I can only imagine how much better buakaws gonna get now that he's adding modern sports science training to his regiment. He was already a monster now hes gonna be something more.
Buakaw makes this ridiculously difficult conditioning regime look easy. Have a go at doing those press-ups the same way and you'll find them much more agonising than normal press-ups. No wonder he's like iron.
"Any thai fighters weakness is going to be a guy with good boxing skills". This is just a stereotypical notion people have of Thai fighters. Muay Thai dominates the ring because of the variety of weapon it utilizes, unlike boxing, which only uses the fists. It is more true to say "Any boxer's weakness is going to be a Muay Thai fighter with good kicking skill".
It's good to see Buakaw expanding his training regimen. Much of what he was doing will improve his core strength and help with balance. It may not be conventional by current Muay Thai standards but if it works who cares right?
There is nothing wrong with making loud noises when you train...it keeps oxygen flowing and it keeps pressure from building up in your body...if you do a hard set and dont breathe or are completely silent you have a better chance of feeling dizzy during or after the set, maybe even passing out.
Had to search most of what you said :) And he does seem to lack technique, but from what I've watched, most do round-kicks/roundhouse kicks to various parts of the body and then change a little from time to time. I do all-sorts of martial arts (karate, taekwondo, capoeira...), and I prefer doing roundhouse kicks, thrust kicks and hooks kicks, so I suppose most fighters are mostly the same. I haven't spared in years, too lazy :)
Can anyone advise me on what my diet should be like if I am a beginner to Muay Thai? Im 17, female, 156cm, 50kg a lot of body fat because i can pinch it and see it wobble and have not been exercising or eating right.
i trained in Thailand for a while i didnt see any fighters do this kind of training i guess because the big money is in k-1 he had to change style for more fast and explosive i love both style of fights this type of training looks great your right about the sparring some Thais thinks he is a bully fights guys with 20-40 fights while he has had 100s this s why we will never see him fight yodsenklai a heavy thai is out of the question he never won a lumpini title that and Rajadamnern = best
thou why he makes noices, is to breath in fast within each kick//elbow//punch//kne//frontkick. because if you dont make noices you could forget to breath within each punch which makes you exhausted, quicker.
yeah the dutch are really good fighters. I'd bet money any dutch could hold his own in muay thai especially since they have what they call "dutch" muay thai anyway. Overeem is awesome in the clinch and considering he's also a grappler he has master control in there. extremely dangerous in the clinch. Great style for k-1 with the blend of boxing and muay thai. He even knows elbows from mma. he'd do good in muay thai.
ey man... i think he's one of hte best thai boxers on the planet although maybe not the very best but he's pretty close. I think if he did lumpini nowadays he would do much better then he did in his early career. And yeah his training is different from most but sometimes if u want to be the best u have to do something different. I've seen alot of thai fighters lose to westerners with less skill because of physical prowess. since he competes against westerners and the like he should be strong.
he is starting to look bigger now is he moving up a Wight class. he looked allot smaller in some of his k1 fights. mind you that I have not seen to many of his fights
Tiny? lol, small frame yes but he's shredded. Not everyone has the genetics to be 110kg so striving for a body that is actually obtainable for your size is good. Oh also no 4 months is not enough for this body.
ya i guess because boxing don't score as much they train kicks more but we get to see good fights if everyone fought the same k-1 wouldn't be as fun the different styles make it great 2 watch dutch are great french are getting to be just as good i think
I can only imagine how much better buakaws gonna get now that he's adding modern sports science training to his regiment. He was already a monster now hes gonna be something more.
He is The Legendary Warrior.
he is the MAX category in muay thai and he dont uses rare machines to workout,he use his own body...nice,very cheap and natural to train like him.
MElekiaZ rare machine for gay
Traditional training the best
Buakaw makes this ridiculously difficult conditioning regime look easy. Have a go at doing those press-ups the same way and you'll find them much more agonising than normal press-ups. No wonder he's like iron.
It's just a matter of habit

