It's not ridiculous. It's what the PS5 would cost if you bought it with a new graphics card. At least in the US. But it's overkill for most gamers. It's for people with an expensive TV who want even better graphics. Don't base your opinion on the graphics based on a TH-cam video though. A TH-cam video can't show you what the graphics really look like.
Yea youtube compression isn't going to show the difference in the best way on that I agree, however for you to notice the difference in the background zoomed in is saying something. I do stand by the fact that we are in the era of the law of diminishing returns because if the difference between the base PS5 and pro is marginal then what does that mean with a PS6 4 years down the road? It's just food for thought.
