I have loved that sound for over 50 years.... something about it sounds like home , to me there ain't nuttin' better .... I had a Leslie that I would use with a 1968 fender Princeton amp .. out of my 1970 strat into a vox wah into a big muff into my echoplex then Y'd out to the Leslie and the Fender... that was back in the late 70's.......... now its just a helix floorboard out into a pair of headrush speakers and of course I still have my 1970 strat.... that old technology was pretty awesome.... just don't care to carry it around .... so modular fits the bill....
During the summer I fixed my old vibroverb & got my Leslie out of storage. I do believe that none of the roto sim pedals can come close to replicating that sound. Now I finally finished my rig & I think I am more happy with my tone than i ever have been. I got my Classic Reverb paired with a 64 Vibroverb & the vibratone... my favorite clean tone I have ever gotten. Once again Matt, Thank you for all the inspiration. Your videos are fantastic 🙌🏽
The dime isn't silver, the last year for silver was 1964 for general circulation. You just have a dime. One cool thing about coins from 1965-1967 is they didn't put mint marks on any coins, I believe it was to discourage collecting. Love the vibrotone.
@@wjewell63 nope, 1964 is the last year of 90% silver coins, 1965-1970 half dollars were 40% silver. I have several silver 1964 dimes, quarters and half dollars.
That is seriously one of the best guitar sounds you've ever had Matthew. It was inspiring to hear. Can't imagine how inspirational it must be there in the room. Thanks for making these last couple of years more enjoyable and a bit easier to deal with. Happy holidays man!
I used to play in a 4 piece band with Guitar, bass, drums and keys, including a B3, Clavinette, and electrified Tom Thumb piano, so naturally we had an extra Hammond speaker for the guitar. Those were the days, with record deals and roadies. Your unit sounds 'priceless' to these old ears.
Stevie liked his vibra tone and tuned to a E flat with lots of reverb. He used his Vibratome along with his other fender amps. He cranked it up all the way. I got to see him when he came to Wichita back in the early 80s. He was one of my very favorites when I was in high school back then. That is a very cool bluesy effect I love it. You always have something cool to show us.
Man that sounds killer. Don't seperate the parts Matt! I believe the plug that goes into the control box is just an octal tube base, which is cheap to make your own. I'm really impressed by the Fender Pinwheel rotary pedal. Can't beat it if you don't want to carry around an actual rotary cabinet.
Wow!! Thank you Scott! In a world of modelers vst and all digital crap you are showing the feel of playing with authentic sound. You can find a vst sounding this good, maybe, but the feel!!!
You bought this back to life with the vintage feel and touch at your finger tips. Always enjoy your sorites with the vintage past and inspired by your playing. Luv you Matt.......
The Dual Showman amp is such a great amp. It was used by Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, Jeremy Spencer in Early Fleetwood in the late 60s. Eric Clapton also used to play them in the late 60s and early 70s.
Bro you sound insanely good on this. The cab adds a sharp clarity to your tone that kinda helps to tame your signature heavy and fast blues playing. Keep killing it.
There’s just something about old amps, you can be so expressive just being plugged straight in. Old amps might have their problems that are reoccurring but the sounds to me makes all those issues worth it ten fold
You amaze me Matt. Your channel is always entertaining and your knowledge toward music, guitars, and gear is so well received. And on top of that you are one a hell of a guitarist. What a great way to make a living.
Years ago, before I understood what a Leslie did, I found that the sweet sound I was hearing from this Hammond organ in church was because of the Leslie it was going through! I've never heard a guitar going through a Leslie but I know that people have tried it.I'm fairly certain that a univibe doesn't do the same thing. And it doesn't compare to what a Leslie does. The most important thing about a Leslie is that you have to be there in person to really appreciate the magical thing it does with sound. Even though my speakers are decent, and I could hear a difference, I couldn't hear what you were hearing. It would have been amazing if Hendrix would have discovered this!
Killer upload, man. You never cease to impress. The playing, the tones, the quality of the recording... You bring your A game every time. Thanks a lot for sharing all this. Cheers
I love to watch you do repairs that I would be afraid to do. I do learn something from each of your videos and have attempted to try some small repairs I never would have tried before. The 68' vibratone does sound incredible!! Of course I also enjoy listening to you play as you test your repairs too!! Thank you and Happy Holidays!!!
Man, this tone is huge, love it. Gotta tell you that you never miss to impress me with the content quality you upload, I wanted to highlight this because ppl may not mention it on a daily basis and the gear always steal the show, but its crazy how good this comes thru even via headphones (I can imagine how this sounds in the same room with the amp). There are quite a few channels with huge follower numbers (don't want to bring up any names, its not the point) shooting nowdays with similar amps like you and their tone is nowhere near to yours, regardless the guitar of choice... That makes a huge adventage generally speaking about your content compared to others, ur playing is just cherry on the top. So cannot wait to hear your album once it will be done :) Happy holidays Matt, see ya in 2022. Take care!
It's hard to appreciate now, with all today's digital technology, how mind blowing these rotating speaker concepts would have been in their day. I will always remember the impact the first time, up close to the stage, I encountered a Hammond organ super loud at a live gig going through a Leslie cabinet. Just brilliant, that one sounds sweet but more subtle rotating on a different plane Love it
Honestly didn't know fender made one like that. Our organist had a Farfisa Leslie and that always never ceased to amaze with the sound. I can only picture what that Fender sounds like. Thanks for the content Matthew
I'm in brother! Bring on 2022! When you started talking about working on that amp - pain in the backside, can't get to it from the bsck, brittle, 6 screws to take off a cover... I could have sworn I was listening to a BMW prepare video. 😂😂 it sounds great as usual to me. I can't wait to get digital sound in my car where I've put two Klipsch speakers in the rear deck and and probably one of the few people who have ever managed to get Klipsch speakers in the doors without cutting metal. With that pairing, I think I'll hear every detail as you send it.
You nailed it! That’s the sound that attracted us “boomers” to rock-n-roll way back when. I was wearing headphones for this and the stereo pan was pleasantly subtle. Good job!
⚓️ Thanks Matt 😎 I remember that sound going to concerts at a local university when I was in middle & HS ‘68 > ‘73 🎸 brings back that feeling when I heard that psychedelic sound in the olden days 😎
These things can make a small club sound groovy, as the room ambience is kinda reflected by the rotating sound vent.. So yes, all that porterage better be worth it, I reckon. O Great Disciple of Hendrix Chord-Melody School, friends and family, have a merry Christmas and a very happy new year..🎄
Actual mythical jam at the end followed by a shrug "yeah, it's pretty good"
What a legend.
Wow,what a huge sound....you deserve more than 160.000 followers...i hope you get soon 1.000.000 followers!!.
You are a soulful man.....

