Sen. Santiago: "These six grounds are based on the ideology that the impeachment court is not almighty, not absolute, not illimitable, and not more supreme than the Supreme Court."
Till this time I keep on watching her videos because it makes me wiser . MDS if she deliver her messages/ speech in an any events thereto all people surrounded her has a full control of silent gaining educate and ideas / how she taught in term of her ext/ expertise and her high level of intilligent.
Senator Santiago stated that the Impeachment Court is not more supreme than the Supreme Court. And it is not otherwise either. We Filipinos should always be reminded that the Legislative, Executive and Judiciary Departments of the government have co-equal powers. Each has its own powers and responsibilities. Each being supreme in its own sphere.
if i can go back my high school life and if we were at same age, gusto ko team mate ko si madam kc pag pinapaexplain na sa unahan ng teacher about sa group activity hay naku lahat ayaw. galing nya mag explain easy to understand and powerful.
Santiago mentioned about the importance of check and balance system as ground for obeying the TRO of the SC without probably realizing that the point of the entire proceeding rested on a specific issue concerning check and balance itself.

@jhayare90 sisimplehan ko nalang IMHO impeachment court is the highest court for an elected or public offical.. The one who loves to collide suddenly is afraid to collide when collision is needed and necessary. You have your reasons senator Santiago but definitely truth, which you try hard to hide is not one of them.
Are peaches such an incredibly important source of revenue that even the Supreme Court hasn't the right to investigate into it's activities? Human rights straight up the bum is it? Since u gotta take it, so says the entire judiciary system and senate apparently, might as well learn to like it is it?
You just need to mince through what Sen. Santiago said. The impeachment court is the only court that can try and decide impeachment cases for the highest officials of the land, therefore, decisions rendered by the impeachment court cannot be appealed to a 'higher court' unlike other cases when can be heard on appellate courts like the Supreme Court (also called the court of last resort when it comes to appeals). But in matters that is not within the grasp of its authority, such as the issue regarding the TRO, it cannot overrule the Supreme Court. They both have supreme powers in different ways and one cannot overrule the other, and a collision between the two will result in an epic constitutional crisis.
@@alvinbernal Yet Santiago also stated correctly that the SC has the power of judicial review over impeachment cases. Now I am not familiar with the implications and consequences of such a judicial review whether the results thereof can overturn the decision of the impeachment court should the defendant decide to elevate his or her case to the SC. The defense panel itself mentioned about elevating the case to the SC should a decision is ruled in favor of the prosecution. My view is that the SC is ultimately the court of all courts, the supreme one for which no other human court is higher. The SC has judicial power over justiciable issues. Impeachment is a clearly a justiciable issue.
