I love the carving you've done, can't wait to see the tree when it's a few years down the track. Keep up the great work, as always your videos are fun to watch! Cheers to you!
Your olive trees are my favorite. I ordered a olive but I ended up with one with larger leaves. It's still useful but I'll have to try again and get the right one.
Sam Doecke, Aussie bonsai bloke Thanks! I did find one they call a Russian olive that grows wild but it has long thorns on it. I may try that one anyway. I know they smell like heaven in the spring.
Hay man that's really cool I've got a fig tree that's been growing in a big pot he's got a big fat trunk and I've chopped it right down looks a bit boring so you have given me an idea I'm going to try carving holes in it
When u started carving I thought I'd ask if part of the tree gonna die... Then u just answered it! I have to say it does look better with the stain. Oh one question, when should we be trimming junipers? I'm from NZ so I assume we have similar weather.
Thanks Haley. Cheers for the watch and comment. I trim junipers once in late spring after the growth is a allowed to grow a little, then again in early to mid Autumn depending on the growth. You guys may be slightly in front of us but yeah very close. I'll be cutting mine in the next month when I get some time 😁
@@SamDoeckeAussiebonsaibloke No problem! Next month, you mean like the month coming up in a few days? =D I got my juniper from bunnings start of the year and have only wired the main trunk for shape and trimmed the unwanted big branches. Wish me luck on this trim haha!
Yeah mate will do in the long term but need to let the wood dry. Then maybe a small amount of lime sulfur to highlight bit 😁😁. Cheers for the watch and comment mate

Won't the ash/charcoal just wash off mate; what about letting it dry then use the missus Creme brûlée burner again?
Yeah mate I'm sure it will. When the wood dries out I'll give it a go. This is just to show for now. Cheers mate
Honestly best part about Australia is who needs permission to dig lol it's still 89% uninhibited
Ha ha yeh I stick to the pest trees and leave the natives alone though 😁😁. Maybe if the natives were easier to collect 😂😂
It looks like Dresden 1945 The night after the allied bombers left
Cheers for the watch mate