Buakaw is an absolute legend. Hardwork beat talent.
There is nothing wrong with making loud noises when you train...it keeps oxygen flowing and it keeps pressure from building up in your body...if you do a hard set and dont breathe or are completely silent you have a better chance of feeling dizzy during or after the set, maybe even passing out.
I really loved your clip.
Living legend
Great Work! One of my favorite fighters!!
Buakaw to me looked at his best during this era
So lean
I love the Yoga at the end. The woman is laughing and Buakaw is deadly serious about Dancer's Pose.
The legend of muay thai
you got the title! best wishes for you.
Mac
How can you be so perfect? I love you Buakaw❤
Excellent agility training...methods improve and keep moving forward, ladder training, cones, static strength...nice.
best quality in youtube
and here i am getting winded after walking a flight of stairs
he changed his mind. I am very happy with that. He will face Andy in the K-1 Max final (sure Andy will get through to final).
Legend!! Oss
@underboss87 I think these are new training methods for Buakaw. His older training was more basic: pushups, pullups, situps, neck training
NICE TRAINING.
I found these great exercises.
Thanks for the tips
this is oob From dragonball
lmao 'oob'
nice training
He'd be a great stepping artist!
ITALY LOVE Buakaw !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
buakaw is the muay Thai of Bruce lee that is able to define physic to it limit.
Wow..I'm really curious if other Thai boxers implement this type of work out.
Had to search most of what you said :) And he does seem to lack technique, but from what I've watched, most do round-kicks/roundhouse kicks to various parts of the body and then change a little from time to time.

that gym looks so sick!
A good training
didnt know thai boxers did this sort of training guess its evolving like boxing with special fitness and strength coaches
i trained in Thailand for a while i didnt see any fighters do this kind of training i guess because the big money is in k-1 he had to change style for more fast and explosive i love both style of fights this type of training looks great your right about the sparring some Thais thinks he is a bully fights guys with 20-40 fights while he has had 100s this s why we will never see him fight yodsenklai a heavy thai is out of the question he never won a lumpini title that and Rajadamnern = best
Man that trainer is awesome! :D
u are the best =o
To become a great martial artist you must train your mind. "Where the mind goes the body will follow".
chu chu chu chu chu train coming....
@K1BIGGESTFAN You made my day lol
hero
nice environment to train

@Voicua Easy Thai cuisine. Just need to set the menu for proper calories and nutrition
ey man... i think he's one of hte best thai boxers on the planet although maybe not the very best but he's pretty close. @coleslaw871 Because when you exert your muscles they need oxygen to function optimally, so taking in oxygen as you exert can help.
boy i can go across the world over the internet
Very different of what he used to train back at the time, some of those sets looks like something a grappler would train...
@GoldenGuardian32
Well, it seems to be working for him. Just look at his body, he's in fantastic physical shape.
I like this
That's Bangpakong river in Thailand.
tomo um coro do dida!!! a mulequeEEE!!
its really cool
Does he only do caleisthenic(cmiiw) or gym too??
And now he made his comeback on 14th of September 2013 ; )
his training is used for? and yours is used for?
he is starting to look bigger now is he moving up a Wight class. he looked allot smaller in some of his k1 fights. mind you that I have not seen to many of his fights
not only healthy but strong also ..
Bauakaw has retired from fighting in 2012. Forever. Now nobody threatens him.
Buakaw is amazing
I want that kind of body
Hanif Zahidin subsists I
Hanif Zahidin 2 years of bodybuilding and you'll get this, 5 years and you'll be even bigger, if aesthetics is all you want.
The fuck? Buakaw is tiny as fuck. You can get that body in 4 months of solid training.
Tiny? lol, small frame yes but he's shredded. Not everyone has the genetics to be 110kg so striving for a body that is actually obtainable for your size is good. Oh also no 4 months is not enough for this body.
It depends on one's starting point but it's really not that hard. Buakaw isn't a bodybuilder
I wish I could train in that kinda fresh air that he does.
thx
yeah it is
ya i guess because boxing don't score as much they train kicks more but we get to see good fights if everyone fought the same k-1 wouldn't be as fun the different styles make it great 2 watch dutch are great french are getting to be just as good i think
I wonder how many of those alternating push ups does he do.
@Nerkimusaka if it's true how do you know?
@RAM5ARECORDZ I want to meet Sombat Banchamek ( Buakaw ) ! Im his fans! and im from thailand too, i want to meet baukaw! im was born in Surin too
it's core stabilizer strengthening for pro.
