Prates
Win = Topuria
KO = Max
Sub = Khamzat
Fight = Poatan vs Hill +
Poatan vs Prochazka 2
Performance = Khamzat
Comeback = Moicano
Team = Nerds
Card = UFC 300
Foty is difficult, ilia deserves it because of who and how he beat his opponents. But Alex deserves it because how impressive he’s been
Just think about how great Tom is, man. You have arguably the goat in Jon Jones vs the greatest heavyweight of all time in Miochic, and no matter who won that fight, Tom’s belt doesn’t move an inch. How does he do it?
Come on Weasle! Ilia Knocking out Max (someone who's never been KO'D in his career) wasn't even nominated for KO of the year? 🤦🏾♂️
Schmitty made this year massive
Shoutout to the Rakic vs Yiri fight another banger of a fight!
@
A two-weight champion fighting mostly tin cans. “5 champions” 3/4 of whom are awful. Izzy isn’t top 20 all time. Pereira would get humiliated below middleweight/welterweight.
😂😂😂 Can't even say anything about that, just point and laugh.

10:00 to go from 13 to 3 to title shot in one fight is wild lol. Merab had a legit argument. The Sandhagen fight should have never been made. That's how Umar leapfrogged the entire division.
It's mostly about the fact that no one else deserves it more than Umar
shout out Sean Woodson. Dude will be in the top ten for sure. my current favorite fighter to watch.
Other than FoY agree with rest of the picks 👊
"FoY" could stand for Fight or Fighter of the Year, bud. A bit more specificity would be appreciated. Also, it'd be cool if you could offer a short explanation as to why you don't agree, otherwise this comment is essentially just hot air, my friend. 👍
@@Strype13 LOOK another TH-cam dork trying to play teacher in TH-cam comments 🤣🤣🤣 your FKN hilarious bro 💯
Performance of the year:
Replace moreno vs albazi for moicano vs bsd. Absolute domination and brutal to watch.
you have any plans on putting your stuff on spotify
We need busts of the year as well
nah Poatan is the man
4:35 DDP nit even being nominated is insanely criminal... Super Rare Weasle L
Why should he be?
That super lame fight with Strickland dropped his stock hard. People fell asleep during that fight. No one is even talking about DDP. You shouldn’t put people to sleep in a title fight.
Alex is definately the fighter of the year. He beat top competition without even being healthy and they were short notice fights. Plus he is older, this should not happen and yet it is what it is
Kape’s performance against Silva was way better than Khamzats imo.
Ribovics V. Zellhuber 🔥
4:53 this whole video is invalid. Ilia is great and had a crazy year no doubt, but Alex literally carried the UfC on his back in 2024. Bro did SO much and this ain’t even glaze. I just think he’s FOTY unequivocally
Ilia beat two legends but Alex saved cards, knocked out his opponents and did it all in record time.
great video
Fighting Nerds taking over and I love it.
299 could have won "card of the year" if it had a better main event. IMO
Impactful is not a word
Most improved should’ve been volkov imo, buckleys good but he went from good unranked to decent ranked, volkov went from fringe contender to no.1 contender, just better imo
No doubt, Alex is fighter of the year.
Shara Magomedov not even in contention for biggest rise of the year?! He easily claims the title in my book. First fight in the UFC was October 2023 and he's dominated in his 3 fights this year. All of his fights this year got performance or fight of the night lmao.
You forgot Funniest UFC Character 2024, it’s definitely Renato Moicano.
This ain't wwe mate
While ilia's wins are better he took 8 months between fights. Alex's activity gets the win for me.
