    Moved here from Los Angeles about three years ago and we love it! Seasons are new to us so we’re enjoying them. People are so nice here! We appreciate the warm welcome.

    Been living in Detroit for 16 years now downtown and we absolutely love it. I have lived in Cleveland, Chicago, Toronto, Ottawa, and Windsor before that, and this is by far my favorite, especially in the last five years. We walk to work, restaurants, pro sports, events, festivals, YMCA, and while car insurance is high, what we save that way, offsets it , with less car cost, less gas, slow car depreciation and no hour a day commute, a 12 minute walk, which is healthier . Our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom co op on the 19th floor overlooking Downtown has property taxes of only 2400. a year, our area is protected by a cost of living formula. .Dont forget purchasers of new places get a 15 year NEZ property tax abatement where your property taxes are VERY low ( like 400 a year for some) . Many large cities and their suburbs have their own income tax just like Detroit btw. City tax is only between 1% to 2% ,its not that material.Overall, we find Detroit to be pretty well in the middle cost wise to live in, compared to other cities, could not come close to living in Toronto anymore, easily double if not more. Dont even think about New York, L.A., Boston, San Francisco, Seattle and many others.

    Eric is a wealth of knowledge. We traveled from Australia, and Eric took the time to show us a number of properties in the areas we are considering buying.

    Driving here is easy compared to Los Angeles. Again, another plus for us! We can get across this city in 30-35 minutes and that’s amazing!

      @@unbreakable_tv It's easy because everybody's moved out. There's no work. Nobody lives there hardly just there's a little 2 and a 1/2 square mile downtown area that's it.

    In the winter months its cold in New York city, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, DC, Milwaukee, Indianapolis etc. I'm just tired of hearing how cold Detroit is...just saying. That shouldn't discourage anyone from coming here, everyone is not moving here from Florida, some people are coming here from other Midwest cities. Hope that was respectful.

    Also, be very aware of the cost of "no-fault" auto insurance!

      @manbtm1 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@allenwayne2033 we have found with car insurance as many of my neighbors that progressive is by far the best company rates to ensure our cars with, we have good driving records, and only one year-old cars, our premiums are high, but not crazy , especially compared to some of the quotes, we got from some of the other companies. As mentioned earlier, what we save, however, in gas, car expenses, car depreciation, and having to park and pay in certain areas, offset a very good portion of the difference and we get to live the way we want to. Life is always a trade-off. It seems. For us at least it works quite well and have no intention to move anywhere else.

    Better off living in Oakland county they have some of the lower taxes and better insurance rates and better quality of living and overall amenities living in downtown Detroit. You literally have to drive outside of the city of Detroit for most things unless you’re like someone that wants to be going to these weird looking stores and then with behavior that just doesn’t really make you feel like you’re ina top tier space .

    Even though he didn’t mention this amazing neighborhood Lafayette Park and the neighborhood is close to Belle Isle are in amazing value and you have access to amazing park. Space I don’t know why everyone talked about Corktown honestly, I don’t see the hype but the East side is better.B

      Yamaha maby, it's true what you said I would not like to think of it that way, but probably true honestly, I really wanted to settle down in detroit because of hearing of how cheap it is to live there but with these videos saying that detroit is not safe any more really makes it a shame. I don’t live in the US, by the way