Man sounds like you had one of the greatest rigs of all time...
@@MatthewScottmusic Hello, Matthew.
Quick question; What frets do you use on your '59 Strat?
Pretty darn close to Claptons 70s rig
9:52 - 10:40 brought tears to my eyes. Sooo good!
Okay, video aside (for now), THAT PIC AT 0:51!!! Jimmy playing Number One!! I've never seen that!! Wow!! That pic blows me away!! Too cool!!
Your tone is just the definition of blues rock

A blast to the soul! maybe one day I will live in a place where I could turn something like that one without being chased down by cops.
Dude ............your playing just blows me away. Every video. I just stop everything and watch. Yhen again and again.
That clean sound, just incredible.
THAT Tone... volume rolled back to a clean gnarly overdrive. WOW!!!
Wish you had played more. We always wish for more playing! The gear is great, but we tune in for uour playing!

Yeah, we felt it too!
This made my day ☺️
Over TH-cam sounds great , I can only imagine how much better it would sound.
Literally got chills and the hair on the back of my neck stood up when you hit that overdriven part of the demo. Just incredible!
The rare pony tail. Well played, sir. Well played.
I love the tone that you got out of that around the 9minute mark
For a special treat listen with headphones 🎧 on. Thanks Matt, Happy Holidays to you!!!

Matthew, what a find here, thanks for the video,
Your passion for the old equipment is awesome 🤩
Well done. Hope to see you jamming live soon. Peace
That tone is magic. So is the playing.
The sound was great, but the real star of the show was your playing here, dang! Maybe the best I've heard from you.
Man, I swear to God everytime im looking to quit playing guitar, your videos just somehow makes me wanna keep playing and get better.
Next level playing. Amazing.
Love the Vibratone! Wish I could be there in the room.

Omg that 59 is sooooooo beautiful!!!! Lord what I would give to have that guitar!!!

also happy holidays matt!
He surprised himself while he was bending and it was screaming hahaha. That amazing tone definitely makes new ideas pop out in your playing
The digital stuff they use nowadays can never replace these amps and cabinets. This is the real deal right here. Killer playing.
The tone and playing were both perfect.
That sounded amazing! There just is no substitute for the real thing!
SRV would be proud with that killer clean blues sound!
Very ethereal.....brings me back to my childhood...thanks brother.
That's the sound that made me pick up a guitar.
Much love and peace.
Dude….you could totally tell you were feelin’ it! Great sound and badass playing young man.
Fantastic sound from an old guy that grew up in the 60s and 70s
Wow, great ! I was not expecting that by reading the title. Merry Christmas Matthew.
That piece you played is some of the best playing I have heard from you. Amazing, dude! Wow!
Love the vibratone! Could listen to that all day
Recently saw you on Paul Davis' channel! Your solo definately stood out among others
