I think its because hes naturally very shy, but he is absolutely hilarious in some interviews with him. He is loved because his style is like that of the neighbourhood kid. Happy and with a lot of cheekiness. He really flourished when he was left free to play wherever he wanted. Its hard not to love him as a football player.
