This band amazes me. Such a level of technical knowledge and discipline, every note has it's purpose. The way they dring dramatic changes and build tension! But it requires one to develop a taste, more you listen, more you hear their music. How do they write their songs? You can't just sit with a guitar and say "hey, listen to this rif". This is the closest to the classical music that I have heard recently.
@@Nile8765 I can only guess: Brian mostly used shortscale guitars like Jaguars or SGs, so it makes sense to use standard 10 gauge string set plus separate .013 gauge string for high C.
These guys are awesome! My first time hearing them live, and I'm really impressed. They're recordings are so tight and complex that I thought they wouldn't be able to pull them off live. But this was pretty darn tight. Great sound, great band.

Tuned up to F and more badass than many other band based on downtuning.. and amazing technique combined with real emotional riffs. These guys deserve more.

Tantara can't write a good song to save their lives. They can write killer riffs all day, but sometimes less really is more. Listen to Exumer's "The Raging Tides"

Erik the original second guitarist rejoined along with Stephen on bass and Mike on Drums and they've been playing some killer live shows since. I've seen them 3 times now and it's been amazing every time. I think we're all just very keen to get a new album from them now as it's been a long time but I'm almost certain it will be out this year.
7/14/2014: The Outer Space, Hamden, CT- I got a good look at some great talent and performance ability in the manifestation that is Vektor & made a point to seek out and compliment the frontman afterwards that night; hell yeah I bought a t-shirt...keep an eye and an ear out for these guys near you!

How the hell he sings while playing this is mind-bending. I know it's not this album, but Terminal Redux will go down as a cornerstone of metal in future IMO. I hope they get back on track as a band, I really do.
Yeah, I can definitely see that too; I know my voice would be terrible after touring - but then I'm not a great vocalist anyway. Agreed though, his voice is great, even if not quite album quality!

I can easily put these guys on my top 5 metal bands. This is something to put an mark on an entirely generation. Yeah just like Iron Maiden or Dissection these atmospheric riffs and the cosmic theme are for sure an identity to stay in history. It's incredible the sound that comes from this band. One of the best things I've listened in my life. Reminds a Brazilian band called Violator. Love both bands. Long life Vektor.
