Three divisions....kumaon...garhwal... pithoragarh.....i started my journeys when they were part of U. P....
Sitlakhet is a different kind of place with a dead end road.... beautiful n serene....syahi Devi temple n a beautiful resort where I stay....Anant rasa....no roads nearby...
Another place is near gwaldam called binatoli HQ of SSB....
Khurpatal.... Dwarahat is not a tourist place per se but good trecks nearby....mayawati ashram near lohaghat.....chaukori n nearby patal lok near berinag.... Champawat from tanakpur....chopta n nearby tungnath temple....syarsaur n UKHIMATH....i love driving this way n that way...take detours n stay in villages....logged some 12-15 lakh kms ...
Kausani in 1987 was a different world....munsiyari n a stay at gmvn birthi falls when it was a desolate place....khirsu travel vis landsdowne on the lonely road.....gairsain drive from Ranikhet.....karnaprayag via gwaldam....gopeshwar drive via ukhimath n a Trek to Devariya tal....Drive to Auli vis joshimath....valley of flowers....
Instead of driving straight to kausani via almora bypass....take the road to ranikhet from khairna....drive towards dwarahat n take the singular road to kausani.....dense forests n slopes...
A gas stove....ice box....dry ration n a chatai.....park near a river....chill your drinks in river....cook n lie down...so many places where u can halt....from binsar to munsiyari vis Shera ghat the road touches the river several times.....a long story covering 35 years....
But my favourite is nowadays the seven forests of M. P.....another 8 lakh+ km drive from Delhi from 2008 n still continuing....
No exaggeration....

I have adopted a family in multai nearby....n the boy is a experienced driver....we drive n explore....monsoons is the best time to be in M. P.....

Two days back returned from Uttarakhand. Visited 7 places. All towns are dirty. Cannot enjoy towns visit. Only views from KMVN TRH are good. One need to go away from rest house to enjoy nature. Most of food places dirty and unhygienic. I didn't enjoy food. Rest houses are costly. Taxi drivers loot visitors. I paid 250 to taxi for one km.
Towns markets are full of cheap goods. I am disappointed except nature beauty.
